Monitoring for Mutual Effects of Switching Power Capacitors in Power Systems
Samy M. Ghania,Ayman S. Elwer,Reda Morsi,M. M. A. Salama 전력전자학회 2008 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.8 No.4
Power system perturbations are due to many reasons; one of the most common perturbation causes is switching off/on the power capacitors. This paper monitors and discusses the overvoltages which appear on local and remote capacitor connected buses in power systems. Using the Fast Fourier Transfer (FFT), the total harmonic content of voltages and currents waveforms is also estimated at all buses. The power factor during different cases of switching modes “off/on” is monitored. The monitoring technique tackles not only the longitudinal long distance mutual effects of switching power capacitors between different buses but also evaluates the overvoltage durations. A relative long term monitoring is implemented using the Matlab/Simulink environment to show severity assessments in different switching modes on the transformers’ voltages and currents’ waveforms.

A novel inverse kinematics solution based on the back propagation neural network (NN) for redundant manipulators is developed for online obstacles avoidance. A laser transducer at the end-effctor is used for online planning the trajectory. Since the inverse kinematics in the present problem has infinite number of joint angle vectors, a fuzzy reasoning system is designed to generate an approximate value for that vector. This vector is fed into the NN as a hint input vector rather than as a training vector to guide the output of the NN. Simulations are implemented on both three- and four-link redundant planar manipulators to show the effectiveness of the proposed position control system.

Samy M. Mostafa,이정곤,전영배,허걸,Christeen Karam Sorour Ebid 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2022 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.24 No.1
As an extension of bipolar-valued fuzzy sets, the notion of (ᾶ, α)-crossing cubic QS-ideals of a QS-algebra is introduced, and several related properties are investigated. Characterizations of (ᾶ, α)-crossing cubic QS-ideal in QS-algebras are established. The relations between (ᾶ, α)-crossing cubic subalgebras and (ᾶ, α)-crossing cubic QS-ideals of a QS-algebras are studied. Moreover, the homomorphic image (pre-image) of (ᾶ, α)-crossing cubic QS-ideal of a QS-algebra under a homomorprhism of QS-algebras is discussed.

Samy M. Mostafa,Ehab f.Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,Young Bae Jun,허걸 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2021 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.22 No.3
The concept crossing intuitionistic structures set is combination of intuitionistic fuzzy set and $N$- function. In this paper, the concept crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are introduced and several properties are investigated. Also, the relations between crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals and crossing intuitionistic ideals are given. The image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals under homomorphism of $KU$-algebras are defined and how the image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic KU-ideals under homomorphism of KU-algebras become crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are studied. Moreover, the Cartesian product of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals in Cartesian product $KU$-algebras is established.
A Cytotoxic Lupeol Fatty Acid Ester and Other Pentacyclic Triterpenes from Salvadora persica Seeds
Samy K. El-Desouky 한국생약학회 2023 Natural Product Sciences Vol.29 No.3
The phytochemical investigation of the ethyl acetate fraction of the methanol seed extract of Salvadora persica resulted in the isolation and identification of five pentacyclic triterpenes (1-5), oleanolic acid (1), ursolic acid (2), β-amyrin (3), β-amyrin acetate (4) and lupeol tricosanoate (5). The structures of these compounds were established by the analysis of their NMR spectroscopic and mass spectrometric data. In the bioactivity assay, compound 5 showed moderate cytotoxic activities against breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7), colon cancer cell lines (HT-29) and hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines (HepG2) with IC50 values of 9.4, 6.85 and 12.74 μg/mL. respectively. In all previous studies, lupeol tricosanoate (5) has been isolated as a mixture of triterpenoid long-chain fatty acid esters and this is the first report of its isolation and characterization as a pure molecule. Moreover, the occurrence of fatty acid ester of triterpene in this plant is of taxonomic importance.

Samy M. Mostafa,S. H. Han,Ehab F. Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,허걸,백종일 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2022 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.23 No.2
A crossing octahedron set is composed of three components : interval-valued fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set and negative-valued function. In this paper, we first introduce the concept of crossing octahedron set and investigate its properties. Further, we define a crossing octahedron Q-ideal, Q-subalgebra and BCK-ideal of a Q-algebra, and we deal with their relationships. In addition, the homomorphic images and pre-images of a crossing octahedron Q-ideal are also studied. Related properties of crossing octahedron Q-ideals are explored and discussed. Finally, the Cartesian product of two crossing octahedron Q-ideals is investigated.
Monitoring Mental Healthcare Services Using Business Analytics
Samy Housbane,Adil Khoubila,Khaoula Ajbal,Zineb Serhier,Mohamed Agoub,Omar Battas,Mohamed Bennani Othmani 대한의료정보학회 2020 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.26 No.2
Objectives: Monitoring healthcare activities is the first step for health stakeholders and health professionals to improve the quality and performance of healthcare services. However, monitoring remains a challenge for healthcare facilities, especially in developing countries. Fortunately, advances in business analytics address this need. This paper aims to describe the experience of a lowincome healthcare facility in a developing country in using business analytics descriptive techniques and to discuss business analytics implementation challenges and opportunities in such an environment. Methods: Business analytics descriptive techniques were applied on 3 years’ electronic medical records of outpatient consultation of the University Psychiatric Centre (CPU) of Casablanca. Statistical analysis was conducted to compare results over years. Results: Over the 3 monitored years, the monthly number of computerized physician order entries increased significantly (p < 0.001). Physicians improved their personal recording over years. Schizophrenia as well as depressive and bipolar disorders were noted at the top of outpatient mental disorders. Antipsychotics are the most prescribed drugs, and a significant annual decrease in outpatient care wait time was noted (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Business analytics allowed CPU to monitor mental healthcare outpatient activity and to adopt its business processes according to outcomes. However, challenges mainly in the organizational dimension of the decision-making process and the definition of strategic key metrics, data structuration, and the quality of data entry had to be considered for the optimal use of business analytics.
Real-Time Monitoring System to Manage Mental Healthcare Emergency Unit
Samy Housbane,Adil Khoubila,Khaoula Ajbal,Mohamed Agoub,Omar Battas,Mohamed Bennani Othmani 대한의료정보학회 2020 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.26 No.4
Objectives: Real-time relevant information helps guide the healthcare decision-making process in daily clinical practice aswell as the management and optimization of healthcare processes. However, proprietary business intelligence suite solutionssupporting the production of decision-making information requires investment that is out of reach of small and mediumsizedhealthcare facilities or those with limited resources, particularly in developing countries. This paper describes our experiencein designing and implementing a real-time healthcare monitoring system solution to manage healthcare emergencyunits. Methods: Through the use of free Business Intelligence tools and Python data science language we designed a realtimemonitoring system, which was implemented to explore the Electronic Medical Records system of a university mentalhealth emergency unit and render an electronic dashboard to support health professional daily practice. Results: Three maindashboards were created to monitor patient waiting time, to access the clinical notes summary for the next waiting patient, and to obtain insights into activity during the last 24 hours. Conclusions: The designed system could serve as a monitoringsupport model using free and user-friendly data science tools, which are good alternatives to proprietary business intelligencesolutions and drastically reduce cost. Still, the key to success in decision-making systems is based on investment in humanresources, business intelligence skills training, the organizational aspect of the decision-making process, and data productionquality insurance.

In the modern era, chronic kidney failure due to diabetes has spread across the globe. Prunetin (PRU), a component of herbal medicines, has a broad variety of pharmacological activities; these may help to slow the onset of diabetic kidney disease. The anti-nephropathic effects of PRU have not yet been reported. The present study explored the potential nephroprotective actions of PRU in diabetic rats. For 28 days, nephropathic rats were given oral doses of PRU (20, 40, and 80 mg/kg). Body weight, blood urea, creatinine, total protein, lipid profile, liver marker enzymes, carbohydrate metabolic enzymes, C-reactive protein, antioxidants, lipid peroxidative indicators, and the expression of insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) and glucose transporter 2 (GLUT-2) mRNA genes were all examined. Histological examinations of the kidneys, liver, and pancreas were also performed. The oral treatment of PRU drastically lowered the blood glucose, HbA1c, blood urea, creatinine, serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, lipid profile, and hexokinase. Meanwhile, the levels of fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase, glucose-6-phosphatase, and phosphoenol pyruvate carboxykinase were all elevated, but glucose- 6-phosphate dehydrogenase dropped significantly. Inflammatory marker antioxidants and lipid peroxidative markers were also less persistent due to this administration. PRU upregulated the IRS-1 and GLUT-2 gene expression in the nephropathic group. The possible renoprotective properties of PRU were validated by histopathology of the liver, kidney, and pancreatic tissues. It is therefore proposed that PRU (80 mg/kg) has considerable renoprotective benefits in diabetic nephropathy in rats.

Three different Gemini compounds containing different lengths of multi-carbonyl groups were synthesized, and the effect of their hydrocarbon tail length on the AgNPs synthesis was investigated. The Gemini surfactants with the long hydrocarbon chain tail produces small AgNPs with a narrow size distribution and high colloidal stability in an aqueous phase. The surface parameters of the aqueous solution were affected by the hydrocarbon chain length as well as phase temperature. The critical micelle concentration, assessed by surface tension and conductometric measurements, decreases with both increasing solution temperature and increasing hydrocarbon tail length. Thermodynamic calculations predicted the ability of the synthesized Gemini surfactant to adsorb on the phase surface and aggregate in a cluster.
