This study aims to evaluate patients’ satisfaction with healthcare services in Hawtat Bani Tamim Governorate during the spread of coronavirus. The importance of this study stems from the fact that Covid-19 is challenging countries all over the world. The study adopted a questionnaire for collecting the data. The sample size reached 231 members. The study applied descriptive statistics and inferential statistical methods to obtain the result of the study. The analysis of the data revealed that most of the participants are satisfied with the healthcare services in hospitals and health centers during the Corona pandemic, Health precautions and distancing measures were applied appropriately, Vaccination against corona was available in health centers and easy to access, and rapid response of health care service providers to patients’ requests. The participant’s opinions showed that the application of Mawid is a suitable method to access healthcare services during Corona, the application is more efficient in providing the required healthcare services and facilitating their access to healthcare services. In addition, patient satisfaction with the “My health” application provided fast and convenient services during the Corona pandemic and provided medical consultations easily.
MHD micropumping of viscoelastic fluids: an analytical solution
Saied Moghaddam 한국유변학회 2021 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.33 No.2
An analytical solution is found for examining the effect of a fluid’s elasticity on the performance of MHD micropumps. The test fluid is assumed to be an incompressible viscoelastic fluid obeying the Oldroyd-B model. The flow generated by the Lorentz force is assumed to be laminar, unidirectional, and two-dimensional. The effects of relaxation and retardation times are investigated on the volumetric flow rate. It is concluded that by a decrease in the relaxation time, the pulsatile nature of micropump can be eliminated in its transient phase. At sufficiently low relaxation times, the flow is predicted to monotonically reach its steady value at a much shorter time. By an increase in the retardation time, the pulsatile nature of micropump in its transient phase can also be eliminated and the flow will be more continuous in its steady conditions.

Purpose: Blockage of the urinary tract induces changes in renal structure including tubular dilatation or atrophy, tubular cell death, inflammatory processes, and progressive interstitial fibrosis with the loss of renal parenchyma. The present study was conducted to survey the protective effects of Taxol and taurine on the renal structure after unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). Materials and Methods: UUO was induced in three groups of rats (n=6) who then received distilled water, Taxol (0.3 mg/kg/d), or taurine (7.5 mg/kg/d). Stereological methods were used to gather quantitative as well as comparative data. Results: Less than -8% of the volume of the glomeruli, proximal convoluted tubules (PCT), distal convoluted tubules (DCT), Henle’s loop, and collecting ducts were preserved after UUO. After treatment of the UUO rats with Taxol, between -32% and 88% of the parameters mentioned above remained intact, and after treatment of the UUO rats with taurine, between -16% and 46% of the parameters remained intact (p<0.01). Compared with the untreated UUO animals, the volume of necrotic and fibrotic tissues decreased -53% and -63% in the UUO rats treated with Taxol and taurine, respectively (p<0.01). Less than -3% of the lengths of the renal tubules (PCT, DCT, Henle’s loop, and collecting) were preserved in the UUO rats. After treatment with Taxol and taurine, -61% to 70% and -43% to 53% of the length of the renal tubules were preserved, respectively (p<0.01). Conclusions: Taurine and Taxol are effective in preventing some structural renal damage in a direct ureteral obstruction model. Taxol was more effective in renal protection Purpose: Blockage of the urinary tract induces changes in renal structure including tubular dilatation or atrophy, tubular cell death, inflammatory processes, and progressive interstitial fibrosis with the loss of renal parenchyma. Canine Lymphoma as a Possible Human Lymphoma Model: A Case-Series Study
Saied Bokaie 한국임상수의학회 2023 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.40 No.3
Canine lymphoma (cL) is the most common hematopoietic cancer in dogs. Various determinants have been evaluated to find the predisposing factors in both human and canine lymphoma. Due to common risk factors and similar pathways, cL is considered a potential model for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in humans. In this case-series study, major hospitals in Tehran consented to take part in this study and between the years of 2020-2022, provided us with 52 cL cases which were approved by the attended pathologist. We designed a questionnaire and collected information about the dogs and their owners. Most of the owners were women, young (younger than 50 years old), had at least diplomas and interestingly were housewives or househusbands. Male dogs with middle to old age (more than 6 years) were mostly referred. The most common characteristics were neutered, normal BCS, purebred, urban but not industrial residence, previous tobacco smoke exposure but no history of previous fungi- cide or pesticide exposure. Also, most of them did not have any previous auto- immune or immunosuppressive diseases. Presented characteristics should be considered risk determinants but to approve their validity, they should be further evaluated in epidemiological studies.
MHD micropumping of power-law fluids: A numerical solution
Saied Moghaddam 한국유변학회 2013 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.25 No.1
The performance of MHD micropumps is studied numerically assuming that the viscosity of the fluid is shear-dependent. Using power-law model to represent the fluid of interest, the effect of power-law exponent, N, is investigated on the volumetric flow rate in a rectangular channel. Assuming that the flow is laminar, incompressible, two-dimensional, but (approximately) unidirectional, finite difference method (FDM) is used to solve the governing equations. It is found that shear-thinning fluids provide a larger flow rate as compared to Newtonian fluids provided that the Hartmann number is above a critical value. There exists also an optimum Hartmann number (which is larger than the critical Hartmann number) at which the flow rate is maximum. The power-law exponent, N, strongly affects the optimum geometry depending on the Hartmann number being smaller or larger than the critical Hartmann number.
