Six independent clinical isolates of staphylococci were tested for expression of haemolysin characteristic of Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) and for the presence of DNA sequences with homology to S. aureus toxin genes. Six strains produced a thermostable haemolysin with greatest activity against sheep erythrocytes. DNA-DNA hybridization was performed with Staphylococcus lugdunensis(S. aureus) DNA and S. aureus and proved with the δ toxin gene probes of S. aureus as well as that for coagulase. Hybridization was found with the δ probe in six strains. These fingdings suggests that S. lugdunensis strains produce a δ-like toxin which shares homology with the δ toxin of S. aureus.

Objective : The use of herbal therapy is becoming an increasingly attractive approach for the treatment of various inflammatory disorders. The Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma is popular in Aisa as a traditional herbal medicine. Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma is a species of the ginger family(Zingiberacease). Method : This study was performed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract by the methods of "carrageenan induced paw edema" and "Lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory mediators in mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells". Result : We suggest that Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract decreased paw volume induced by plantar injection of carrageenan. Also Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract inhibited nitric oxide, prostaglandin E₂production and induced nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression in Mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. Conclusion : This study shows that Alpiniae officinari Rhizoma extract seems to have anti-inflammatory effect by inhibition of nitric oxide, prostaglandin E_(2) production and nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression.

객체 관계형 DBMS 기반의 XML 문서 저장 스키마 설계

Each XML document can be represented by using elements which form a hierarchical structure. In order to store and manage XML documents in database systems, many researches have been done on XML storage systems. When we use relational DBMSs to store XML documents, it is complicate to transform XML documents of hierarchical structures into relational schema of flat tabular forms. In this paper, we developed a method storing XML documents by using an object-relational DBMS. First, we devised a method for transforming XML DTDs into object-relational schema including set type, reference type, and inheritance which don't exist in relational DBMSs. Second, we incorporate a method to minimize hierarchical structures of XML documents by using finite automata theory. With this minimization process, we will be able to get more compact and more normalized database schema for the given XML documents. Finally, we also compared the proposed method with the existing ones for the performance of data retrieval.

Furosemide가 생쥐 신장의 Alkaline Phosphatase와 Lactate Dehydrogenase의 활성에 미치는 영향

Furosemide가 생쥐 신장의 재흡수에 관여하는 alkaline phosphatase와 glucose 신생합성이나 초기 병리학적인 소견을 지시하는 세포질내 효소인 lactate dehydrogenase 활성에 미치는 영향을 조직 화학적으로 효소의 소재에 따른 변화를 규명하고자 하였다. Alkaline phosphatase 활성은 주로 근위세뇨관 상피 세포의 쇄자연에서 일어나 투여 4시간군에서 부터 저하되기 시작했으며 latctate dehydrogenase 활성변화는 근위세뇨관의 상피 세포질내에서 일어나 투여 12시간군부터 저하되기 시작했다. This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of furosemide upon renal enzymes in the mous. Furosemide 0.1 mg was injected intraperitoneally twice a day for four days. Histochemical studies were observed on the activities of alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogellase in mouse kidney. The following results were obtained: 1.The activity of alkaline phosphatase befall to decrease from th 4 hour group in the brush border of the proximal tubules. 2.The activity of lactate dehydrogenase began to decrease from the 12 hour group in the proximal tubules.

제7차 교육과정에 따른 국어과 읽기·쓰기 수행평가 연구(Ⅰ)

이 연구에서는 제7차 교육과정에 따라 초등학교에서 읽기와 쓰기의 수행평가를 실제적으로 적용하는 방안에 대하여 연구하였다. 제7차 국어과 읽기 교과서에서 '되돌아보기' 학습 면을 둔 것은 전체적으로 수행평가를 현실화하는데 긍정적 기여를 하고 있으나 실제로 분석해보니 단원별로 부족한 부분이 많았다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 되돌아보기 학습면을 보완한 학습지와 성취기준, 평가기준, 평가기록표를 개발하였다. 이 방안을 초등학교 교실에 한 학기 동안 적용하고, 수행평가의 현장 적용 가능성과 교수·학습 개선여부를 살펴보았다. 연구 방법은 개발 연구, 사례연구, 질적 연구, 관찰, 면담, 전문가 협의회 개최등의 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 교과서 되돌아보기를 보완한 읽기 수행평가 방안은 학생의 읽기 발달에 관한 질적 정보를 수집하는 방법이라는 결론을 얻었다. This paper have developed performance assessment strategies for reading and writing as the 7th Korean National Curriculum, and applied them one elementary school 6th grade classroom during one semester. There is review pages in every reading textbook chapters of 7th korean national curriculum. This contribute to performance assessment. But some of them is not so good. So we developed common tools, achievement standards, assessment standard, report card to compensate review pages, and to apply performance assessments. Method of study is case study, developing study, qualitative study, observation, interview, and panel conference. As a results, this performance assessment strategy could many good developmental informations of students.

CIM의 戰略的 統合 槪念 考察 : 獨逸 製造企業의 自動化 事例 Focused on the examples of automatization in German companies

In these day, automatization in manufacturing companies is definitely needed to promote productivity and improve quality through the way of attaining superiority in strategic competitiveness. Also, we now, without any doubt in this rapidly changing world, realize the fact that the manufacturing industry growth plays an important role on this diversification. Furthermore, the efficiency in systematic operations and integration is absolutely required. Even though the responses to this trend which is widely used are fairly favorable for their promotion of productivity and management, automatization standards are not yet perfect enough to confront with those of international competition. In near future, therefore, it is our responsibility to settle the technological gap on both scale and regional automatization. CIM is required to use computers strategically as the mean of reinforcement of competitive power and differentiation. CIM depends on the establishment of managerial strategy. Besides manufacturing businesses are divided into various kinds wuch as banks, transportation business, distribution industry, etc. Unfortunately, there are not complete setting up about CIM in any company up to now. In addition, there are a few companies which are integrated and automatized well. It is true that Germany has very low rate of companies which meet the standards gighly enough to offer real "on-the-job" experiences. Still many investigators have studied the solution of the problems. But no experts including the users who produce the computer-integrated-manufacturing could yet propose the special programs. There is one clear thing: Because the future CIM is not to create the super computer system but build up a subsystem after building it, CIM application should be made according to the plans and purposes at the same time. It is important to keep accurate information, right human resources in long-term application. That makes it possible for CIM to settle. Also, we are strongly asked to have great concern about CIM and need cooperation from both academic fields and governmental participation with positive attitudes from all the related authorities.
