MMDAE: Dialog scenario editor for MMDAgent on the web browser

We have developed MMDAgent (a fully open-source toolkit for voice interaction systems), which runs on a variety of platforms such as personal computers and smartphones. From this, the editing environment of the dialog scenario also needs to be operated on various platforms. So, we develop a scenario editor that is implemented on a Web browser. The purpose of this paper also includes making it easy to edit the scenario. Experiments were conducted for subjects using the proposed scenario editor. It was found that our proposed system provides better readability of a scenario and allows easier editing.

Globalization has been discussed as an important market environment in various territories. Maritime industry is also closely associated with globalization. Together with globalization, faster, more reliable, and cheaper maritime transport services have facilitated the expansion of global trade. With the development of emerging economies, the maritime industry had increased dramatically. The rise of China as the world manufacturing center was a key driver of this growth. Since 2008, however, there have been some declines because of the global financial crisis. It is not easy for container ports to have a sufficient container cargo volumes including transshipment. Therefore, container ports in individual countries require effective strategies for generating sufficient container traffic. Through a country-level analysis, this paper is designed to empirically investigate the influences of globalization on individual container ports` internal capabilities and transshipment traffic volumes.
Evaluation of Reduction Effect in Traffic Accidents Based on Time Series Reliability Model

In recent years, various kinds of research related to alarm systems which prevent traffic accidents has been reported. However, there are few which evaluated the effects of reducing driver’s reaction time during unpredictable risks on decreasing traffic accidents. In this study, a methodology for estimating the collision mitigation ratio is discussed, using a collision-prevention system that supplies aroma to drivers whose cognitive attentiveness has decreased due to a prolonged driving. First, we investigated driving action at intersections during use of the system in a driving simulator. The results showed that reaction time to the crossing vehicle was significantly reduced when a driver used the aroma-supplying collision-prevention system. In addition, a system that doesn’t supply aroma could cause a decrease in driver’s attentiveness. The Time Series Reliability Model, which is a driver-model considering the driver’s time-series cognitive status, is constructed and the collision mitigation ratio is estimated. The results suggested that the collision ratio increased during the use of a system that presents only information, since the driver depended on the system information and the driver’s safety confirmation actions were inhibited. Meanwhile, the collision ratio decreased during the use of the aroma-supplying system since reaction time to the crossing vehicle was reduced by an effect on stress reduction. It can be concluded that traffic accidents at intersections are reduced by using the aroma-supplying system.

The bleeding complication risk of surgery or percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage (PTGBD) may increase in patients withacute cholecystitis receiving antithrombotic therapy (ATT). Endoscopic gallbladder drainage (EGBD) may be recommended forsuch patients. English articles published between 1991 and 2018 in peer-reviewed journals that discuss cholecystectomy, PTGBD, andEGBD in patients with ATT or coagulopathy were reviewed to assess the safety of the procedures, especially in terms of the bleedingcomplication. There were 8 studies on cholecystectomy, 3 on PTGBD, and 1 on endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder drainage (ETGBD)in patients receiving ATT. With respect to EGBD, 28 studies on ETGBD (including 1 study already mentioned above) and 26 studies onendoscopic ultrasound-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD) were also analyzed. The overall bleeding complication rate in patientswith ATT who underwent cholecystectomy was significantly higher than that in patients without ATT (6.5% [23/354] vs. 1.2% [26/2,224],p<0.001). However, the bleeding risk of cholecystectomy and PTGBD in patients receiving ATT was controversial. The overall technicalsuccess, clinical success, and bleeding complication rates of ETGBD vs. EUS-GBD were 84% vs. 96% (p<0.001), 92% vs. 97% (p<0.001),and 0.65% vs. 2.1% (p=0.005), respectively. One patient treated with ETGBD experienced bleeding complication among 191 patientswith bleeding tendency. ETGBD may be an ideal drainage procedure for patients receiving ATT from the viewpoint of bleeding,although EUS-GBD is also effcacious.
자민당의 쇠퇴는 계속되는가? -2010년 일본 참의원 선거 검토

2010년 일본의 상원(참의원) 선거에서 자민당은 성공적으로 회복하며, 51개의 의석을 차지하였다. 2001년 이래로 자민당이 민주당보다 더 많은 의석을 차지한 것은 이번이 처음이었으며, 역시 2001년 이래 50석 이상 차지한 것도 처음이었다. 그러나 의석 수에 있어서의 자민당의 회복이 유권자 사이에서의 지지 증가에 의해 초래된 것은 아니었다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 자민당에 대한 지지 증가 결여의 이유를 도시 수준에서의 선거자료 분석을 통해 살펴본다. 특히 고이즈미 내각에 의해 실행된 지방재정 관련 "삼위일체 개혁" (Trinity Reforms)과 지방 정부 경계를 수정한 도시 합병에 초점을 맞춘다. 이 논문은 이 두 가지 정책이 그 동안 자민당의 선거 활동을 지탱해 주었던 후견주의(clientelism)를 무너뜨렸으며, 그에 따라 자민당 지지의 지속적인 하락을 가져왔다는 몇 개의 가설을 검증해 보고자 한다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 지역구 수준에서 자민당의 득표율 감소는 재정구조 개혁과 도시 합병에 상당히 영향을 받은 것으로 나타났다. 비록 그 영향력이 작았지만, 자민당의 비례대표 득표율 또한 도시 합병으로 인해 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 자민당이 2010년 상원 선거에서 득표율을 증가시킬 수 없었던 이유는 이전의 후견주의적 지지 구조를 대체하지 못했으며, 다양한 개혁의 지속적인 영향력 때문이라고 본 연구는 주장한다. In Japan`s 2010 Upper House Elections (hereinafter referred to as, "2010UH"), the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) enjoyed an excellent recovery, winning 51 seats. It was the first time they had won more seats than the DPJ since 2001, which was also the last time they won more than 50 seats. However, we can see that the LDP`s recovery in terms of seats won was not caused by an increase in support among the electorate. In this paper, we investigate the reasons behind the lack of increased support by analyzing electoral data on the municipal level. In particular, we focus on the public finance-related ``Trinity Reforms`` implemented by the Koizumi cabinet and the ``merging of municipalities`` that revised local government boundaries. We attempt to verify some hypotheses based on the idea that these two policies destroyed the clientelism that had supported the LDP`s electoral activities for years, and encouraged a continued decline in support for the party. The results of the analysis show clearly that, in the district vote, the decline in the LDP`s vote share was significantly influenced by fiscal structural reforms and the merging of municipalities. Though the influence was small, the analysis showed the LDP`s proportional vote share also fell due to merged municipalities. Then we argued that the reasons the LDP were unable to increase their vote share in 2010UH is their inability to replace their previous clientelistic support structure, and the continuing effects of various reforms.
Tuning of Controller Parameters by FCbT with Stability Constraints for Non-minimum Phase Plants

We propose the controller tuning method considering closed-loop stability after tuning without the identified plant model. The methods are formulated as a model reference control problem in which the reference model is chosen by the user. In the case of non-minimum phase systems, the unstable zeros of the plant need to be included in the reference model to avoid unstable pole-zero cancellation. This paper proposes the model-free controller tuning for non-minimum phase plants estimating its unstable zeros by the flexible reference model in the process of parameter updates. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation examples.

Fish consumption is well known to provide health benefits in both experimental animals and human subjects. Numerous studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of various protein hydrolysates on lipid metabolism. In this context, this study examined the effect of fish protein hydrolysates (FPH) on cholesterol metabolism compared with the effect of casein. FPHs were prepared from Alaska pollock meat using papain as a protease. Male Wistar rats were divided into the following four dietary groups of seven rats each: either casein (20%) or FPH (10%) + casein (10%), with or without 0.5% cholesterol and 0.1% sodium cholate. Serum and liver lipid levels, fecal cholesterol and bile acid excretions, and the hepatic expression of genes encoding proteins involved in cholesterol homeostasis were examined. In rats fed the FPH diets compared with casein diets with or without cholesterol and sodium cholate, the indexes of cholesterol metabolism—namely, serum cholesterol, triglyceride, and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels—were significantly lower, whereas fecal cholesterol and bile acid excretions were higher. Rats fed the FPH diets compared with casein with cholesterol exhibited a lower liver cholesterol level via an increased liver cholesterol 7a-hydroxylase (CYP7A1) expression level. This study demonstrates that the intake of FPH has hypocholesterolemic effects through the enhancement of fecal cholesterol and bile acid excretions and CYP7A1 expression levels. Therefore, fish peptides prepared by papain digestion might provide health benefits by decreasing the cholesterol content in the blood, which would contribute to the prevention of circulatory system diseases such as arteriosclerosis.
