Fabrication and Properties of Double Perovskite SrLaVRuO6

Polycrystalline bulk and epitaxial thin film samples of double-perovskite SrLaVRuO6 were prepared,and their magnetic and electrical properties were investigated. Structural characterizationon the bulk samples has revealed that a double-perovskite phase can be formed in coexistence withthe secondary phase of nonmagnetic semiconducting Sr3V2O8. Magnetic and electrical investigationshave shown that the double-perovskite SrLaVRuO6 compound is an antiferromagnetic metal. Moreover, it has been found that epitaxy using a lattice-matched substrate leads to suppression ofthe Sr3V2O8 secondary phase and promoting growth of phase-pure double-perovskite SrLaVRuO6.
Flow characteristics and rheological properties of propane hydrate slurry

Propane hydrate is crystalline solids resulting from the arrangement of water molecules linked by hydrogen bonds constituting cages around propane molecules. The propane hydrate slurry is composed of water and fine propane hydrate crystals, and is attracting as transportation and storage medium of the propane. In this study, the flow characteristics and rheological properties of the propane hydrate slurry in a circular tube were investigated. The hydrate volume fraction and the flow rate of the slurry were varied as experimental parameters. As a result, it was found that the pressure drop increases with the solid fraction and the flow rate. Furthermore, in order to evaluate the rheological properties, the relationship between shear stress and shear rate was also discussed. From the results, the propane hydrate slurry could be regarded as a Bingham fluid. Finally, the correlation to predict the apparent viscosity and the yield stress was proposed as a function of the volume fraction. Moreover, it was found that solid phase doesn’t affect the flow characteristics of the hydrate slurry in turbulent flow region.

Chin on chest deformity caused by upper cervical kyphosis associated with ankylosing spondylitis is rare. A 66-year-old woman presented at our institute with chief complaints of difficulty in horizontal gaze and opening her mouth. Cervical radiographs showed a C0–2 angle of 1° on flexion and 7° on extension, and her chin-brow vertical angle was 49°. We planned fixation surgery at C0–5 posteriorly to prevent the progression of kyphosis, with slight correction of the kyphosis at C0–2. The correction was performed by pushing down the over lordotically contoured titanium rods connected to an occipital plate onto the C3–5 lateral mass screws, just like cantilever technique. No palpable cracking or loss of resistance was noticed during the correction. However, intraoperative radiographs revealed apparent anterior separation of the vertebral bodies between C3 and C4. Postoperative computed tomography images at the C3/4 level suggested hemorrhage from the fracture site. Tracheostomy was performed because of massive edema around the pharynx. To secure solid bone fusion, staged surgery to extend the fusion to T3 and to graft an additional iliac bone was performed. Fortunately, the C2–7 angle was corrected to 40°, and her chin-brow vertical angle was restored to 17° without any catastrophic complications. Although the patient finally obtained an ideal sagittal alignment, the surgeon should be aware that the technique had a higher perioperative risk for iatrogenic fracture, resulting in neurological and vascular injuries.

본연구는 최신 IT 기술(인공지능, 빅데이터, 사물인터넷)이 제조업에 끼치는 영향에 대한 분석이다. 일본의 제조업을 대표하는 도요타 자동차가 2016년에 미국 실리콘 밸리에, 인공지능 기술에 관한 R&D 거점 회사를 설립했다. 미국기업은 물론, 일본에서도 최신 IT 기술에 관한 조직을 신설하는 기업이 증가하고 있다. 그러나, 구체적으로 어떻게 IT 기술을 접목시켜 경영에 활용하는가에 대해서는 사회과학적논의가 아직 불충분하다. 그래서 본연구는 최신 IT 기술이 제조업에 끼치는 영향에 관해, 서플라이 체인의 최전선인 일본의 물류기업 히타치물류가 타사와의 차별화를 위해 준비하고 있는 “스마트 로지스틱 (logistic 4.0)” 개발 사례를 통해서, 프로세스와 효과, 활용방법 등을 밝힌다. 더나아가 이러한 최신 IT 기술이 히타치물류 업무 프로세스에 미치는 영향도 분석했다. 스마트 로지스틱 (logistic 4.0)은 최신 IT 기술을 이용해, 물류기업에 있어 중점 개선사항이라고 생각되는 1) 창고ㆍ서플라이 체인의 설계와 활용, 2) 거점간 운송 최적화, 3) 창고작업 효율화, 4) 물류정보의 가시화, 5) 현장개선책에 긍정적 효과를 가져와, 결과적으로 히타치물류는 물류 서비스를 이용하는 고객들에게 스마트 로지스틱 4.0 을 활용한 제안이 가능하게 됐다. 그리고 이러한 스마트 로지스틱 (logistic 4.0) 도입은 고객에 제공하는 서비스의 진화뿐만이 아니라, 히타치물류의 기존 업무 프로세스의 변화에도 영향을 미치고 있음을 인터뷰 조사를 통해서 규명했다.

This study focuses on adhered dirt such as dust on a product in production process, and considers the relationship between dirt levels of inspection surface and defect detection in visual inspection utilizing peripheral vision. Specifically, images of an inspection surface in an actual factory are analyzed using image analysis for modeling dirt. Moreover, dirt levels of inspection surface, defect locations, and defect characteristics (luminance contrast, size, and bright-dark defects) are designed as experimental factors, and their effect on defect detection rate is evaluated. As a result, it is clarified that the defect detection rate suddenly reduces as the inspection surface becomes dirtier. Consequently, the defects that can be detected easily becomes harder to detect, as the inspection surface is dirtier in visual inspection utilizing peripheral vision.
Advertising Distinctiveness and Consumer Memory in Competitive Ad Environments

It is becoming increasingly difficult for advertisers to reach target consumers because memory for an ad is inhibited in the presence of competing ads. While previous studies have focused on ad repetition as a factor that can reduce competitive interference, this study focuses on ad distinctiveness. We compare the effects of ad distinctiveness on recall for the ad and its competing ad in high competitive ad environments with those in relatively low competitive ad environments. Regarding the effect of ad distinctiveness on recall for the focal ad, the results show that when an advertiser makes its ad distinctive, recall for its own ad is enhanced in both high and low competitive ad environments although the positive effect is relatively weak in high competitive environments. The results also show that, regarding the effect of ad distinctiveness on recall for its competing ad, when an advertiser makes its ad distinctive, recall for its competing ad is enhanced in low competitive ad environments rather than in high competitive ad environments.
