      • Regulatory Mechanisms of Annexin-Induced Chemotherapy Resistance in Cisplatin Resistant Lung Adenocarcinoma

        Wang, Chao,Xiao, Qian,Li, Yu-Wen,Zhao, Chao,Jia, Na,Li, Rui-Li,Cao, Shan-Shan,Cui, Jia,Wang, Lu,Wu, Yin,Wen, Ai-Dong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.7

Adenocarcinoma of lung has high incidence and a poor prognosis, woith chemotherapy as the main therapeutic tool, most commonly with cisplatin. However, chemotherapy resistance develops in the majority of patients during clinic treatment. Mechanisms of resistance are complex and still unclear. Although annexin play important roles in various tumor resistance mechanisms, their actions in cisplatin-resistant lung adenocarcinoma remain unclear. Preliminary studies by our group found that in cisplatin-resistant lung cancer A549 cells and lung adenocarcinoma tissues, both mRNA and protein expression of annexins A1, A2 and A3 is increased. Using a library of annexin A1, A2 and A3 targeting combined molecules already established by ourselves we found that specific targeting decreased cisplatin-resistance. Taken together, the underlined effects of annexins A1, A2 and A3 on drug resistance and suggest molecular mechanisms in cisplatin-resistant A549 cells both in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, the study points to improved research on occurrence and development of lung adenocarcinoma, with provision of effective targets and programmes for lung adenocarcinoma therapy in the clinic.

Effect of BiFeO3 addition on Bi2O3–ZnO–Nb2O5 based ceramics

        Xiaolian Chao,Zupei Yang,Chao Kang,Rui Gu 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.1

In this paper, low temperature sintering of the Bi2(Zn1/3Nb2/3)2O7 (b-BZN) dielectric ceramics was studied with the use of BiFeO3 as a sintering aid. The effects of BiFeO3 contents and the sintering temperature on the phase structure, density and dielectric properties were investigated. The results showed that the sintering temperature could be decreased and the dielectric properties could be retained by the addition of BiFeO3. The structure of BiFeO3 doped b-BZN was still the monoclinic pyrochlore phase. The sintering temperature of BiFeO3 doped b-BZN ceramics was reduced from 1000 ℃ to 920 ℃. In the case of 0.15wt.% BiFeO3 addition, the b-BZN ceramics sintered at 920 ℃ exhibited good dielectric properties, which were listed as follows: εr = 79 and tan δ = 0.00086 at a frequency of 1 MHz. The obtained properties make this composition to be a good candidate for the LTCC application.

Complete mitochondrial genome of a kind of snakehead fish Channa siamensis and its phylogenetic consideration

        Rui Li,Gang Wang,Zheng‑Yong Wen,Yuan‑Chao Zou,Chuan‑Jie Qin,Yu Luo,Jun Wang,Gui‑Hong Chen 한국유전학회 2019 Genes & Genomics Vol.41 No.2

The snakehead fish, Channa siamensis, belongs to the genus of Channa (perciformes: Channidae) and was first reported by Günther in 1861. Despite it has been described approximately for 15 decades, the genetic information is limited and the taxon status of this kind of fish is still unclear. The primary objective of this study is to get more genomic data and calculate the taxon location of this kind of fish. The next generation sequencing method was used to obtain the whole mitochondrial DNA information, and bioinformatic analysis was performed to investigate the evolutionary status and taxon location of C. siamensis. The circular mitochondrial DNA was 16,570 bp in length, and which showed typical piscine structure and arrangement. The overall nucleotide composition was 29.28% A, 24.72% T, 30.71% C, 15.29% G, with 54.1% AT, respectively. Phylogenetic analyses using concatenated amino acid and nucleotide sequences of the 13 protein-coding genes with two different methods (Maximum likelihood and Bayesian analysis) both highly supported C. siamensis belongs to the genus Channa and shows a close relationship with C. micropeltes. These data will provide more useful information for a better understanding of the mitochondrial genomic diversities and evolution in fish as well as novel genetic markers for studying population genetics and species identification.

Complete $f$-moment convergence for extended negatively dependent random variables under sub-linear expectations

        Chao Lu,Rui Wang,Xuejun Wang,Yi Wu 대한수학회 2020 대한수학회지 Vol.57 No.6

In this paper, we investigate the complete $f$-moment convergence for extended negatively dependent (END, for short) random variables under sub-linear expectations. We extend some results on complete $f$-moment convergence from the classical probability space to the sub-linear expectation space. As applications, we present some corollaries on complete moment convergence for END random variables under sub-linear expectations.

      • Natural Corners-based Two-Dimensional (2D) SLAM with Partial Compatibility Algorithm in Indoor Environment

        Rui-Jun Yan,Jing Wu,Chao Yuan,Ji-Yeong Lee,Chang-Soo Han 제어로봇시스템학회 2014 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2014 No.10

This paper presents a natural corners-based two-dimensional (2D) Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) with a robust data association algorithm in a real unknown environment. The corners are extracted from raw laser sensor data and chosen as landmarks for correcting the pose of mobile robot and building the map. In the proposed data association method, the extracted corners in every step are separated into several groups with small numbers of corners. In each group, the local best matching vector between the new corners and the stored ones is found by joint compatibility, while the nearest feature for every new corner is checked by individual compatibility. All these groups with local best matching vector and nearest feature candidate of each new corner are combined by partial compatibility with the linear matching time. The SLAM experiment results in an indoor environment based on the extracted corners show good robustness and low computation complexity of the proposed algorithms in comparison with existing methods.

Characterization of the Methylation Status of Pax7 and Myogenic Regulator Factors in Cell Myogenic Differentiation

        Chao, Zhe,Zheng, Xin-Li,Sun, Rui-Ping,Liu, Hai-Long,Huang, Li-Li,Cao, Zong-Xi,Deng, Chang-Yan,Wang, Feng Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2016 Animal Bioscience Vol.29 No.7

Epigenetic processes in the development of skeletal muscle have been appreciated for over a decade. DNA methylation is a major epigenetic modification important for regulating gene expression and suppressing spurious transcription. Up to now, the importance of epigenetic marks in the regulation of Pax7 and myogenic regulatory factors (MRFs) expression is far less explored. In the present study, semi-quantitative the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analyses showed MyoD and Myf5 were expressed in activated and quiescent C2C12 cells. MyoG was expressed in a later stage of myogenesis. Pax7 was weakly expressed in differentiated C2C12 cells. To further understand the regulation of expression of these genes, the DNA methylation status of Pax7, MyoD, and Myf5 was determined by bisulfite sequencing PCR. During the C2C12 myoblasts fusion process, the changes of promoter and exon 1 methylation of Pax7, MyoD, and Myf5 genes were observed. In addition, an inverse relationship of low methylation and high expression was found. These results suggest that DNA methylation may be an important mechanism regulating Pax7 and MRFs transcription in cell myogenic differentiation.

Extraction of Different Types of Geometrical Features from Raw Sensor Data of Two-dimensional LRF

        Rui-Jun Yan(염서군),Jing Wu(무경),Chao Yuan(원조),Chang-Soo Han(한창수) 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어·로봇·시스템학회 논문지 Vol.21 No.3

This paper describes extraction methods of five different types of geometrical features (line, arc, corner, polynomial curve, NURBS curve) from the obtained raw data by using a two-dimensional laser range finder (LRF). Natural features with their covariance matrices play a key role in the realization of feature-based simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), which can be used to represent the environment and correct the pose of mobile robot. The covariance matrices of these geometrical features are derived in detail based on the raw sensor data and the uncertainty of LRF. Several comparison are made and discussed to highlight the advantages and drawbacks of each type of geometrical feature. Finally, the extracted features from raw sensor data obtained by using a LRF in an indoor environment are used to validate the proposed extraction methods.

Isolation and Identification of Lipopeptide Antibiotics from Paenibacillus elgii B69 with Inhibitory Activity Against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

        Rui Ding,Chao-Dong Qian,Yi Teng,Ou Li,Zha-Jun Zhan,Yu-Hua Zhao,Xue-Chang Wu 한국미생물학회 2011 The journal of microbiology Vol.49 No.6

Two lipopeptide antibiotics, pelgipeptins C and D, were isolated from Paenibacillus elgii B69 strain. The molecular masses of the two compounds were both determined to be 1,086 Da. Mass-spectrometry, amino acid analysis and NMR spectroscopy indicated that pelgipeptin C was the same compound as BMY-28160, while pelgipeptin D was identified as a new antibiotic of the polypeptin family. These two peptides were active against all the tested microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant pathogenic bacterial strains such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Time-kill assays demonstrated that pelgipeptin D exhibited rapid and effective bactericidal action against MRSA at 4×MIC. Based on acute toxicity test, the intraperitoneal LD50 value of pelgipeptin D was slightly higher than that of the structurally related antimicrobial agent polymyxin B. Pelgipeptins are highly potent antibacterial and antifungal agents, particularly against MRSA, and warrant further investigation as possible therapeutic agents for bacteria infections resistant to currently available antibiotics.

      • Design and Evaluation of a Three-axis Force/Torque Sensor for Humanoid Robot Balance Control

        Chao Yuan,Rui-Jun Yan,Jing Wu,Sang Ho Kim,Kyoo-Sik Shin,Chang-Soo Han 제어로봇시스템학회 2014 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2014 No.10

For decades, popular culture has been enthralled with the possibility of robots that act and look like human. Walking, as one of the most important features of human, needs to be well implemented by humanoid robots. In order to perform stable robot gait, it is necessary to control the position of the Zero Moment Point (ZMP) of the robot. To calculate the ZMP, forces and moments under robot feet are important information to use. Thus, in this paper, we describe the development of a three-axis force/torque sensor to measure forces under robot feet in walking movement. The key point of this sensor is that it is very thin and light so as to not disturb the robots’ gait. It also has sufficient stiffness to support heavy load. The simple structure and low cost of this sensor are also attractive points. Finite element analysis results of the sensor revealed that it is adequate to be used under robot feet.

Research on Control Technology of Variable Curvature Bending Springback Based on Iterative Compensation Method

Rui Ma,Chao Ma,Ruixue Zhai,Jun Zhao 한국정밀공학회 2022 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.23 No.5

The springback control method is usually based on surface compensation to make the shape of the springback consistent with the target. At present, it is mainly realized by theoretical calculation or numerical simulation, but the difference between material model and theoretical model leads to unstable compensation accuracy. In this paper, a compensation mechanism which based on the iterative principle of implicit equation is proposed from the point of view of mathematical analysis. The final shape of the part converges to the target shape by means of finite compensation with the iterative method. In this paper, the iterative compensation mechanism is applied to the free bending and stretch-bending processes under plane stress state, and the uniform curvature and variable curvature are compensated iteratively. The next iteration compensation profile is predicted according to the convergence of the iterative principle. Experimental results show that the iterative compensation method can predict the next compensation value, and the error is less than the target value after 2–3 iterations. The error convergence of the method studied in this project is directional and the convergence speed is fast. The compensation value can be quantitatively predicted, which has theoretical significance and application value for engineering design, mold repair and numerical simulation.
