Background: In Mexico, breast cancer (BCa) is in first place regarding cancer mortality and has been established as a priority health issue. The incidence of metastasis from BCa is very high and presents as the principal mortality factor among women younger than 40 years of age. OBJECTIVE. To determine any associations between clinicopathological characteristics and metastasis in Mexican women under 40 years of age. Methods: During the 2010-2015 period, a total of 180 female BCa cases seen at the Navy General High Specialty Hospital, SEMAR, in Mexico City; we collected information on 20 patients with BCa younger than 40 years of age. Statistical analyses were conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Students t, Fisher, Chi square, and Mantel-Haenszel tests. Results: The prevalence of women with BCa younger than the age of 40 years during the 2010-2015 period was 13.3%. We found a high frequency of obesity in of these cases (>75%); 100% of obese patients with a history of smoking presented with metastasis (p <0.05). In addition, the hormone phenotype was important; HER2-positive cases were 12 times more likely tto exhibit metastasis (p <0.05), while expression of estrogen and progesterone receptors appeared to be protective. Diabetes mellitus in combination with smoking was also a risk factor for development of metastasis (p <0.05). Conclusion: In this study, we obtained essential data regarding risk of metastasis in young breast cancer cases which could be useful for predicting disease evolution and treatment response.

<P>This study focused on the analysis of the frequency spectra of impact sounding test performed on composite slabs with different interlayer condition. Distinct and consistent characteristics of the frequency spectra were observed from the impact signals. The consistency of results for bonding condition at varying temperature was also investigated. Results of laboratory tests were compared to different bonding condition observed in the field. Finally, a proposed decision matrix analysis was presented and successfully identified the interface bonding condition. The proposed decision matrix is composed of four zones characterizing each interlayer condition based on the features of impact signals. Field and laboratory assessment conform to decision matrix result.</P>
Clavipectoral plane block as a sole anesthetic technique for clavicle surgery - A case report -
Rosales Aileen Lagmay,Aypa Noel Singson 대한마취통증의학회 2022 Anesthesia and pain medicine Vol.17 No.1
Background: The clavipectoral fascial plane block was introduced by Dr. Luis Valdes in a symposium at the 2017 European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Therapy Congress. Case: Clavipectoral plane block (CPB) with intravenous sedation provided surgical anesthesia and analgesia in a 39-year-old male patient with a right midshaft clavicle fracture. This in-plane technique was used to deposit 30 ml of a local anesthesia mixture between the clavipectoral fascia and periosteum on both the medial and lateral sides of the fracture line. Conclusions: Excellent anesthesia and analgesia for up to 16 h post-block were provided by CPB during the clavicle surgery.

The tejocote (Crataegus spp.) is a tree considered to be native to Mexico. The aim of this study was to identify the causal agent of tejocote rust in the State of Puebla. Tejocote fruits were sampled in 2012 and 2013. The fungus was studied morphologically using light and scanning electron microscopy and molecularly using phylogenetic analysis of 18S and 28S rDNA genes. The fungus was identified as Gymnosporangium clavipes on tejocote fruits. To our knowledge, this is the first confirmed report of Gymnosporangium clavipes Cooke & Peck affecting Crataegus mexicana var. Chapeado and C. gracilior in Puebla Mexico.
Addition of a Worm Leachate as Source of Humic Substances in the Drinking Water of Broiler Chickens
Gomez-Rosales, S.,Angeles, M. De L. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2015 Animal Bioscience Vol.28 No.2
The objective of this research was to evaluate the growth performance, the apparent ileal digestibility of nitrogen and energy, the retention of nutrients and the apparent metabolizable energy corrected to zero nitrogen retention (AMEn) in broiler chickens supplemented with increasing doses of a worm leachate (WL) as a source of humic substances (HS) in the drinking water. In Exp. 1, 140 male broilers were penned individually and assigned to four WL levels (0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%) mixed in the drinking water from 21 to 49 days of age. Water was offered in plastic bottles tied to the cage. In Exp. 2, 600 male broilers from 21 to 49 days of age housed in floor pens were assigned to three levels of WL (0%, 10%, and 20%) mixed in the drinking water. The WL was mixed with tap water in plastic containers connected by plastic tubing to bell drinkers. The results of both experiments were subjected to analysis of variance and polynomial contrasts. In Exp. 1, the daily water consumption was similar among treatments but the consumption of humic, fulvic, and total humic acids increased linearly (p<0.01) as the WL increased in the drinking water. The feed conversion (p<0.01) and the ileal digestibility of energy, the excretion of dry matter and energy, the retention of dry matter, ash and nitrogen and the AMEn showed quadratic responses (p<0.05) relative to the WL levels in drinking water. In Exp. 2, the increasing level of WL in the drinking water had quadratic effects on the final body weight, daily weight gain and feed conversion ratio (p<0.05). The addition of WL as a source of HS in the drinking water had beneficial effects on the growth performance, ileal digestibility of energy, the retention of nutrients as well on the AMEn in broiler chickens; the best results were observed when the WL was mixed at levels of 20% to 30% in the drinking water.

The genetic diversity and population structure of Escherichia coli isolates from small-scale dairy farms were used to assess the ability of E. coli to spread within the farm environment and between neighboring farms. A total of 164 E. coli isolates were obtained from bovine feces, bedding, cow teats and milk from 6 small-scale dairy farms. Ward’s clustering grouped the isolates into 54 different random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) types at 95% similarity, regardless of either the sample type or the farm of isolation. This suggests that RAPD types are shared between bovine feces, bedding, cow teats, and milk. In addition, transmission of RAPD types between the studied farms was suggested by the Ward grouping pattern of the isolates, Nei’s and AMOVA population analyses, and genetic landscape shape analysis. For the first time, the latter analytical tool was used to assess the ability of E. coli to disseminate between small-scale dairy farms within the same producing region. Although a number of dispersal mechanisms could exist between farms, the genetic landscape shape analysis associated the flow of E. coli RAPD types with the movement of forage and milking staff between farms. This study will aid in planning disease prevention strategies and optimizing husbandry practices.

This paper focuses on the world city of Seoul as an alternative, temporary destination for creative class migrants from Latin America. The creative class is a concept developed by Richard Florida to describe, "creative individuals whose economic function is to create new ideas, technology and/or creative content." In this research, world city of ‘transfer’ refers to world cities ranked by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) that are of high middle (Alpha) to lower ranking and that become ‘temporary stops’ for the migrating creative classes, whose ultimate destinations are the Alpha+ and Alpha++ world cities. This research namely asks: (1) From the perspective of creative migrants from developing countries, what causes them to leave world ‘transfer’ cities, such as Seoul, and not settle there long term? and (2) What kind of policies can be applied to help creative migrants stay in these cities permanently? Social integration policies should be implemented when trying to further develop a world city’s quality of place. Qualitative research methods such as in-depth interviews with Latin American creative people were employed to demonstrate Seoul’s need for social integration policies aimed at retaining global talent and not just attracting it.
