Extension of the variational theory of complex rays to orthotropic shallow shell structures
Cattabiani, Alessandro,Barbarulo, Andrea,Riou, Herve,Ladeveze, Pierre Techno-Press 2016 Advances in aircraft and spacecraft science Vol.3 No.3
Nowadays, the interest of aerospace and automotive industries on virtual testing of medium-frequency vibrational behavior of shallow shell structures is growing. The development of software capable of predicting the vibrational response in such frequency range is still an open question because classical methods (i.e., FEM, SEA) are not fully suitable for the medium-frequency bandwidth. In this context the Variational Theory of Complex Rays (VTCR) is taking place as an ad-hoc technique to address medium-frequency problems. It is a Trefftz method based on a weak variational formulation. It allows great flexibility because any shape function that satisfies the governing equations can be used. This work further develops such theory. In particular, orthotropic materials are introduced in the VTCR formulation for shallow shell structures. A significant numerical example is proposed to show the strategy.
Identifying Creep and Destructuration Related Soil Parameters by Optimization Methods
Yin-Fu Jin,Zhen-Yu Yin,Yvon Riou,Pierre-Yves Hicher 대한토목학회 2017 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.21 No.4
The paper aims to construct an efficient optimization method for identifying creep and destructuration related governing parameters of soft structured clay. An elastic viscoplastic model has been developed and adopted. Different optimization processes, by genetic algorithm or particle swarm optimization with uniform or random samplings initialization methods, are carried out to obtain the material parameters from conventional undrained triaxial tests performed on a K0-concolidated natural soft clay. All comparisons demonstrate that the uniqueness of the solution is better guaranteed with the genetic algorithm rather than with the particle swarm optimization method. Furthermore, the efficiency of genetic algorithm has been verified by simulating other tests.

Anemia appears frequently in patients with alcoholic liver disease (ALD) but has never been linked to bilateral nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). A 65-year-old woman with a medical history of alcoholic cirrhosis was admitted for bilateral NAION. On admission, she was found to have a low arterial pressure and severe normocytic anemia (48 g/L). The anemia was related to chronic bleeding due to antral gastritis along with other factors associated with ALD. The applied treatment consisted of urgent transfusion followed by high doses of proton-pump inhibitors, iron and vitamin supplementation, and support in lifestyle measures. Her hemoglobin levels remained stable after 2 years but the patient still suffered from visual loss. This case highlights the link between anemia and bilateral NAION in ALD patients. The optic nerve head is prone to infarction in this context due to the vascularization characteristics of ALD. Hemoglobin levels should be monitored in ALD patients to avoid the severe complication of NAION.
1.4-Naphthoquinone 뮤도체의 항균 및 항진균 작용 : Antibacterial and antifungal activities
김경순,김경희,여성하,이재영,곽진 이화여자대학교약학회 1992 梨花藥學硏究 Vol.- No.31
In order to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of 1.4-naphthoquinone derivatives, we newly synthesized several 2-chloro and 2-bromo-1.4-naphthoquinones and subjectd to antibacterial and antifungal activities, in vitro, against Escherichia coli NIHJ< Staphylococcus aureus ATCC6538p, Candida albicans 10231 and Tricophton mentagrophtes 6085. Among these derivatives 2 and 7 showed the potent antibacterial activities. 2, 7 and 11 have the antifungal activities.
