Improving the Quality of Service (QOS) for the next generation of mobile broadband wireless networks standards; IEEE802.16x becomes the main target for many new researches. This is due to the long time to complete the handover process from the old connection to the new connection in the proposed standard design. In this paper, an improvement to the IEEE 802.11- based wireless mesh networks in terms of authentication latency is proposed. The current paper, proposes a new, easy, fast, and secure handover design. In addition to, a new security metric is presented, which is the ability of the authentication protocols to determine the identity of the users who make bad behaviors with a complete preservation to the privacy of the rest users. We can say that it's a very a difficult problem, due to the trade-off between the privacy and the non_ repudiation property. A formal authentication verification method is presented, using BAN logic analysis.

Network Security and Metrology : A Survey

Without the science of metrology, we lost the way of any research field. The science of metrology affects the science of network security in many sides. You have to measure in network security as you have to do in the other fields. You have to test and analyze and detect as in the other research areas. You must work hard to reach the standards level in network security as you make your best efforts to reach them in other science branches. From the other side, network security has a great effect on developing the science of metrology. In the present paper, many trends are introduced including the two viewpoints. The necessary requirements to research and development in network security and metrology are proposed. Finally, we declared how different metrology labs around the world are interested in this field.

ANTECEDENTS AND OUTCOME OF CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT WITH THE HOTEL BRAND COMMUNITIES EMBEDDED IN FACEBOOK

Since social media has become an essential tool in the contemporary hotel industry, companies are now building social media communities to engage customers online (Leung & Bai, 2013) and to maintain satisfaction, trust, commitment, loyalty, and brand relationship quality (Harrigan, Evers, Miles, & Daly, 2017). Despite global hotel companies’ increasing adoption of social media platforms to promote customer engagement, research in this area is still sparse (Harrigan et al., 2017; So, King, & Sparks, 2014). To fill this gap, the authors developed a theoretical model incorporating two antecedents (hotel brand experience and customer involvement to social media) and a consequence (brand relationship quality) of customer engagement (CE) in the context of hotel brand communities embedded in social media. Additionally, the authors included hotel brand reputation (HBR) in the model as another predictor of brand relationship quality (BRQ). This study obtained data from a panel survey consisting of the responses of hotel customers who had stayed at one of ten famous hotel brands in the U.S. within the past 12 months and were simultaneously followers of the hotel brand’s page on Facebook. The findings reveal that both antecedents (ISM and HBX) positively and significantly influence CE and that hotel brand experience (HBX) has a stronger impact on CE than ISM. The findings also demonstrate that CE has the strongest, positive effect on BRQ, followed by HBX and HBR. Furthermore, the findings indicate that the relationship between HBX and BRQ is partially and significantly mediated by CE. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to the field. First, unlike previous studies, the current study utilized the concept of CE with hotel brand communities embedded in social media as a mediator between HBX and BRQ and found partial and significant mediation effects. Second, the study identified two new and crucial antecedents of CE with brand communities embedded in social media—customer brand experience and customer social media involvement. Third, this study found brand relationship quality as one of the primary outcomes of customer engagement with hotel brand communities in social media. Lastly, the findings confirm that social media-based brand communities (i.e., Facebook) are one tool companies can use to build long-lasting customer-brand relationships.

Evaluation of polymethyl methacrylate resin mechanical properties with incorporated halloysite nanotubes

PURPOSE This study inspects the effect of incorporating halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) into polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) resin on its flexural strength, hardness, and Young's modulus. MATERIALS AND METHODS Four groups of acrylic resin powder were prepared. One group without HNTs was used as a control group and the other three groups contained 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 wt% HNTs. For each one, flexural strength, Young's modulus and hardness values were measured. One-way ANOVA and Tukey's test were used for comparison (P<.05). RESULTS At lower concentration (0.3 wt%) of HNT, there was a significant increase of hardness values but no significant increase in both flexural strength and Young's modulus values of PMMA resin. In contrast, at higher concentration (0.6 and 0.9 wt%), there was a significant decrease in hardness values but no significant decrease in flexural strength and Young's modulus values compared to those of the control group. CONCLUSION Addition of lower concentration of halloysite nanotubes to denture base materials could improve some of their mechanical properties. Improving the mechanical properties of acrylic resin base material could increase the patient satisfaction.

Protective effect of Arthrospira platensis against liver injury induced by copper nanoparticles

Although copper oxide nanoparticles (nano-CuO) are one of widely used engineered nanoparticles, their human and animal exposure led to particular structural changes in tissues and organs. The present study was undertaken to examine the protective effects of the blue-green microalga Arthrospira platensis against nano-CuO-induced hepatotoxicity in albino rats. Results showed that nano-CuO injection led to significant reduction in serum albumin level with a significant increase in alanine transaminases (ALT) and aspartate transaminases (AST) activities after 24 h of administration. In addition, nano-CuO administration resulted in significant increase in malondialdehyde (MDA) level and catalase (CAT) activity, with a significant reduction in reduced glutathione (GSH) level. Administration of A. platensis alone did not significantly alter the normal levels of aminotransferase enzymes, antioxidants or oxidative stress marker. However, pretreatment with A. platensis prior to nano-CuO intoxication attenuated the levels of ALT, AST (liver function markers) and MDA (lipid peroxidation marker). It also normalized the levels of both hepatic enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants (CAT and GSH, respectively). In conclusion, the present study confirmed the hepatotoxicity of nano-CuO at 10 mg kg−1 administration dose. However, administration of A. platensis could represent a significant protective mechanism against hepatotoxicity.

A New Perspective of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Associated With Delayed Language Development: An Egyptian Sample

Objective The current study aimed to get an easy objective method to detect attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by investigating the simple inflammatory blood ratios platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PRL), neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) & the monocyte/lymphocyte ratio (MLR), for the sake of receiving early management to such cases and overcoming language affection as a comorbid symptom.Methods This study was conducted on two groups: Group 1 (SG) consisted of 70 ADHD children who had delayed language development (DLD), freshly diagnosed, according to DSM-V criteria, and those patients were not on medical treatment. Group 2 healthy group (HG) consisted of 44 healthy control normal children that were both physically and mentally free of the same socio-demographic characters of the first group.Results The PLR, NLR and MLR, were significantly higher in the ADHD group than the healthy control group (HG) group, although the simple blood indices were average.Conclusion Inflammation has a role as a comorbid cause of ADHD. Simple blood inflammatory mediators may be used as comorbid factors in ADHD. This study explained that the language abilities must be taken in consideration when assessing children with ADHD. The screening tools for inflammatory markers are important when dealing with ADHD children with/ without delayed language development (DLD). Also, working memory assessment is mandatory in ADHD with DLD to assign a special program in language therapy for each child.
