For a polynomial $\mathit{P(z)=\sum_{\nu =0}^{n}a_{\nu}z^{\nu}}$ of degree $\mathit{n}$ having all its zeros in $\mathit{|z|\leq k,k \geq 1}$, it was shown by Rather and Dar \cite{1} that $$\max_{|z|=1} |P^{\prime}(z)|\geq \frac{1}{1+k^n}\bigg(n+\frac{k^n|a_n|-|a_0|}{k^n|a_n|+|a_0|}\bigg)\max_{|z|=1}|P(z)|.$$ In this paper, we shall obtain some sharp estimates, which not only refine the above inequality but also generalize some well known Tur\'{a}n-type inequalities.
Hydrogen storage of nanostructured TiO<sub>2</sub>-impregnated carbon nanotubes

Hydrogen uptake study of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) impregnated with TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-nanorods and nanotubes has been performed at room temperature and moderate hydrogen pressures of 8-18atm. Under hydrothermal synthesis conditions, nanorods (NRs) and nanoparticles (NPs) are found to form either of the two polymorphic phases, i.e., nanorods are formed of predominantly anatase phase while nanoparticles are formed of rutile phase. NRs and NPs are introduced into the CNT matrix via the wetness-impregnation method. These composites store up to 0.40wt.% of hydrogen at 298K and 18atm, which is nearly five times higher the hydrogen uptake of pristine CNTs. The excess amount of hydrogen stored in TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-impregnated CNTs is determined from the amount of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> in the sample and the measured hydrogen uptake of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles. Higher hydrogen uptake of NP-impregnated CNTs when compared pristine CNTs is accounted for by considering initial binding of hydrogen on TiO<SUB>2</SUB> and subsequent spillover in CNT-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NPs.

Transient hydrogen adsorption profile of Pd nanoparticles measured at RT and an equilibrium hydrogen pressure of 1.7MPa. Maximum hydrogen storage capacity observed is 1.05+/-0.01wt%. Re-adsorption of hydrogen provided in the lower profile corresponds to the hydrogen storage in the room-temperature out-gassed samples measured under aforementioned conditions. Only negligible loss of the reversible hydrogen storage capacity is observed while re-adsorption. Inset provides the hydrogen storage in these samples for extended storage duration of 9h.

Doronicum Hookeri of family Asteraceae is an important medicinal drug distributed in Himalayas at Lachen and Tungu, Sikkim, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet between 12,000 to 14,000 ft. Its roots are widely used as folk medicine and are commonly known as "Darunaj-aqrabi" in Unani and as "Leopard's bane" in English. Roots are traditionally used as a constituent of, act as a stomachic and dissolves trapped gases. Antibacterial and antifungal activities of D. hookeri roots have been previously reported. The methanolic extract of root part possessed higher phenolic content and thus higher free radical scavenging and reducing activities. The methanolic extract of this plant showed scavenging and antioxidant activities in DPPH (2,2- diphenyl-1-picryhydrazy) radical scavenging assay.

Hydrogen storage capacity of Pd-embedded multi-walled carbon nanotubes varies linearly with pressure, for equilibrium hydrogen pressures between 0.66 and 2.2MPa. This suggests negligible adsorbate-adsorbate interaction operating in this pressure regime.
Comparative hydrogen uptake study on titanium-MWCNTs composite prepared by two different methods

<P>Hydrogen uptake of a multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is increased 5- and 25- fold at 298 K and an equilibrium pressure of similar to 16 atm, upon addition of a hydrogen spill-over catalyst titanium, from 0.43 to 2.0 wt.%. Two important preparation methods; high-energy ball milling and sputtering method is utilized to synthesize Ti-MWCNTs composite. Thermogravimetric analysis suggests decoration of Ti on MWCNTs is similar to 3.5 wt.% and TEM demonstrates nanostructural characterization of both pristine and Ti-MWCNTs. Enhancement of hydrogen uptake of sputtered sample is attributed to the efficient spillover mechanism due to well-arranged decoration of titanium nanoparticles on the outer surface of MWCNTs compared to milled sample. Adsorption and re-adsorption of sputtered composite indicate inconsistent hydrogen storage capacity between 1.56 and 2.0 wt.%. (C) 2016 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC. Published by Elsevier Ltd. In this paper some inequalities for the maximum modulus of the polar derivative for polynomials with restricted zeros are obtained by using the boundary Schwarz lemma of Osserman. Our results generalize and re ne some well-known results concerning the polynomials due to Turan, Dubinin and others.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were synthesized by rapid thermal decomposition method using trimetallic catalyst supported MgO. MWCNTs prepared via trimetallic catalyst shows much higher BET specific surface area compared to current monometallic and bimetallic catalyst. As-grown and pristine MWCNTs were found to adsorb nitrogen reversibly and their adsorption uptake exhibits type-II BET isotherm. Existence of small impurities, such as metal and metal oxides present in the MWCNTs, was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis as well as via energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. An over 10 wt% enhancement of hydrogen storage capacity of as-grown MWCNTs compared to pristine was found to be due to the presence of impurities. Fast kinetics and complete reversibility gives indication that the process responsible for hydrogen adsorption uptake in MWCNTs is physisorption. A linear relation between hydrogen uptake (~0.22 and 0.20 wt%) and equilibrium hydrogen pressure was obtained for both as-grown and pristine MWCNTs.

Antifungal and biopreservation potentials ofLactobacillus plantarum YML007 isolated from Koreankimchi were analyzed. The biopreservative efficacy of thebacterium was analyzed using maize grains. Maize wasdivided into 3 groups and treated with a 5× concentratedcell-free supernatant of Lb. plantarum YML007 (T3R3),organic acids (T2R2), and a control group (T1R1) lackingtreatment. All groups were stored for 30 days. Maize wastested for moisture and crude fat contents, mold growth,and aflatoxin production. The moisture content, moldcount, and toxin production were higher in the controlmaize. The YML007 and acid treated maize remaineduninfected after 30 days. Animals fed with YML007treated maize showed more weight gain and less feedconsumption. YML007 can be used to preserve thenutritional value of stored grain and to ensure better qualityfeedstuffs that are necessary for improving animal healthand performance.
