      • An Extended Approach based on Genetic Algorithm for Multi-Tenant Data Management

Reyhaneh Kheiri,Alireza Taghizadeh,Elaheh Kheiri,Mostafa Ghobaei Arani 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.7

In recent years, the applications of cloud computing technology has been increased significantly. Multi-tenant property of cloud computing allows data sharing between clients. The multi-tenant data management system breaks the cost of hardware, software and professional services among a large number of tenants and thus reduces per-tenant cost. A multi-tenant database system should provide high performance with small storage space and excellent scalability. One major challenge is to reach a database scheme with high-quality. In this paper, we offer a compatible ADAPTED database schema based on genetic algorithms, and compare it with similar schema. Simulation results show that the proposed approach (GA-ADAPT) besides considering criteria of quality of service, provides higher performance comparing the previous ones in terms of selection time of the important features and the average response time to the tenants.

Effects of near-fault records characteristics on seismic performance of eccentrically braced frames

Reyhaneh Eskandari,Davoud Vafaei 국제구조공학회 2015 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.56 No.5

In this paper the effects of fling-step and forward-directivity on the seismic performance of steel eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) are addressed. Four EBFs with various numbers of stories (4-, 8-, 12- and 15-story) were designed for an area with high seismic hazard. Fourteen near-fault ground motions including seven with forward-directivity and seven with fling-step effects are selected to carry out nonlinear time history (NTH) analyses of the frames. Furthermore, seven more far-field records were selected for comparison. Findings from the study reveal that the median maximum links rotation of the frames subjected to three set of ground motions are in acceptable range and the links completely satisfy the requirement stated in FEMA 356 for LS performance level. The arrival of the velocity pulse in a near-fault record causes few significant plastic deformations, while many reversed inelastic cycles result in low-cycle fatigue damage in far-fault records. Near-fault records in some cases are more destructive and the results of these records are so dispersed, especially the records having fling-step effects.

Monolayer and multilayer adsorption isotherm models for sorption from aqueous media

Reyhaneh Saadi,Zahra Saadi,Reza Fazaeli,Narges Elmi Fard 한국화학공학회 2015 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.32 No.5

Industrial wastewater polluted with various contaminants, including heavy metals, dyes, etc., endangers human health and the environment. Various separation techniques have been developed for the removal of pollutants from aqueous solutions. Adsorption process has drawn considerable attention due to its simplicity of design, high removal efficiency, even at dilute concentration, and economical aspect. We reviewed the most common two, three, four, and five parameter adsorption isotherm models corresponding to monolayer and multilayer adsorption on the basis of parameters that can be used for exploring novel adsorbents. Thermodynamic assumptions of the models give information about the surface properties, capacity of the adsorbent and adsorption mechanism. Seven error functions were investigated to evaluate the fitness quality of isotherm models with the experimental equilibrium data.

      • 35-Year Research History of Cytotoxicity and Cancer: a Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis

Farghadani, Reyhaneh,Haerian, Batoul Sadat,Ebrahim, Nader Ale,Muniandy, Sekaran Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.7

Cancer is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, characterized by irregular cell growth. Cytotoxicity or killing tumor cells that divide rapidly is the basic function of chemotherapeutic drugs. However, these agents can damage normal dividing cells, leading to adverse effects in the body. In view of great advances in cancer therapy, which are increasingly reported each year, we quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated the papers published between 1981 and December 2015, with a closer look at the highly cited papers (HCPs), for a better understanding of literature related to cytotoxicity in cancer therapy. Online documents in the Web of Science (WOS) database were analyzed based on the publication year, the number of times they were cited, research area, source, language, document type, countries, organization-enhanced and funding agencies. A total of 3,473 publications relevant to the target key words were found in the WOS database over 35 years and 86% of them (n=2,993) were published between 2000-2015. These papers had been cited 54,330 times without self-citation from 1981 to 2015. Of the 3,473 publications, 17 (3,557citations) were the most frequently cited ones between 2005 and 2015. The topmost HCP was about generating a comprehensive preclinical database (CCLE) with 825 (23.2%) citations. One third of the remaining HCPs had focused on drug discovery through improving conventional therapeutic agents such as metformin and ginseng. Another 33% of the HCPs concerned engineered nanoparticles (NPs) such as polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendritic polymers, PTX/SPIO-loaded PLGAs and cell-derived NPs to increase drug effectiveness and decrease drug toxicity in cancer therapy. The remaining HCPs reported novel factors such as miR-205, Nrf2 and p27 suggesting their interference with development of cancer in targeted cancer therapy. In conclusion, analysis of 35-year publications and HCPs on cytotoxicity in cancer in the present report provides opportunities for a better understanding the extent of topics published and may help future research in this area.

Role of cuticle-degrading enzymes of Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae in virulence on Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera, Pyralidae) larvae

        Golzan Seyedeh Reyhaneh,Talaei-Hassanloui Reza,Homayoonzadeh Mohammad,Safavi Seyed Ali 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.2

Entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) are important biological control agents in pest management programs in agroecosystems against insect pests. EPF such as Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuillemin and Metarhizium anisopliae (Metchn.) Sorokin produce a wide range of extracellular enzymes involved in disturbance of the first barrier in the insect cuticle comprising proteins, chitin, and lipids. Realizing relationships between the expression of these enzymes and fungal virulence might aid in development of effective mycoinsecticides. The virulence of B. bassiana (isolates TV and OZ1) and M. anisopliae (isolate CS1) were investigated on Plodia interpunctella (Hübner) larvae in this study. The third instar larvae were immersed in a suspension containing 1 × 108 conidia mL− 1 of fungal conidial inoculum. The results revealed that all three fungal isolates caused mortality in larvae, but there was a considerable variation in their virulence. Total proteinase, exochitinase and lipase assays were done for these isolates. The TV isolate with the highest mortality with 41.7%, had the highest level of specific activity of exochitinase, protease, and lipase with 0.148, 0.654, and 0.190 U. mg− 1 protein, respectively. In the current study, a positive correlation was determined between the virulence of fungal isolates and the activities of protease and lipase, but this link was not significant for exochitinase. Our results demonstrated that extracellular enzymes, particularly protease and lipase, may play a crucial role in the virulence of these fungal isolates against P. interpunctella larvae.

Presence of the endosymbiont Wolbachia among some fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) from Iran: A multilocus sequence typing approach

        Javad Karimi,Reyhaneh Darsouei 한국응용곤충학회 2014 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.17 No.1

Wolbachia is awidespread endosymbiont of insects with a diverse range of biological effects on its hosts.Westudied the prevalence of Wolbachia in some important species of tephritids in Iran. Among different populationsof five fruit fly species, Dacus ciliatus (cucurbit fly), Rhagoletis cerasi (cherry fruit fly), Ceratitis capitata(Mediterranean fruit fly), Myiopardalis pardalina (melon fly) and Carypomya vesuviana (jujube fly), two species,R. cerasi and C. vesuviana, showed infection with separate Wolbachia strains, namely wCer6 and wVes1,respectively. C. vesuviana is introduced here as a novel host for Wolbachia. Genotyping of Wolbachia strainsin 12 populations of five fruit fly species, using multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and the wsp gene sequenceshowed the occurrence of two new strains as well as a new strain type (ST) belonging to the A supergroup. Onthe basis of the results of this study, 12 barcodes under five species of Iranian tephritids have been added tothe database of DNA barcodes. Inter- and intra-specific differences among COI sequences showed a clear gapin barcoding among most fruit flies.

The Beneficial and Adverse Effects of Raloxifene in Menopausal Women: A Mini Review

        Imaneh Khorsand,Reyhaneh Kashef,Masumeh Ghazanfarpour,Elaheh Mansouri,Sareh Dashti,Talat Khadivzadeh 대한폐경학회 2018 대한폐경학회지 Vol.24 No.3

Objectives: The present mini review aimed to summarize the existing knowledge regarding the beneficial and adverse effects of raloxifene in menopausal women. Methods: This study is a review of relevant publications about the effects of raloxifene on sleep disorder, depression, venous thromboembolism, the plasma concentration of lipoprotein, breast cancer, and cognitive function among menopausal women. Results: Raloxifene showed no significant effect on depression and sleep disorder. Verbal memory improved with administration of 60 mg/day of raloxifene while a mild cognitive impairment risk reduction by 33% was observed with administration of 120 mg/ day of raloxifene. Raloxifene was associated with a 50% decrease in the need for prolapse surgery. The result of a meta-analysis showed a significant decline in the plasma concentration of lipoprotein in the raloxifene group compared to placebo (standardized mean difference, -0.43; 10 trials). A network meta-analysis showed that raloxifene significantly decreased the risk of breast cancer (relative risk, 0.572; 95% confidence interval, 0.327-0.881; P = 0.01). In terms of adverse effects of raloxifene, the odds ratio (OR) was observed to be 1.54 (P = 0.006), indicating 54% increase in the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) while the OR for pulmonary embolism (PE) was 1.05, suggesting a 91% increase in the risk of PE alone (P = 0.03). Conclusions: Raloxifene had no significant effect on depression and sleep disorder but decreased the concentration of lipoprotein. Raloxifene administration was associated with an increased risk of DVT and PE and a decreased risk of breast cancer and pelvic organ prolapse in postmenopausal women.

Molecular characterization of Iranian Trichogrammatids (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) and their Wolbachia endosymbiont

        Javad Karimi,Reyhaneh Darsouei,Mojtaba Hosseini,Richard Stouthamer 한국응용곤충학회 2012 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.15 No.1

During 2009–2010, a field survey of native Trichogramma species was carried out in six provinces of Iran, including Khorasan Razavi, Tehran, Mazandaran, Guilan, Golestan, and Qom. In this study, a molecular method for identifying Trichogramma and for determining the prevalence of Wolbachia in those species was used. Based on ITS2 (internal transcribed spacer 2) sequence, 14 populations were identified as the species T. embryophagum, T. evanescens, or T. brassicae. Wolbachia infection in these Trichogrammatids was detected using wsp gene sequencing. The highest infection rates in Trichogramma were found in Mazandaran and Golestan provinces. There was no evidence of infection in Trichogramma species in Guilan and Qom provinces. Of the three infected populations, two populations of T. evanescens were infected with only one Wolbachia strain from sib subgroup and one population was superinfected. Here, we report the first data on molecular characterization of Iranian Trichogrammatids and their Wolbachia-endosymbionts.

Angiogenic activity of endothelial progenitor cells through angiopoietin-1 and angiopoietin-2

        Vahid Siavashia,Reyhaneh Sariri,Seyed Mahdi Nassiri,Masoumeh Esmaeilivand,Simin Asadian,Hadi Cheraghi,Mazyar Barekati-Mowahed,Reza Rahbarghazi 한국통합생물학회 2016 Animal cells and systems Vol.20 No.3

Angiogenesis is a regulated process involving the proliferation, migration, and remodeling of different cell types particularly mature endothelial cells and recently discovered progenitor cells, named as endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). Up to now, many attempts have been made to understand the dynamic balance of pro- and anti-angiogenic factors on EPCs on different milieu. It has been accepted that Ang-1, -2 and Tie-1, -2 signaling play a key role on angiogenesis pathways in endothelial lineage cells. In the current experiment, the angiogenic/angiomodulatory potency of Ang-1 and -2 was investigated on isolated EPCs. Freshly isolated EPCs were exposed to different concentrations of Ang-1 and -2 (25 and 50 ng/ml) over a course of 7 and 14 days. Corroborating to our results, a superior effect of Ang-1 on angiogenic properties, including an increased concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor, in vitro tubulogenesis, EPC migratory, Tie-2 expression and clonogenicity, was determined. A large amount of positive mature endothelium markers was achieved in EPCs being-exposed to Ang-1 peptide. Nonetheless, the number of CD133 positive cells increased in the presence of Ang-2. Collectively, we conclude that Ang-1 potentially induces functional and mature vascular-like behavior in EPCs more than Ang-2.
