Short-circuit and open-circuit faults monitoring of IGBTs in solid-state-transformers using collector-emitter voltage

Cao, Qiuling,Che, Yanbo,Yang, Jianxiong,Mi, Menglai,Men, Yaoyao The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2021 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.21 No.7

The aging and malfunction of devices with great power have been the main causes of the collapse and failure of grid systems. Since they are frequently used in grid systems, the failure of a solid-state-transformer has a great impact on the energy-saving and normal operation of network systems. Moreover, the main switching element of a solid-state-transformer is a welding type IGBT, which is also the most fragile part. First, the uneven current flow phenomenon of paralleled IGBT modules is introduced. Then, the main factors influencing solid-state-transformer failure, along with the short-circuit and open-circuit faults of IGBTs are analyzed. After the derivation VCE, it can be seen that it is related to the short-circuit and open-circuit faults of IGBTs. After comparison and analysis, one type of solid-state-transformer should be chosen to be widely applied and with integral functions for models and simulations. The IGBTs in solid-state-transformers vary in terms of fault condition and position, which influences the internal and external electrical parameters of systems. Therefore, it is proposed that collector-emitter voltage can be used to characterize the fault conditions of solid-state-transformers. Through simulation verification and waveform observations, it can be seen that the collector-emitter voltage and VM, which is the voltage of the primary side of the transformer in a solid-state-transformer, can be used to characterize the failure condition of the internal converter of the solid-state-transformer.

Enhancement of Pyruvate Productivity in Candida glabrata by Deleting the CgADE13 Gene to Improve Acid Tolerance

        Xiulai Chen,Qiuling Luo,Jia Liu,Liming Liu 한국생물공학회 2018 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.23 No.5

Acid tolerance is one of the critical factors to evaluate the quality of the industrial production strains, especially organic acid producing microorganisms. To circumvent this problem, we investigated the physiological function of adenylosuccinate lyase in AMP metabolism from Candida glabrata by deleting the corresponding gene, CgADE13. At pH 4.0, CgADE13 deletion resulted in a 68.3% and 112.0% increase in biomass and cell viability compared to those of wild type strain (wt), respectively. In addition, CgADE13 deletion also protected cell morphology and counteracted ROS production. Further, the intracellular ATP level of strain Cgade13Δ was decreased by 25.0%, and its H+-ATPase activity was increased by 15.0%. Finally, pyruvate production with strain Cgade13Δ in a 30-L batch bioreactor at pH 4.0 reached 53.9 g/L, and pyruvate productivity was increased by 166.7% compared to that of wt. This is the first report regarding tolerance engineering of C. glabrata for enhancing pyruvate productivity, which provides a good starting point for metabolic engineering to achieve the industrial production of other chemicals.

Fabrication of microfluidics structures on different glasses by simplified imprinting technique

        Qiuping Chen,Qiuling Chen,Gabriele Maccioni 한국물리학회 2013 Current Applied Physics Vol.13 No.1

Imprinting technique is an efficient method for fabricating microstructures for microfluidics and lab-onchip applications. However such technique is not commonly used for glass based microstructures fabrication. In this study, microstructures were transferred completely and successfully from a nickel alloy stamp to different glasses such as sodalime glass, Pyrex glass, SGBN glass and magneto optical glasses, using imprinting technique. Furthermore, the traditional vacuum hot press for imprinting was replaced with the conventional electric furnace which increases the cost efficiency and simplicity greatly. Using specific mold in the conventional furnace, the mass production of microstructured glass chips can be realized.

        Jianfeng Gou,Qiuling Ma,Yuqi Cui,Xiaoyong Deng,Huixuan Zhang,Xiuwen Cheng,Xiaoli Li,Mingzheng Xie,Qingfeng Cheng,Huiling Liu 한국공업화학회 2017 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.49 No.-

In this study, high visible light response and charge separation efficiency of body-centered cubic Ag3PO4sub-microcrystals were fabricated through ultrasound-precipitation process. Additionally, the parameterswere optimized by photocatalytic (PC) removal degradation of diclofenac based on response surfacemethodology. Results indicated that the PC removal efficiency of diclofenac was significantly affected byAg3PO4 content and pH value. Under the optimized conditions, 99.9% of diclofenac could be degradedwithin 16 min Xenon illumination. Furthermore, three PC removal degradation pathways of diclofenacwere proposed, including OH-adduct to aromatic ring, direct oxidation by photoinduced holes anddecarboxylation of side chain from the parent compound.

Effervescent cannabidiol solid dispersion-doped dissolving microneedles for boosted melanoma therapy via the “TRPV1-NFATc1-ATF3” pathway and tumor microenvironment engineering

        Jiachen Shi,Qiuling Ma,Wenting Su,Congyan Liu,Huangqin Zhang,Yuping Liu,Xiaoqi Li,Xi Jiang,Chang Ge,Fei Kong,Yan Chen,Ding Qu 한국생체재료학회 2023 생체재료학회지 Vol.27 No.00

Background Conventional dissolving microneedles (DMNs) face significant challenges in anti-melanoma therapy due to the lack of active thrust to achieve efficient transdermal drug delivery and intra-tumoral penetration. Methods In this study, the effervescent cannabidiol solid dispersion-doped dissolving microneedles (Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs) composed of the combined effervescent components (CaCO3 & NaHCO3) and CBD-based solid dispersion (CBD-SD) were facilely fabricated by the “one-step micro-molding” method for boosted transdermal and tumoral delivery of cannabidiol (CBD). Results Upon pressing into the skin, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs rapidly produce CO2 bubbles through proton elimination, significantly enhancing the skin permeation and tumoral penetration of CBD. Once reaching the tumors, Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs can activate transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) to increase Ca2+ influx and inhibit the downstream NFATc1-ATF3 signal to induce cell apoptosis. Additionally, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs raise intra-tumoral pH environment to trigger the engineering of the tumor microenvironment (TME), including the M1 polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and increase of T cells infiltration. The introduction of Ca2+ can not only amplify the effervescent effect but also provide sufficient Ca2+ with CBD to potentiate the anti-melanoma efficacy. Such a “one stone, two birds” strategy combines the advantages of effervescent effects on transdermal delivery and TME regulation, creating favorable therapeutic conditions for CBD to obtain stronger inhibition of melanoma growth in vitro and in vivo. Conclusions This study holds promising potential in the transdermal delivery of CBD for melanoma therapy and offers a facile tool for transdermal therapies of skin tumors.

Effect of Multiple Freeze-Thaw Cycles on Myoglobin and Lipid Oxidations of Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) Surimi with Different Pork Back Fat Content

        Xiaolan Shang,Xunyou Yan,Qiuling Li,Zizheng Liu,Anguo Teng 한국축산식품학회 2020 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.40 No.6

Fresh grass carp was used to produce surimi and 50 g/kg, 100 g/kg, or 150 g/kg pork back fat was added. The water distribution, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), myoglobin oxidation, color parameter (L*, a*, and b*), heme and non-heme iron content of samples were determined to analyze the effects of different fat content on the oxidation of myoglobin and lipids during multiple freeze-thaw cycles of grass carp surimi. Both multiple freeze-thaw cycles and increased fat content lead to an increase in TBARS, a blue shift in the absorption peak of myoglobin porphyrin, a decrease in heme iron content, and an increase of non-heme iron content. Repeated freeze-thaw caused a decrease in immobilised water content and L*, and caused an increase in a* and b*. Increased fat content caused an increase in immobilised water content, L* and a*, and caused a decrease in b*.

      • Attitudes Toward Mini-Packaging Products: The Case of China

Pornpitakpan, Chanthika,Li, Qiuling,Sy-Changco, Joseph A.,Chen, Junsong Kyung Hee University Management Research Institute 2019 Asia pacific journal of business review Vol.4 No.1

Proposing that the main barriers to mini-packaging success in China, in contrast to India and the Philippines, is Chinese consumers' sociocultural values and attitudes toward products in mini packages, this study investigates the factors that potentially make the China market relatively not conducive to buying products in mini packages via a survey of 468 Chinese adults in Shanghai (first-tier city) and Zhuhai (second-tier city). Results show that respondents agree that products in mini packages are difficult to store once opened, are more expensive than are larger-sized products, do not provide good value for money, entail frequent shopping, are harmful to the environment, are not advertised, and are mainly for trying new products and for traveling. They disagree with many possible reasons for the unpopularity of products in mini packages. This study's contributions are (1) providing in-depth quantitative analysis of the possible reasons mini-packaging is not popular in China, (2) offering managerial advice for using mini-packaging to increase brand competitiveness, (3) developing a scale to measure attitudes toward products in mini packages; and (4) being empirical as opposed to merely anecdotal/speculative like some studies in this area.

Characteristics of Interface States in One-dimensional Composite Photonic Structures

        Qingyue Zhang,Weitao Mao,Qiuling Zhao,Maorong Wang,Xia Wang,Wing Yim Tam 한국광학회 2022 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.6 No.3

Based on the transfer-matrix method (TMM), we report the characteristics of the interface states in one-dimensional (1D) composite structures consisting of two photonic crystals (PCs) composed of binary dielectrics A and B, with unit-cell configurations ABA (PC I) and BAB (PC II). The dependence of the interface states on the number of unit cells N and the boundary factor x are displayed. It is verified that the interface states are independent of N when the PC has inversion symmetry (x = 0.5). Besides, the composite structures support the formation of interface states independent of the PC symmetry, except that the positions of the interface states will be varied within the photonic band gaps. Moreover, the robustness of the interface states against nonuniformities is investigated by adding Gaussian noise to the layer thickness. In the case of inversion symmetry (x = 0.5) the most robust interface states are achieved, while for the other cases (x ≠ 0.5) interface states decay linearly with position inside the band gap. This work could shed light on the development of robust photonic devices.
