        Molecular cloning and expression analysis of a myosin light chain 1 (MLC‐1) gene from Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

        Myosin light chain 1 (MLC‐1) protein acts in the organization, dynamics and transport processes associated with the cytoskeleton. In this work, an MLC‐1 gene was cloned and characterized from the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). The isolated PiMLC‐1 cDNA is 913 bp, including a 5′‐untranslated region (UTR) of 79 bp, 3′‐UTR of 381 bp and an open reading frame (ORF) of 453 bp encoding a polypeptide of 150 amino acids, which contains two calcium binding domains (EF‐hands). The deduced PiMLC‐1 protein sequence has 39–94% comparison with other individuals. The qPCR analysis revealed that PiMLC‐1 was expressed in the four developmental stages (egg, larva, pupa and adult) and in all tissues tested, suggesting that it plays an important role in development of P. interpunctella. Based on the MLC‐1 amino acids, phylogenetic analysis showed a similar topology with the traditional classification, suggesting the potential value of the MLC‐1 protein in phylogenetic inference.

        A Two-dimensional Supramolecular Network Built through Unique π-πStacking: Synthesis and Characterization of [Cu(phen)<sub>2</sub>(μ-ID A)Cu(phen)·(NO<sub>3</sub>)](NO<sub>3</sub>)·4(H<sub>2</sub>O)

        A novel supramolecular network containing binuclear copper unit $[Cu(phen)_{2}({\mu}-ID\;A)Cu(phen){\cdot}(NO_{3})](NO_{3}){\cdot}4(H_{2}O)$ (1) was synthesized through the self-assembly of iminodiacetic acid ($H_2IDA$) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in the condition of pH = 6. It has been characterized by the infrared (IR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis, single crystal X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). 1 shows a 2-D supramolecular structure assembled through strong and unique $\pi-\pi$ packing interactions. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that theoretical optimized structures can well reproduce the experimental structure. The TGA and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) curves indicate that the complex 1 can maintain the structural integrity even at the loss of free water molecules. The magnetic property is also reported in this paper.

        Combination of Tumor Volume and Epstein-Barr Virus DNA Improved Prognostic Stratification of Stage II Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in the Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Era: A Large-Scale Cohort Study

        Purpose Little is known about combination of the circulating Epstein-Barr viral (EBV) DNA and tumor volume in prognosis of stage II nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients in the intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) era. We conducted this cohort study to evaluate the prognostic values of combining these two factors. Materials and Methods By Kaplan-Meier, we compare the differences of survival curves between 385 patients with different EBV DNA or tumor volume levels, or with the combination of two biomarkers mentioned above. Results Gross tumor volume of cervical lymph nodes (GTVnd, p < 0.001) and total tumor volume (GTVtotal, p < 0.001) were both closely related to pretreatment EBV DNA, while gross tumor volume of nasopharynx (GTVnx, p=0.047) was weakly related to EBV DNA. EBV DNA was significantly correlated with progress-free survival (PFS, p=0.005), locoregional-free survival (LRFS, p=0.039), and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS, p=0.017), while GTVtotal, regardless of GTVnx and GTVnd, had a significant correlation with PFS and LRFS. The p-values of GTVtotal for PFS and LRFS were 0.008 and 0.001, respectively. According to GTVtotal and pretreatment EBV DNA level, patients were divided into a low-risk group (EBV DNA 0 copy/mL, GTVtotal < 30 cm3; EBV DNA 0 copy/mL, GTVtotal  30 cm3; or EBV DNA > 0 copy/mL, GTVtotal < 30 cm3) and a high-risk group (EBV DNA > 0 copy/mL, GTVtotal  30 cm3). When patients in the low-risk group were compared with those in the high-risk group, 3-year PFS (p=0.003), LRFS (p=0.010), and DMFS (p=0.031) rates were statistically significant. Conclusion Pretreatment plasma EBV DNA and tumor volume were both closely correlated with prognosis of stage II NPC patients in the IMRT era. Combination of EBV DNA and tumor volume can refine prognosis and indicate for clinical therapy.

        논문 : 성별에 따른 노동력인구 차이가 일본 후쿠오카시 후생복지시설변화에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 일본 후쿠오카시를 대상으로 한 남녀노동력인구에 따른 도시구조의 변화 상황을 제시하기 위한 연구의 후속 연구로서 이전의 연구에서 밝혀진 성별에 의해 영향을 크게 받는 네 개의 도시시설 중 기계화 시스템설비의 도입이 어려운 사업 즉 후생복지사업에 착안하여 남녀종사자수와 사업체 수에 의한 변화경향을 정성, 정량적으로 예측함으로써 도시공간구조에서 후생복지시설의 성별에 따른 변화방향을 아래와 같이 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. (1)여성종사자에 의한 도시구조의 변화 방향: 서구, 조량구의 생활영역을 중심으로 한 도시의 중간지역에서 교통망이 발달되고 환경이 쾌적한 도시근교에 새로운 진료소, 양로원, 노인간호 보건시설 등이 건설되며 천신과 하카다역을 중심으로 한 중앙구, 하카다구는 기존시설에 대한 재개발이 진행될 것이다. (2)남성종사자에 의한 도시구조의 변화방향: 거주 구역인 저수, 조량구를 중심으로 도심이 형성될 것이다. 또한 하카다구(博多區)의 도로와 철도 시설 주변에 다수의 소규모 진료소, 양로원 그리고 간호 시설들이 건설될 것이다. This thesis is a part of serial researches that seeks to predict the changes in urban structure of the Japanese city of Fukuoka as result of the changes in gender of the labor force. Previous research figured it out that there are four types of urban facilities that are greatly influenced by gender. Among these the welfare institution was selected because of the difficulties of implementing mechanized system equipment. The goal is to predict the change in the urban spatial structure through qualitative and quantitative estimation of the changing trend set by the number of male and female workers and the number of establishments. The following are the predicted changes from the results of this research. Changes in urban structure caused by female workers: A new transportation system will be developed within the central region around the living areas of Nishi-ku and Sawara-ku. New clinics, nursing homes, aged care and health facilities will be constructed in the suburban because of its pleasant environment. Changes in urban structure caused by male workers: a city center will be located around the living areas of Nishi-ku and Sawara-ku will be constructed. In addition many small scale clinics, retirement centers, health care facilities will be constructed in regions around Hakata-ku`s railroads and roads.

        miR-29 family inhibited the proliferation and migration of lung cancer cells by targeting SREBP-1

        Backgrounds Lipid metabolism dysregulation is an important characteristic of tumor cells. Increased lipid metabolism provides a vital material and energy source for tumor growth, thereby promoting tumor invasion and metastasis. Objectives In the current work, we carried out a series of in vivo and in vitro studies to explore the relationship between miR-29 and lung cancer. Results The results showed that miR-29 was down-regulated in lung cancer, and overexpression of miR-29 inhibited the proliferation and migration of lung cancer cells (in vitro). Anti-lung cancer effect of miR-29 in vivo was evaluated, and results indicated that transfection of miR-29b/c markedly inhibited lung tumor growth (in vivo). We further explored the potential mechanism by which miR-29 could inhibit the cell proliferation of lung cancer. It is well known that lipid metabolism dysregulation is an important characteristic of tumor cells. Increased lipid metabolism provides a vital material and energy source for tumor growth, thereby promoting tumor invasion and metastasis, and sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP) is involved in liposome metabolism. Therefore, we analyzed the interaction between miR-29C and SREBP-1 in lung cancer cells. Bioinformatics analysis showed that the miR-29 has the potential binding site on SCAP and SREBP mRNA, and Luciferase reporter gene assays revealed the interaction between 3′UTR of SREBP-1 mRNA and miR-29c. Further study showed that miR-29 suppressed (SREBP-1) expression by interacting with 3′UTR of SREBP-1. Further work indicated that miR-29 transfection strongly inhibited lung cancer cell proliferation, which was rescued by the overexpression of SREBP-1. Conclusion These fi ndings demonstrate that transfection of miR-29 suppressed lung cancer proliferation via inhibiting SREBP-1 expression. The current study provides a basis for exploring the targeted agents against lung cancer.

        Anisotropic In-plane Resistivity and Magnetoresistance of the Detwinned BaFe2As2

        We have measured the electrical resistivity and the magnetoresistance of detwinned BaFe2As2single crystals in fields up to 16 Tesla. The temperature dependence of the resistivity shows acounterintuitive anisotropic behavior in the ab-plane, likely arising from the effect of the nematicsusceptibility. Little magnetoresistance is observed at temperatures above the structural/magnetictransition, below which a huge in-plane magnetoresistance with an anisotropy is detected.

        Proteomic analysis of Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa binding proteins in brush border membrane vesicles of the Chilo suppressalis midgut

        Transgenic rice expressing Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa toxins have proven resistant to lepidopteran pests in China, including the striped stem borer, Chilo suppressalis. Identifying the molecular mechanisms through which Cry toxins affect insect pests is essential, both for understanding the nature of their toxicity, and for assessing the potential for the development of resistance to such toxins. In this study, both onedimensional gel electrophoresis (1-DE), combined ligand blots and mass spectrometry, were used to identify proteins binding to the Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa toxins in brush border membrane vesicles (BBMVs) of the C. suppressalis larvae midgut. Aminopeptidase-N (APN), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), cadherin-like (CAD), ATP-binding cassette transporter subfamily C1 protein (ABCC1), actin, ATPase, alpha amylase, and heat shock protein cognate (HSPC), were detected in Cry1Ac binding bands, and APN, actin, ATPase and HSPC were identified as Cry2Aa potential binding proteins. The novel potential binding protein, delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase, was also detected in both Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa binding bands. This is the first study to comprehensively identify the proteins that bind to Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa toxins in C. suppressalis.

        Pulmonary Actinomycosis Imitating Lung Cancer on 18F-FDG PET/CT: A Case Report and Literature Review

        Here we report a case of 41-year-old man with a soft tissue density mass at right upper lung and palpable abscesses at right upper backside and right wrist. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography demonstrated a 7.8 x 5.0 cm mass with soft-tissue density in the upper lobe of the right lung with high metabolic activity. The infiltrative mass extended to adjacent chest wall soft tissue. Final diagnosis of pulmonary actinomycosis with multiple abscesses was made. The patient responded well to antibiotics treatment.

        Preparation and characterization of the antimony telluride hexagonal nanoplates

        Nanostructured thermoelectric materials are of much interest for improving the thermoelectric figure of merit. In the present work, Sb2Te3 hexagonal nanoplates were successfully fabricated via a facile hydrothermal method. The products were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The results show that the typical Sb2Te3 crystal is hexagonal in shape with about 35 nm in thickness and 300 nm in edge length. The mechanism for formation of Sb2Te3 hexagonal nanoplates is primarily discussed. Nanostructured thermoelectric materials are of much interest for improving the thermoelectric figure of merit.         Because of the research about the land use research, the research only concerns about hard quantitative element which is not enough in the urban structure, gender and labor as a soft qualitative element is increasing. Future changes of urban structure in Fukuoka city show more specific understandings and directions. The results are as follow. Direction of spatial change of urban structure:In the center of the city, the decentralization of facilities is formed with the formation of huge commercial area and functional extension of new information and communication facilities which happens in the center of Fukuoka City. Then, a phenomenon that the development of new welfare facilities go to middle of the city center area where living facilities are completely installed appears. In addition, co-rental housing for single people is increasing mainly in the west of the suburb near University. Direction of changes of urban structure according to gender. Ling facility due to the needs of women formed around a facility welfare one side to promote the phenomenon of concentration of urban centers by an increase in chain restaurant, are distributed in the region: And, in the form of small-scale private office SOHO is increasing around the gap region of the city founded by the activation of the men in the field of information and communication.
