        Functional Features and Significance of the Times of Neo-Romantic Music in the 1970s

        Due to the influence of postmodernism in the 1960s, a trend was observed that avant-garde composers returned to tonality in the pre-twentieth century. Thus, the composers no longer pursued only serialism, but combined avant-garde music with composition music instead. The resulting work of this combination was called Neo-Romantic Music. This study analyzes functional features of Neo-Romantic Music in 1970s and sheds light on its significance of the times. This study further proposes a direction at which pure musical composers of our time should aim.         Influence of Test Method and Poisson's Ratio Effect on Pullout Performance of Anchor Bolt in Pile

        The influence of load pattern and Poisson’s ratio effect on the pullout performance of the anchor bolt, which were connected with pipe pile by core concrete, were investigated by three anchorage-beam pullout tests and one self-balanced pullout test. Theoretical and finite element analysis were also employed to explore the influence of load pattern and Poisson’s ratio effect on the ultimate friction at the pipe-core-concrete contact surface. The results show that the load pattern and Poisson’s ratio effect of pipe pile have a great influence on the pullout characteristics of the anchor bolt. The maximum relative displacements between core concrete and pipe pile and between anchor bolt and core concrete in self-balanced pullout test are 0.913 mm and 0.935 mm, respectively, which are significantly greater than that in anchorage-beam pullout test where the displacements are 0.292 mm and 0.500 mm, respectively. In the self-balanced test, the pipe pile is under compression and expands radially due to the Poisson’s ratio effect. In the anchorage-beam test, on the contrary, the pipe pile is under tension and shrinks radially. As a consequence, the ultimate friction between core concrete and pipe pile in the anchorage-beam test is higher than that in the self-balanced test by 15.1% to 28.7%. Accordingly, the results of anchorage-beam pullout test are more sensible for the anchor bolt design.

        Genetic Polymorphism of GSTP1: Prediction of Clinical Outcome to Oxaliplatin/5-FU-based Chemotherapy in Advanced Gastric Cancer

        The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of the polymorphism Glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) Ile105Val on oxaliplatin/5-FU-based chemotherapy in advanced gastric cancer. Patients with advanced gastric cancer accepted oxaliplatin/5-FU-based chemotherapy as first-line chemotherapy were investigated. GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphism was detected by TaqMan-MGB probe allelic discrimination method. Response to treatment was assessed by disease controlled rate. Time to progression, overall survival and toxicities were recorded. Final patient outcomes were as follows: the allele frequencies of GSTP1 were 105Ile/105Ile 52%, 105Ile/105Val 41% and 105Val/105Val 7%. For patients with 105Ile/105Ile and those with at least one 105Val allele, disease control rate was 39% and 71% (P=0.026), respectively;median time to progression was 4.0 and 7.0 months (P=0.002); median overall survival time was 7.0 and 9.5 months (P=0.002). Neurological toxicity was more frequently occurred in patients with two 105Ile alleles (P=0.005). In conclusion, patients with at least one 105Val allele have better prognosis and response to oxaliplatin/5-FUbased regimen as first-line treatment for patients with advanced gastric cancer.

        Mesoporous CexZr1−xO2 solid solutions supported CuO nanocatalysts for toluene total oxidation

        Mesoporous CexZr1 xO2 solid solutions were prepared by the surfactant-assisted method and used as support of CuO nanocatalysts for catalytic total oxidation of toluene. The prepared CuO/CexZr1 xO2 catalysts have a wormhole-like mesoporous structure with high surface area and uniform pore size distribution, and the CuO nanoparticles were highly dispersed on the surface of CexZr1 xO2. The doping of ZrO2 in CeO2 promotes the dispersion of active copper species and enhances the reducibility of copper species. The effect of Ce/Zr ratio, calcination temperature and CuO loading amount on the catalytic performance of CuO/CexZr1 xO2 was investigated in detail. The 400 ℃-calcined 8%CuO/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 catalyst exhibits the highest activity with the complete toluene conversion temperature of 275 ℃ at the condition of GHSH = 33,000 h-1 and the toluene concentration of 4400 ppm. The interfacial interaction between CuO and the CexZr1 xO2 support, highly dispersed CuO nanoparticles and the nature of the support contribute to the high catalytic activity of mesoporous CuO/CexZr1 xO2 nanocatalysts.

        Differences in Rice stripe virus transmission abilities of Laodelphax striatellus (Homoptera: Delphacidae) from four geographical populations

        The small brown planthopper, Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén), can transfer Rice stripe virus (RSV) to host plants,which then develop rice stripe disease. Between vectors, there are two paths for RSV transmission. In currentstudy, we examined the horizontal, vertical and compound transmission rates (horizontal and vertical transmissionstogether) by L. striatellus from one non-epidemic area (Fuyang in Zhejiang province) and three epidemicareas (Yizheng and Peixian in Jiangsu province, and Donggang in Liaoning province). RSV acquisition rates fornaïve L. striatellus from the four populations were not significantly different. RSV transmission rate to healthyrice plants by viruliferous L. striatellus from Fuyang population was relatively lower than those of the otherthree populations. For example, RSV transmission rate in Fuyang population decreased by 1 fold compared tothat in Peixian population when the transmission times were 48 and 72 h. It indicated that horizontal transmissionability of Fuyang population was lower. Vertical transmission rate and the compound transmission abilitiesof infective L. striatellus in the first generation did not differ significantly among the four populations. However,the ratio of RSV-positive offspring of an infective mother in the fourth generation of Fuyang population (84.3 ±2.4%) was lowest, and decreased by 10% compared to that of Peixian population. It meant that compound transmissionability of Fuyang population was significantly lower than the other three populations. The reason for thedifference in transmission abilities of L. striatellus from different populations was discussed.

        도시공원에서 청년층의 회복환경지각이 스트레스 해소에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 한·중 공원을 중심으로

        선행연구에서 자연환경이 사람의 스트레스를 완화해 주고 도시공원이 도시의 가장 주된 자연환경으로서 회복환경지각을 가져다줄 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 본 논문의 연구목적은 환경 심리학과 경관 디자인학을 바탕으로 도시공원에서 청년층의 회복환경지각의 하위요인인 벗어남, 넓이감, 매혹감, 적합성이 스트레스 해소에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 한국 부산과 중국 옌청의 15~34세의 청년을 대상으로 한국 부산의 부산시민공원, 용두산공원, 중국 옌청시의 옌두공원, 중화해당원을 조사 장소로 설문조사를 실시하였는데 365부의 유효 설문지가 회수되었다. 수집된 데이터를 SPSS 23.0 통계 프로그램을 활용하여 회귀분석한 결과 도시공원에서 청년층의 회복환경지각의 하위요인인 벗어남, 넓이감, 매혹감, 적합성이 모두 스트레스 해소에 통계학으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 회귀 계수의 크기를 살펴보면 적합성, 벗어남, 매혹감, 넓이감의 순으로 스트레스 해소에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 도시공원 설계에 대하여 디자인 제언을 제시하였다. 도시공원 경관 디자인할 때 적합성, 벗어남과 매혹감을 중점을 두고 설계해야 하고 넓이감을 한층 더 개선해야 한다는 것이다. 즉, 청년층의 전체적인 회복환경지각을 향상하고 청년층의 스트레스를 해소할 수 있는 도시공원 경관을 조성해야 한다. 본 연구는 도시공원 조경 설계의 발전을 촉진할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 청년층의 스트레스 해소에도 이론적 참고를 마련할 수 있어서 중요한 연구 의의를 지닌다. Prior research has shown that the natural environment can relief people s stress. As the most important natural environment in the city, urban parks can bring perceived restorative environment of people. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between being away, extent, fascination, compatibility of perceived restorative environment and stress relief of young people in urban parks on the basis of environmental psychology and landscape design. Focusing on the youth group, the surveys were conducted at Busan Citizen Park and Yongdusan Park in Korea, and Yandu Park and Chinese Crabapple Blossom Park in Yancheng City, China. Finally, 365 valid questionnaire data were obtained. SPSS23.0 software has been used for regression analysis, the results show that: in urban parks, young people s sense of being away, extent, fascination and compatibility of perceived restorative environment have a statistically significant impact on stress relief, showing a significant positive impact. In addition, judging from the size of the regression coefficient, it is shown in the order of compatibility, being away, fascination, and extent, which has a great impact on the restorative environment. The research results provide a better design suggestions for urban park landscapes. When designing urban park landscapes for young people, compatibility, being away and fascination should be put on the first place, extent should be further improved and perceived restorative environment of young people should be improved and creating an urban park landscape that is beneficial to the stress relief of young people. This research can not only promote the development of urban park landscapes design, but also provide a theoretical reference for the relief of young people s stress, which has important research significance.

      • MAGED4 Expression in Glioma and Upregulation in Glioma Cell Lines with 5-Aza-2'-Deoxycytidine Treatment

        Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family genes have been considered as potentially promising targets for anticancer immunotherapy. MAGED4 was originally identified as a glioma-specific antigen. Current knowledge about MAGED4 expression in glioma is only based on mRNA analysis and MAGED4 protein expression has not been elucidated. In the present study, we investigated this point and found that MAGED4 mRNA and protein were absent or very lowly expressed in various normal tissues and glioma cell line SHG44, but overexpressed in glioma cell lines A172,U251,U87-MG as well as glioma tissues, with significant heterogeneity. Furthermore, MAGED4 protein expression was positively correlated with the glioma type and grade. We also found that the expression of MAGED4 inversely correlated with the overall methylation status of the MAGED4 promoter CpG island. Furthermore, when SHG44 and A172 with higher methylation were treated with the DNA demethylating agent 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-AZA-CdR) reactivation of MAGED4 mRNA was mediated by significant demethylation in SHG44 instead of A172. However, 5-AZA-CdR treatment had no effect on MAGED4 protein in both SHG44 and A172 cells. In conclusion, MAGED4 is frequently and highly expressed in glioma and is partly regulated by DNA methylation. The results suggest that MAGED4 might be a promising target for glioma immunotherapy combined with 5-AZA-CdR to enhance its expression and eliminate intratumor heterogeneity.

      • Neutrophil Count and the Inflammation-based Glasgow Prognostic Score Predict Survival in Patients with Advanced Gastric Cancer Receiving First-line Chemotherapy

        Purpose: To explore the value of systemic inflammatory markers as independent prognostic factors and the extent these markers improve prognostic classification for patients with inoperable advanced or metastatic gastric cancer (GC) receiving palliative chemotherapy. Methods: We studied the prognostic value of systemic inflammatory factors such as circulating white blood cell count and its components as well as that combined to form inflammation-based prognostic scores (Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR), Prognostic Index (PI) and Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI)) in 384 patients with inoperable advanced or metastatic gastric cancer (GC) receiving first-line chemotherapy. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to examine the impact of inflammatory markers on overall survival (OS). Results: Univariate analysis revealed that an elevated white blood cell, neutrophil and/or platelet count, a decreased lymphocyte count, a low serum albumin concentration, and high CRP concentration, as well as elevated NLR/PLR, GPS, PI, PNI were significant predictors of shorter OS. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that only elevated neutrophil count (HR 3.696, p=0.003) and higher GPS (HR 1.621, p=0.01) were independent predictors of poor OS. Conclusion: This study demonstrated elevated pretreatment neutrophil count and high GPS to be independent predictors of shorter OS in inoperable advanced or metastatic GC patients treated with first-line chemotherapy. Upon validation of these data in independent studies, stratification of patients using these markers in future clinical trials is recommended.

        The evaluation of online course of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Medical Bachelor, Bachelor of Surgery international students during the COVID-19 epidemic period

        Background: During the COVID-19 epidemic period, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) course for international students of Medical Bachelor, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program in Zhejiang University has shifted from traditional classroom to online environment. This study aimed to investigate MBBS international students’ perception on online TCM course, and to assess the online learning efficacy. Methods: A total of 84 MBBS international students attending course of “Basic Traditional Chinese Medicine” during 2020 academic years at Zhejiang University were enrolled in this study. A quantitative questionnaire was respectively completed before and after the TCM course using a pretest–post-test design. By means of two online learning platforms, Learning in ZJU and DingTalk, TCM course was broadcast in both live and archived format to students. Results: A total of 48 participants completed both baseline and follow-up questionnaires. The majority of participants preferred face-to-face classroom learning (26, 54.17% of total) when compared with online learning. Students felt that the course had brought in much benefits (mean 3.88, SD 0.87), and they were satisfied with the course content (mean 3.83, SD 0.95). Students’ TCM related knowledge and their behaviors of discussion and consulting were significantly improved by online TCM course (all P < 0.001). Students’ awareness of the necessity of TCM education and their feeling of difficulty in learning TCM were significantly strengthened (P = 0.042, 0.025, respectively). Conclusion: Online learning is a good alternative for TCM course of MBBS international students when classroom learning is suspended, whereas it cannot replace the need for onsite and face-to-face learning.

        Ram semen preserved at 0℃ with soybean lecithin Tris-based extender substituted for egg yolk

        Objective: The present study evaluated the preservation of ram semen at 0℃ using soybean lecithin with a Tris-fructose extender. Methods: Semen was collected by artificial vagina ejaculation from six rams with proven fertility. High quality ejaculates were diluted by soybean lecithin (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0%, 1.25%) using Tris-fructose extender and control (Tris-fructose egg yolk extender), respectively. The ejaculates were diluted to a concentration of 5×108 sperm/mL, followed by cooling to 0℃ in 90 min and maintaining the temperature for 12 days. The diluted semen samples were examined and recorded for sperm progressive motility, acrosome integrity at 0, 24, 72, 144, 216, 288 h, respectively. Two hundred and twenty-three ewes were inseminated for 216 h with optimal soybean lecithin concentrated semen or control via trans-cervical insemination. Results: The results showed that there were no differences in sperm progressive motility at 0, 24, 72, and 144 h (p>0.05). After 216 h, the sperm progressive motility in the control group and 0.5% concentration groups was significantly higher when compared to 0.25% concentration (p<0.05). The 0.5% concentration group demonstrated the highest survival rate and had no difference with the control group (p>0.05). At 216 h, the sperm progressive motility of all groups was still above 50%. The acrosome integrity of all groups was decreased with prolongation of storage time, but there was no difference at each time point (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in the lambing rate and pregnancy rate between the 0.5% concentration group and the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that ram sperm is capable of fertilization after preservation at 0℃ with 0.5% of soybean lecithin in Tris-based extender substituted for egg yolk and produce normal offspring after insemination.
