This paper presents a switched capacitor (SC) based bidirectional dc-dc converter topology for high voltage gain applications. The proposed converter is able to operate with multiple integral voltage conversion ratios based on user input. The architecture of a user-friendly, inductor-less multi-voltage-gain bidirectional dc-dc converter is proposed in this study. The inductor-less or magnetic-less design of the proposed converter makes it effective in higher temperature applications. Furthermore, the proposed converter has a reduced component count and lower voltage stress across its switches and capacitors when compared to existing SC converters. An output impedance analysis of the proposed converter is presented and compared with popular existing SC converters. The proposed converter is simulated in the OrCAD PSpice environment and the obtained results are presented. A 200 W hardware prototype of the proposed SC converter has been developed. Experimental results are presented to validate the efficacy of the proposed converter.

Alanine racemase, a bacterial enzyme belonging to the fold-type III group of pyridoxal 5`-phosphate (PLP)-dependent enzymes, has been shown to catalyze the interconversion between L- and D-alanine. The alanine racemase from the pathogenic bacterium Enterococcus faecalis v583 has been overexpressed in E. coli and was shown to crystallize an enzyme at 295 K, using polyethylene glycol (PEG) 8000 as a precipitant. X-ray diffraction data to 2.5 Å has been collected using synchrotron radiation. The crystal is a member of the orthorhombic space group, C222₁, with unit cell parameter of a=94.634, b=156.516, c=147.878Å, and α=β=γ=90˚. Two or three monomers are likely to be present in the asymmetric unit, with a corresponding Vm of 3.38Å3 Da-1 and 2.26 Å3 Da-1¹ and a solvent content of 63.7% and 45.5%, respectively.

Aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) now hold a significant share of raw materials in many applications. It is of prime importance to study the machinability of such composites so as to enhance their applicability. Sufficient work has been done for studying the machining of AMCs with particle reinforcements of micron range. This paper presents the study of AMCs with particle reinforcement of under micron range i.e. nanoparticles. This paper brings out the results of an experimental investigation of type and weight percent of nanoparticles on the tangential cutting force during turning operation. SiC, Gr and SiC-Gr (in equal proportions) were used with Al-6061 alloy as the matrix phase. The results indicate that composites with SiC require greater cutting force followed by hybrid and then Gr. Increase in the weight percent also significantly affected the magnitude of cutting force. RSM was used first to design and analyze the experiments and then to optimize the turning process and obtain optimal conditions of weight and type of reinforcements for turning operation.
A Single Input DC Source Boost Multilevel Inverter for Renewable Energy Applications
Anurag Priyadarshi,Pratik Kumar Kar,Srinivas Bhaskar Karanki 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
In this paper, a single input DC voltage source boost multilevel inverter topology is presented. The presented converter does not require multiple isolated dc sources or additional circuit for voltage balancing of the split capacitors, thus reduces the overall cost and complexity. The salient feature of the proposed converter is high voltage gain boost capability. Furthermore, due to the input inductor, it has less input current ripple and variable fractional voltage gain, which is a key requirement for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic application. Based on the proposed topology, a hardware prototype of seven-level boost inverter is developed and the experimental results are presented to validate the performance of the proposed converter.

Genes are often selected for molecular taxonomy citing their agreement to taxonomically derived speciestrees. These results are then used to define and edit existing taxonomic hierarchies of species. Wecounter the validity of this practice experimentally using mitochondrial genes routinely employed for thepurpose. We constructed trees from complete mitochondrial DNA sequence (except D-loop) and itsthirteen protein-coding genes namely nd1, nd2, nd3, nd4, nd4L, nd5, nd6, atp6, atp8, COI, COII, COIII, andcytB of 255 species of Cypriniformes fish using the maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods. Whilend4, nd5, COI, COII, COIII, and cytB formed trees at par with the species tree, no gene produced completeconcurrence. Similarly, while few genes formed similar branching patterns at family (COI and COIII) orbroad group (nd1, nd2, and nd3; nd5 and COII) levels, no two gene trees fully agreed with each other. Tajima’s D estimates of all studied genes indicated non-random evolution, violating the basic assumptionof molecular phylogenetics. Bootstrap or Posterior probability values were also poor for several taxaindicating low robustness. Our findings reiterate that tree concurrence noted in studies involving smallersample sizes is not a reflection of the evolutionary signature of the species.

The identifcation of fertility restoration and genetic diversity of drought-tolerant breeding lines will be useful for the development of promising drought-tolerant rice hybrids. The extent of genetic variation of 204 drought-tolerant breeding lines based on the coefcient of parentage (COP) and test crossing with IR 58025A is studied. The linked molecular markers to Rf genes were screened on identifed maintainers and restorers. The average value of COP for 204 drought-tolerant breeding lines was 0.21, which indicates genetic divergence in breeding lines. Four major groups comprising of 81 IR 64 type, 37 Apo type, 28 Vandana type, 6 WAB type and 52 others were identifed. Out of 204 breeding lines, 37 (18.14%) maintainers, 55 (26.96%) partial maintainers, 63 (30.88%) partial restorers and 49 (24.02%) restorers were identifed. Rf genes linked molecular markers RM7466 and RM443 on chr. 1; RM6344 on chr. 7 and RM6100, RM1108, RM216, RM171 and RM244 on chr. 10 were found associated with restorers and maintainers. These Rf genes linked molecular markers might be furthermore used in marker-assisted restorer selection in cytoplasmic male sterile-WA system from large source nurseries to avoid usual test crosses in the hybrid rice development programme. The identifed restorer and maintainers may be used for the development of high-yielding drought-tolerant rice hybrids.

Acknowledging the relevance of work environment in influencing job-related choices, this paper examines the relationship between emotional intelligence, role-based job crafting i.e. task, relational and cognitive crafting, job autonomy and internal employability. The role of job autonmy as a moderator and role-based job crafting as mediator between emotional intelligence and internal employability has also been examined. The study was conducted on 296 managers working in Indian public sector enterprises and found interesting findings including a positive and direct effect of emotional intelligence on all three forms of role-based job crafting and internal employability. The results for mediation effect of job crafting and moderation effect of job autonomy varied depending upon the form of role-based job crafting. The paper discusses theoretical implications and practical relevance of these findings and may provide a direction for interlinking job demands-resources and conservation of resource theories.
Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Urinary Bladder Managed by Laparoscopic Partial Cystectomy

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the urinary bladder is a rare mesenchymal tumor with uncertain malignant potential. It often mimics soft tissue sarcomas both clinically and radiologically. Surgical resection in the form of partial cystectomy or transurethral resection remains the mainstay of treatment. Herein we report the case of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in a young girl, which was managed by laparoscopic partial cystectomy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of laparoscopic management of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the urinary bladder.
