A Study on the Factors Influencing Long-Term Goal-Relevant Food Consumption

Purpose - This research aims to explore factors that could facilitate and/or impede consumers’ long-term goal-relevant food consumption, in the pursuit of a long-term goal. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - The main experiment’s sample comprised 289 female students at C University. The structural equation model of the Amos 18.0 program was used to verify the hypotheses. Results - Hypotheses concerning positive effects of long-term goal commitment and expectancy of long-term goal attainment, and negative effects of pleasure-seeking needs on long-term goal-relevant food consumption behaviors were accepted. Furthermore, self-efficacy’s positive effects on long-term goal commitment and expectancy of long-term goal attainment, and negative effects on the strength of pleasure-seeking were explored. Appearance self-esteem negatively affected long-term goal commitment. Conclusions - Individuals’ self-efficacy positively affects long-term goal commitment and expectancy of long-term goal attainment, and significantly weakens the need to seek pleasure in food consumption behaviors. Appearance self-esteem negatively affects long-term goal commitment. Both long-term goal commitment and expectancy of long-term goal attainment significantly positively influence long-term goal-relevant food consumption behaviors. However, those heavily needing pleasure-seeking are less likely to engage in such behaviors.
Marketing Strategies for Seasonality in Turkish Tourism

계절적 변동은 세계적으로 가장 독특한 관광특성 중 하나로서 일반적으로 관광 산업의 주요 문제로 간주되고 있다. 본 논문은 마케팅 관점에서 터키관광을 예로 계절적 변동에 대응가능한 세가지 방법을 제시하였다. 계절적 변동 줄이기 위한 방안으로 전략 1을 제안하며, 전략 2을 통해 계절성 패턴의 강도를 높이는 방안을 제공한다. 전략 3은 전략 1과 전략 2를 결합한 방법이다. 본 연구는 궁극적으로는 마케팅 관점에서 관광 산업의 전체적인 수익개선과 경쟁력을 키워나가는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 산업과 전략의 계절성 패턴에 관한 새로운 통찰력을 제공하며 본 연구에서 제시된 전략은 다른 나라, 특히 지중해 국가에도 일반화될 수 있다. Seasonality is one of the most distinctive features of tourism worldwide and is generally considered as the main problem in the tourism industry. This article takes tourism in Turkey as an example to illustrate possible ways to deal with seasonality pattern from a marketing point of view via providing three different strategies. Strategy 1 proposes mitigation of the degree of seasonality problem by attracting elder visitors who are not restricted by holiday’s seasons and have their own traveling preferences, and those who have a large potentiality to increase the number of visitors in “off-peak” such as China, Korea, and Japan. It investigates each target market’s characteristics and gives corresponding marketing suggestions. In contrast, strategy 2 presents increment of the degree of seasonality pattern by increasing German and Russian visitors who are the top two countries having most visitors in Turkey. Further, it describes and analyzes the characteristics of German and Russian visitors and proposes corresponding marketing suggestions. Strategy 3 combines strategy 1 and strategy 2 that are two plausibly contradicted strategies purported to decrease seasonality in “off-peak” season and to augment seasonality in “peak” season. Our eventual goal is to raise the total profitability and competitiveness of the tourism industry from a marketing point of view. This article provides a new insight into seasonality patterns in the tourism industry and strategies suggested from this article would be generalized into other countries, especially Mediterranean countries.

The fl exible electrodes are the essential components for fabricating modern fl exible supercapacitors. In this study, a compositehybrid fi lm integrated with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and γ-MnO 2 nanorods asa fl exible electrode has been developed by the electrochemical deposition method. The substrate (rGO) of the electrode notonly provides mechanical stability but also ensures fast electron transfer during charge–discharge. The Ag NPs distributedin electrode provide the electronic channel to enhance the electric conductivity. The γ-MnO 2 electroplated on the surface ofhybrid fi lms further improved the electrochemical performance of them. The resultant γ-MnO 2 /Ag/rGO hybrid fi lms exhibita high specifi c capacitance of 1090.3 F g −1 at current density of 0.3 A g −1 . The asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) deviceswere further fabricated by γ-MnO 2 /Ag/rGO fi lms as anode and AC/rGO fi lms as cathode electrodes within a wide operatingvoltage of 0–1.7 V. The energy density of obtained ASC devices was 71.8 Wh kg −1 at a power density of 279.4 W kg −1 .
Synthesis and Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of Black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 Monoliths

Black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 monoliths were successfully synthesized by a combined route including sol–gel method with polystyrene spheres as template followed by calcination at high temperature in the presence of oxygen. As-synthesized samples were then treated in hydrogen atmosphere at 500℃ for 6 h to obtain black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 monoliths. This as-synthesized black porous Zr-doped TiO2 composite showed relatively narrow bandgap compared to the pure anatase phase of TiO2, which may have its origin from the contributions from the Zr impurity and oxygen vacancies. The photocatalytic activity of the black porous Zr-doped TiO2 monolith was examined by carrying out the dye degradation on Rhodamine B under visible irradiation. Our experimental results indicate that black porous 0.9% Zr-doped TiO2 sample exhibits high photocatalytic activity with the photodecomposition of 95.25% under visible irradiation for 120 min.
