Stilbenes and Oligostilbenes from Leaf and Stem of Vitis amurensis and Their Cytotoxic Activity

Chromatographic separation of the EtOAc fraction from the leaf and stem of Vitis amurensis led to the isolation of six oligostilbenoids (i.e., r-2-viniferin (1), trans-amurensin B (2), trans-ε -viniferin (3), gnetinH (4), amurensin G (5), (+)-ampelopsin A (8)) and four stilbenoids (i.e., trans-resveratrol (6), (+)- ampelopsin F (7), piceatannol (9), and trans-piceid (10)). The structures have been identified on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and physicochemical properties. The isolates were investigated for cytotoxic activity against three cancer cell lines in vitro using the MTT assay method. Amurensin G (5) and trans-resveratrol (6) showed significant cytotoxic activity against L1210, K562 and HTC116 cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 15.7 ± 2.1 to 30.9 ± 1.8 μM. (+)-Ampelopsin A (8) and trans-piceid (10) exhibited considerable cytotoxic activity against L1210 (IC50 values of 30.6 ± 4.1 and 28.7 ± 2.81μM, respectively) and K562 (IC50 values of 38.6 ± 0.82 and 24.6 ± 0.76 μM, respectively). Gnetin H (4)showed only weak cytotoxic activity against L1210 with an IC50 value of 40.1 ± 4.23 μM. On the other hand, r-2-viniverin (1), trans-amurensin B (2), trans-ε -viniferin (3), (+)-ampelopsin F (7), and piceatannol(9) exhibited no activity on three cancer cell lines.
A Review of Accounting Research Trends in the World

Trends in international accounting harmonization are extensive, so that demand on accounting research to meet international standards is more necessary and instant. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a review of accounting papers and find out the main characteristics of current accounting research trends in the world. I investigate trends by examining papers published in six top accouting journals (JCR 2015) from 2015 to 2016. I used citations made by accounting papers as a proxy for ranking and examine trends in topics and methodologies of these papers. This paper’s results suggest that financial accounting topics and archival methodologies are becoming more significantly over time during the research period. Moreover, the results also show that the movement in accounting research trends from a normative perspective to a positive perspective, especially an experimental research. From these results, I discuss the major characteristics of future accounting research trends and give some implications about accounting research to Vietnamese researchers.

This study seeks to examine the relationship between business resources (through VRIN: Valuable - valuable, Rare - scarce; Inimitable - difficult to adapt, Irreplaceable - hard to replace), dynamic capability, external cooperation, and efficiency of startups operating in the seafood export sector. Research data was collected randomly and conveniently from 250 enterprises in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Vietnam, from October 2020 to December 2020. After excluding those ineligible, the remaining 204 enterprises meet the research conditions. With the support of SPSS-AMOS 22 dedicated software, using the 5-step Likert scale and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the study conducted analysis steps such as verifying convergence, discriminant value, unidirectional and scale reliability when giving the components correlated freely in the critical model by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) analysis. Results of the study have shown that the enterprise resource factor - VRIN has a positive impact on dynamic capability, and outside cooperation. However, in contrast to previous studies, we found that the relationship between enterprise resources - VRIN and performance as well as the relationship between dynamics capacity and performance is not clear. This shows that seafood exporters need to promote, exploit and effectively use this precious resource to improve business efficiency.

Business is an important entity in every economy with its role in job creation, budget contribution, and national output. It can be said that enterprises are also one of the leading units that play a key role in implementing digital transformation, grasping science and technology, and improving labor productivity. Developing a team of enterprises that are both strong in quantity and strong in quality is an urgent requirement in many countries, including Vietnam. Vietnam is a developing country and home to many textile and garment enterprises operating due to the advantages of cheap labor and a large market, the textile and garment industry is capable of creating many jobs for the economy. Studying the factors affecting corporate financial performance across 250 textile and garment enterprises in Hanoi capital and Bac Ninh province, the research results show that when enterprises have the ability to mobilize capital, the cost is cheap, appropriate, and optimal, most businesses often achieve higher business efficiency and financial performance. In contrast, enterprises that are difficult to raise capital in the economy often achieve low financial efficiency and financial performance. The study also confirms the role of human capital in enterprises, enterprises with high human capital often achieve high profits.

Purpose: This article focuses on exploring the associations between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. Specifically, this study estimates the impacts of Vietnamese employees’ job satisfaction on their organizational commitment and turnover intention in FDI enterprises. Research design, data and methodology: The measures are adapted from previous studies to develop a questionnaire with a seven-point Likert scale. The dataset is directly collected from 227 respondents who are employees at FDI enterprises situated in the North of Vietnam. The dataset is analyzed by quantitative approaches using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. Results: The results show that while turnover intention is positively correlated with monthly income, it is negatively correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Also, organizational commitment is positively associated with job satisfaction among employees at FDI enterprises in Vietnam. Conclusions: The findings of this study will serve as useful references for administrators of FDI enterprises and policymakers to promote employees’ job satisfaction and retain skilled employees.

우리는 흔히 비교를 통해서 서로의 관련 현상의 특수성을 확인할 수 있고 그로부터 일반적 혹은 독특한 가치나 발전의 규칙을 발견할 수 있다. 본고는 이와 같은 관점에서 베트남 쯔놈문학의 걸작으로 불리우는 끼에우전의 비교에 있어서 역사유형 방법론의 적용에 관해서 살펴보고자 한다. 역사유형 방법론(historical typology)은 19세기 말에 러시아에서 출현했으며, 문학이라는 것은 민족이라는 배경 속에 존재하는 동시에 세계의 배경 속에도 놓여 있다는 것이다. 따라서 세계 역사 발전과정의 공통적인 규칙을 통해 공간적으로 멀리 떨어져 있음에도 불구하고 유사한 문학현상을 보인다고 주장한다 이러한 주장은 공간적 배경이 다르며 접촉관계가 없음에도 불구하고 유사한 문학현상이 존재하고 있다는 것을 설명하는데 유용한 방법이 된다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 방법론은 작가들로부터 창작자의 독창성을 간과하고 있다는 비판을 받고 있다. 예를 들어, 베트남의 끼에우전과 한국의 춘향전을 비교하면 인도적 감흥과 예술 형식(인물, 줄거리, 쟝르 등)에 있어서의 유사성을 볼 수 있다. 이러한 경우에 영향 관계에 의한 유사성 측면에서는 설명이 아주 힘들어지게 된다 따라서 작품이 탄생되는 시기의 역사, 사회적 상황의 유사성을 통해서 민족 및 세계 문학의 발전의 규율을 찾아낼 수 있을 것이다. 베트남의 민족문학인 끼에우전과 외국작품을 비교할 때, 역사유형 방법론은 유럽 중심주의나 민족주의의 극단을 피할 수 있는 보다 객관적인 연구방법이 될 수 있으며 특히, 같은 동아시아 문학인 한국의 춘향전과의 비교도 중화사상의 극단을 피하면서 중국문학, 문화의 영향을 객관적으로 조명하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법이 될 것이다.
Experiment on Nearest Level Modulation algorithm for FPGA based Modular Multilevel Converters

Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) have many advantages in comparison with conventional multilevel converters in application to high voltage system. However, the control system of MMC requires a large amount of I/O signal ports which cannot be generated by a single digital signal processor (DSP) with maximum I/O port of 24. This paper fucuses on the experimental results of aMMC that uses a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) in which embedge the Nearest Level Modulation (NLM) method and capacitor voltage balancing algorithm. The MMC consists of 12 Sub-Modules (SM) in each phase to generate a 13-level ac output voltage. Applying the NLM method and capacitor voltage balancing algorithm have significantly reduced the switching frequency and produced an ac output voltage with very low harmonic distortion. The experimental results have verified by a laboratory-scale prototype and compared with the simulation results.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Cleistocalyx operculatus</I> flower buds are used as a main ingredient in various beverages and herbal tea in tropical areas. The present study was conducted to investigate anti-osteoclastogenic effects of ethanol extract of <I>C. operculatus</I> flower buds (ECB) and to identify anti-osteoclastogenic compounds in these buds. ECB significantly inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation and decreased RANKL-induced the activation of NFATc1. We isolated nineteen compounds from <I>C. operculatus</I> flower buds and found that eight compounds, including maslinic acid (<B>6</B>) and its two coumaroyl analogs (<B>7</B> and <B>8</B>), significantly inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast formation. Among these, 3-O-<I>trans</I>-<I>p</I>-coumaroyl maslinic acid (<B>8</B>) showed the most potent inhibitory effect on RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis via impairment of c-Fos and NF-κB activation, and subsequently, NFATc1 activation. These results suggested that identification of the anti-osteoclastogenic compounds from <I>C. operculatus</I> flower buds may extend our understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying biological activities of <I>C. operculatus</I> flower buds for osteoclast-related diseases.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The anti-osteoclastogenic effect of <I>Cleistocalyx operculatus</I> is demonstrated. </LI> <LI> Ethanol extract of <I>C. operculatus</I> flower buds (ECB) inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis. </LI> <LI> Eight compounds are identified as anti-osteoclastogenic compounds from ECB. </LI> <LI> Maslinic acid and its two coumaroyl analogs inhibit RANKL-induced NFATc1 activation. </LI> <LI> The mechanism explains the anti-osteoclastogenic effect of C. operculatus flower buds. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
