Background: S tudies on the specificity of ABH antigen-antibody interactions at different pH values are rare. Therefore, the aim of this study was to estimate the effect of acidification of the reacting medium on the agglutinating ability of anti-A monoclonal antibodies (mABs) and their inhibition by glycoconjugates of red blood cell membranes. Methods: Anti-A mABs were obtained from the Fourth International Workshop on Monoclonal Antibodies Against Human Red Blood Cell and Related Antigens (on July 19-20, 2002, in Paris, France). The glycoconjugates were isolated from erythrocytes' membranes. The inhibition of the lipid and protein isotypes of the blood group A antigen was assessed. Results: The acidic medium decreased the agglutinating ability of acid immunoglobulin M (IgM) anti-A mABs, in contrast to alkaline immunoglobulin G (IgG) mABs. Meanwhile, at pH 6.5, IgM antibodies exhibited a high adsorption capacity, while IgG antibodies demonstrated a strong adsorption capacity at an alkaline pH. mABs 2-19, 2-28, 2-22, and 2-8 were inhibited by the acidic lipid and protein glycotopes of erythrocyte membranes. However, mAB 2-8 was inhibited by both acidic and alkaline glycotope variants. Conclusions: The agglutinating and adsorbing abilities of mABs, which are revealed at opposing pH values, should be taken into account during studies of antigen-antibody interactions.

Substantive provisions of the concept of an estimation and safety of complex technical systems are envisaged. New problems are assume orientation to use of the formalized methods of an estimation of residual resources of reliability of objects, and also development of other methodological base in creation of complex technical systems that is connected with detailed elaboration of attention to a safety at all stages of creation of systems: from designing until operation. In this connection existing large objects should be provided by the developed systems of engineering monitoring and diagnostics.
Centrifugal Induction Coating of Metallic Powders

Principal peculiarities of technology for applying coatings of metallic powders on internal surfaces of hollow cylindrical parts by centrifugal method with induction heating from internal surface of part are examined. It is shown that most effective checking and regulating method of sintered powder layer is monitoring the high-frequency current generator power upon contactless pickup indications of external surface temperature of rotating part.
Effect of pH on antioxidant properties of ablated CeO2 nanoparticles in photocatalytic process

The physicochemical properties of ablated cerium dioxide nanoparticles have been studied in the photocatalyticdegradation of methylene blue in the presence of a ZnO nanocatalyst. It was shown that in thephotocatalytic process, CeO2 nanoparticles exhibit good antioxidant properties due to an increased contentof structural defects in the surface atomic layers of ablated nanoparticles. It was found that theantioxidant activity of the particles increases with a growth of the pH of the aqueous solution.

A generalized analysis of crosshead and crosshead-free piston hybrid power machine (PHPM) is conducted in this research. A comparison of these machines was carried out experimentally by using two created experimental samples for comparison with practically the same working volumes of the compressor and pump sections, crosshead, and crossheadfree piston hybrid power machines. The comparison was performed within the framework of the following units: thermodynamic unit, dynamic unit, comparison unit for weight and size indicators, comparison unit for reliability and durability, comparison unit for the manufacturing technology, and the provision of gaps in the cylinder-piston group. Results of the experimental data were compared in the thermodynamic comparison unit in terms of cooling the compressor section, flow coefficient and its components, volumetric efficiency of the pump section, and cavitation margin. Comparison results show that the temperature of the cylinder-piston group and, in particular, the temperature of the valve body and of the suction gas of the crossheadfree PHPM is lower than those of the crosshead PHPM; the indicator isothermal efficiency of the crosshead-free PHPM is higher than that of the crosshead PHPM; and the volumetric efficiency for a cross-head-free PHPM is 5 %-10 % higher than that for a crosshead PHPM. The comparison of the acting forces and torques of the crosshead and crosshead-free PHPM established that the crosshead PHPM has better dynamic characteristics in terms of maximum effective force and torque unevenness. Moreover, the PHPM crosshead-free scheme has better overall characteristics.
