Incidence, and Identification of Three Root-Knot Nematode species Occurring in the Medicinal Herbs

Soil and root samples were collected form the rhizoshpere of 11 different medicinal plants to determine the incidence, density and identification of root-knot nematode species associated with medicinal herbs. About 55% of medicinal herbs examined was found to be infested with root-knot nematodes. As a result of infection casued by three root-knot nematodes, M. hapla recorded 43.3% in medicinal herba whereas M. incognita and M. arenaria showed 7.9% and 3.7%, repectively. Forsythia koreana, Hemerocalis fulva, Hibuscus mutabilis and Petasites japonicus were the most severely infested herbs whereas Acanthopanax sessilflorus was least infested. Population of the second stage younger plants. Meloidogyne hapla, M. incognita and M. arenaria were the species associated with the medicinal herbs. The most abundant nematode observed in medicinal herbs was M. hapla and followed by M. incognita and M. arenaria. M. arenaria was observed firstly on Ficus carica, one of medicinal plant.
보온부직포 이중피복이 참외의 생육, 품질 및 수량에 미치는 영향

참외 무가온 재배시 보온부직포를 이용하여 보온재배 하고 있으며 한번 구입한 보온부직포는 보온력과 관계없이 장기간 사용하고 있다. 본 시험은 참외 무가온 재배시 보온부직포의 활용도를 높이기 위하여 보온 부직포의 이중피복에 따른 보온효과, 생육, 품질 및 수량성을 구명하기 위하여 정식 전부터 4월 20일까지 보온부직포를 9+3온스, 6+6온스 그리고 6+3온스로 이중으로 덮어 12온스와 비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 터널내 야간 온도는 9+3온스 처리구에서 가장 높았고 6+6온스, 6+3온스 그리고 12온스 순이었다. 생육은 12온스에 비하여 이중피복구에서 초장, 엽수, 일비액량 등 생육이 우수하였으며 특히 9+3온스 처리구에서 가장 좋았다. 과중, 과육두께, 당도, 상품과율 및 수량 등은 처리간 차이는 없었으나 발효과 발생율은 12온스의 32.9%에 비하여 9+3온스, 6+6온스, 6+3온스 이중피복 처리구에서 각각 19.6%, 10.2%, 16.6% 감소하였다. 10a당 수량은 12온스의 2,260 ㎏에 비하여 9+3온스에서는 7% 증가하였으나, 6+6온스 및 6+3온스에서는 각각 3%, 13% 감소하였다. 소득은 12온스의 4,499천원에 비하여 9+3온스에서는 13%, 6+6온스 3% 증가한 반면 6+3온스에서는 10% 감소하였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 참외 무가온 재배시 보온효과, 품질, 경제성분석 결과 보온부직포를 12온스 한 겹으로 덮는 것보다는 9+3온스나 6+6온스 등과 같이 이중으로 피복하는 것이 좋은 것으로 생각되었다. The use of blankets to preserve heat in oriental melon cultivation is a common practise without artificial heating and warming systems. Efficiency of blanket decreased with annually usage. This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of double layer nonwoven fabrics on heat conservation, plant growth, fruit quality and yield of oriental melon in greenhouse. The results were compared among the nonwoven fabrics of 9+3, 6+6, 6+3 and 12 ounce from transplanting to April 20, 2001, 2002. Night temperature within tunnel was high at 9+3, 6+6, 6+3 and 12 ounce in order. In plant growth, stem length, leaf numbers and exudate, under double layer nonwoven fabrics were better than single layer blanket of 12 ounce especially, 9+3 double layer blanket was the best. Fruit weight, flesh thickness, soluble solid and marketable yield rate remained same in all treatments. Fermented fruit rate was the highest in 12 ounce as 32.9%, 19.6% under 9+3, 17.1% under 6+6, 16.6% under 6+3 double layer nonwoven fabric, respectively. Compared to 2,260㎏ yield per 10a of 12 ounce single layer nonwoven fabrics, 7% was increased under 9+3 but 3% and 13% were decreased under 6+6 and 6+3 double layer nonwoven fabrics, respectively. Compared to income, 4,499-thousand-won per 10a, of 12 ounce single layer blanket, 13% and 3% were increased under 9+3 and 6+6 double layer nonwoven fabrics, respectively. Whereas, 10% decreased under 6+3 double layer nonwoven fabrics. From this results it is evident that 9+3 double layer nonwoven fabrics was the best for thermokeeping, fruit quality, and was most economic under non heating system.
