Effects of VFAs and Glucose Infusions on Ruminating Behavior of the Fasted-Goats

To test their roles in rumination behavior, metabolites (acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and glucose) were intravenously infused into the jugular vein of goats during fasting. The heads of four female goats tested were locked in a stanchion of cages in an experimental room. Ruminating behaviors with regard to number of ruminations, ruminating time, number of remastications and remasticating time were significantly decreased by acetic acid infusion (p < 0.05), and tended to be depressed more on values in butyric acid infusion or glucose infusion than those in pre-infusions, but propionic acid infusion decreased a little. Those data suggest that rumination receptors sensitive to VFAs and glucose are more likely to be situated in the area, where they would respond too blood levels.
Optimal Operation Strategy with using BESS and DGs in Distribution System

This paper proposes a methodology for distribution system operation using battery energy storage system (BESS), interfaced inverter with DGs and existing voltage control devices. The proposed method decides the optimal operation schedule of each control device by optimal calculation. Optimal calculation uses a forecast information for a next day photovoltaic generator output and load demand. As a result, the proposed method achieves a voltage control for each of the node within the acceptable range, smoothing an interconnection point power flow and reducing of total distribution loss. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by using MATLAB.
EFFECTS OF ALTERNATING 6-HOUR LIGHT/DARK CYCLES ON THE RUMINATING BEHAVIOR OF FASTED GOATS

Experiments were conducted to study the effects of a dark (06:00-12:00), light (12:00-18:00), dark (18:00-24:00), and light (00:00-06:00) cycle on the ruminating behavior of five fasting female goats. Rumination time and number of boli were not different in the dark and light periods of the fed state or in the second and third days of fasting. Ruminating time and number of boli increased in the dark (06:00-12:00) period compared to the light (12:00-18:00) period during the first day of fasting. Ruminating time was higher after the first day of fasting than the fed state, and decreased substantially after the first day of fasting than the fed state, and decreased substantially after the second and third days of fasting compared to the fed state or the first day of fasting. Number of boli/day was not different among the fed state, the second and third days of fasting but was higher after the first day fasting compared to the fed state.
Performance Comparison of Autoencoder based OFDM Communication System with Wi-Fi

In this paper, performance of autoencoder based OFDM communication systems is compared with IEEE 802.11a Wireless Lan System (Wi-Fi). The proposed autoencoder based OFDM system is composed of the following steps. First, one sub-carrier's transmitter - channel - receiver system is created by autoencoder. Then learning process of the one sub-carrier autoencoder generates constellation map. Secondly, using the plural sub-carrier autoencoder systems, parallel bundle is configured with inserting IFFT and FFT before and after the channel to configure OFDM system. Finally, the receiver part of the OFDM communication system was updated by re-learning process for adapting channel condition such as multipath channel. For performance comparison, IEEE802.11a and the proposed autoencoder based OFDM system are compared. For channel estimation, Wi-Fi uses initial long preamble to measure channel condition. but Autoencoder needs re-learning process to create an equalizer which compensate a distortion caused by the transmission channel. Therefore, this autoencoder based system has basic advantage to the Wi-Fi system. For the comparison of the system, additive random noise and 2-wave and 4-wave multipaths are assumed in the transmission path with no inter-symbol interference. A simulation was performed to compare the conventional type and the autoencoder. As a result of the simulation, the autoencoder properly generated automatic constellations with QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM. In the previous simulation, the received data was relearned, thus the performance was poor, but the performance improved by making the initial value of reception a random number. A function equivalent to an equalizer for multipath channels has been realized in OFDM systems. As a future task, there is not include error correction at this time, we plan to make further improvements by incorporating error correction in the future.

This research forecasts order trends for drugstores based on order history datasets. Frequency–monetary–distance (FMD) analysis, merchandise clustering, and a modified model selection criterion are used to improve forecast accuracy. FMD analysis is a store classification method that is used for considering accessibility to the store as one of its characteristics. Merchandise clustering uses a wavelet transform aimed at finding the common order trends in products from the order history. The modified model selection criterion is intended to provide forecast models that reduce either underestimated or overestimated errors. Our verification results show that FMD analysis provides forecasts with fewer errors for most products, compared to the classification method without considering accessibility. Wavelet-based clustering reduces forecast errors depending on mother wavelets. The modified model selection criterion also reduces underestimated or overestimated errors.
