Rice bran is concentrated with many bioactive chemicals including phenolics, oryzanol and vitamin E, that exert beneficial effects on human health, but it varies with polished and unpolished condition of rice bran. Thus this study was aimed to analyze the phenolic compounds and biological activities of four polished and un-polished rice varieties Glutinous (Hwasunchal), Sea tangle glutinous (Dongjinchalbyeo), Sea tangle unpolished (Odae), Unpolished (Chukang). Total 12 phenolics were separated within 30 min as compared retention time of standards in high-performance liquid chromatography. The ferulic acid was the most abundant free phenolic acid in all rice varieties. The rice bran extracts revealed strong antioxidant activity towards DPPH (EC50 100-165 mg/mL) and FRAP (EC50 6.5-9.5 mg/g). The extracts of unpolished (90 %) and sea taugle unpolished rice (58 %) showed higher inhibition as compared to glutinous (42 %) and sea taugle glutinous rice (56 %) in their effects on ADP-induced platelet aggregation. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents of rice bran extract were 35.5-68.6 and 8.6-48.6 mg/100 g for free form and 1.2-5.2 and 0.58-2.1 mg/100 g for bound form, respectively. The results indicate that the un-polished rice presented higher free and bound phenolics content than polished rice variety, also the un-polished rice revealed enhanced nutrient quality with significant antioxidant and antiplatelet activities.

Ontology-based multi-agent system for urban freight transportation
Nilesh Anand,Ron van Duin,Lori Tavasszy 서울시립대학교 도시과학연구원 2014 도시과학국제저널 Vol.18 No.2
Congestion, pollution, and safety are some of the most worrisome side-effects of the urban goods movement activities. These problems are generally attributed to the underlying characteristics of the domain such as heterogeneous stakeholders, their conflicting objectives and resulting distributed decision-making. Such autonomous decision-making stakeholders do not efficiently cooperate and coordinate while performing city logistics activities. The ensuing inefficient use of resources (e.g. goods delivery vehicle, time, etc.) gives rise to the above-mentioned problems. To reduce the negative externalities of urban goods movement, we first must understand the decision-making process of the city logistics stakeholder under different situations. Agent-based simulation modelling technique is such an approach where distributed decision-making of the multiple stakeholders can be included by modelling each entity as an autonomous agent. In this paper, we propose the use of a knowledge data model of urban freight domain – city logistics ontology – to develop an agent-based model. City logistics ontology is a knowledge model which includes city logistics entities (e.g. stakeholders, resources, etc.) and relationships between them in a structured form. The paper focuses on the usefulness of ontology in the development of agent-based model for city logistics domain, and attempts to demonstrate the effectiveness of agent technology in analysing the urban freight decision-making processes.

The hierarchical K/LTL zeolites prepared by post-synthesis modification with aqueous 1.5 M KOHsolution by varying alkali volume to K/LTL zeolite (10–70 ml/g) ratios, were examined in Knoevenagelcondensation. The physico-chemical properties of the catalysts were thoroughly evaluated by PXRD,FTIR, ICP, CO2-TPD, XPS, N2 adsorption/desorption and 29Si and 27Al MAS-NMR. Among all the samples, hierarchical K/LTL prepared by treating K/LTL with 50 ml aqueous 1.5 M KOH solution per gram of K/LTLdisplayed about 1.5 fold higher catalytic activity as compared to parent K/LTL, presumably because ofcombined effect of enhanced basicity and molecular diffusion through pore channels.
Vertical GaN Reverse Trench-Gate Power MOSFET and DC-DC Converter
Nilesh Kumar Jaiswal,V. N. Ramakrishnan 한국전기전자재료학회 2021 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.22 No.3
A vertical GaN reverse trench-gate power MOSFET (RT-MOSFET) device is proposed. This Vertical RT-MOSFET features the negative incline of broaden-trench sidewalls at the bottom of the gate. Numerical device simulations using TCAD have been carried out for device and circuit performance study and analysis. The device performance like transfer characteristics, on-state, off -state characteristics, capacitance–voltage characteristics is observed. The simulation results are shown in comparison to the conventional such as perpendicular trench-gate (UT), and trapezoidal trench-gate (VT)-MOSFET devices. The RT-MOSFET has a ~ 9% and ~ 20% reduced on-state resistance (R on ), ~ 6% and ~ 10% enhanced electrical breakdown voltage (V br ), and ~ 21% and ~ 46% superior Baliga’s fi gure of merits ( V2 br∕Ron) compared to UT-MOSFET and VT-MOSFET, respectively. Next, we obtain lower energy loss using TCAD Mixed-mode simulation for DC-DC boost converter circuit performance with diff erent voltage. The RT-MOSFET saves ~ 30% and ~ 76% energy loss at 100 V, ~ 43%, and ~ 75% energy loss at 200 V and ~ 54% and ~ 87% energy loss at 400 V during DC-DC converter application compared to UT-MOSFET and VT-MOSFET, respectively.
