• Survival of Triple Negative versus Triple Positive Breast Cancers: Comparison and Contrast

Negi, Preety,Kingsley, Pamela Alice,Jain, Kunal,Sachdeva, Jaineet,Srivastava, Himanshu,Marcus, Sudeep,Pannu, Aman Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.8

Background: Triple negative (TN) and triple positive (TP) breast cancers both are aggressive types but TN generally has a shorter survival. Objectives: To compare the clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes for patients with TN versus TP breast cancer and to assess various prognostic factors affecting overall survival. Materials and Methods: A retrospective audit of 85 breast cancer patients was conducted in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology on patients from 2006 to 2013 for whom IHC for ER, PgR and Her-2 neu were available. The patients were stratified into: ER-, PR- and Her-2 neu- (Arm A, n=47) and ER+, PgR+ and Her-2 neu+ (Arm B, n=38). Results: TN subtype had higher numbers of premenopausal and advanced stage patients as compared to TP subtype. The locoregional recurrence (LRR) and distant metastatic rate was also higher in TN subtype but there was no definite pattern in both the arms. Among the prognostic factors, patients with premenopausal status and advanced stage in TN breast cancer had inferior survival (P=0.07) whereas for those with postmenopausal status and early stage there was no survival difference between the two arms. Conclusions: TN subtype tends to be more aggressive in terms of younger age and advanced stage at presentation, higher tumour grade, LRR and metastasis, suggesting need for future research efforts on providing aggressive treatment to these patients. We could attribute better outcome for TP subtype to receptor positivity enabling role of hormonal treatment and targeted therapy, although less number of patients received targeted therapy.

“Neither it had social work components nor experiential”: Students' perspectives of online fieldwork practice during COVID ‐19 in India

Negi Dandub Palzor,E P Abdul Azeez 한국사회복지학회 2022 Asian Social Work and Policy Review Vol.16 No.3

This paper explores social work students' perspectives of online fieldwork practice that emerged due to sudden disruption in field placement as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19 in India. We have recruited and interviewed 32 Master's students from five north-Indian universities to participate in the research. The study's findings highlight ill-equipped agencies lacking social work components in online/virtual field placement. Also, ethical dilemmas in working virtually, disconnectedness from the field, and superficial supervision were experienced by the students. The study result implies the urgent need to develop and innovate a pedagogical approach to deal with uncertainties and crises like the COVID-19.

Development and evaluation of glyceryl behenate based solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) using hot self-nanoemulsification (SNE) technique

Negi, Jeetendra Singh,Chattopadhyay, Pronobesh,Sharma, Ashok Kumar,Ram, Veerma 대한약학회 2014 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.37 No.3

The purpose of this research was to improve oral bioavailability of poorly aqueous soluble drug lopinavir using solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs). Glyceryl behenate based SLNs of lopinavir were prepared using hot self-nanoemulsification (SNE) technique. The hot isotropic mixture of glyceryl behenate, Poloxamer 407 and polyethylene glycol 4000 was spontaneously self-nanoemulsify in hot water ($80^{\circ}C$) and SLNs were subsequently formed with rapid cooling. Hot SNE ability of isotropic mixture was visually assessed by ternary phase diagram study. Optimized SLNs were having particle size of $214.5{\pm}4.07nm$, entrapment efficiency of $81.6{\pm}2.3%$ and zeta potential of $-12.7{\pm}0.87mV$. SLNs were evaluated by transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy for morphological details. Further, differential scanning calorimetry and x-ray diffraction were also performed for solid state characterization of SLNs. Higher oral bioavailability (3.56-fold) was found for lopinavir loaded SLNs in comparison to bulk lopinavir due to higher lymphatic drug transport (p<0.05). Results indicate that SLNs of glyceryl behenate can be successfully prepared by hot SNE technique.

In vitro propagation of Bambusa nutans Wall. ex Munro through axillary shoot proliferation

Negi, Divya,Saxena, Sanjay The Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology 2011 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.5 No.1

This communication describes for the first time an efficient and reproducible protocol for large-scale multiplication of Bambusa nutans. Nodal segments collected from field-grown clumps and cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with $4.4{\mu}M$ benzylaminopurine (BA) and $2.32{\mu}M$ kinetin (Kin) gelled with 0.2% gelrite yielded 80% aseptic cultures with 100% bud-break. The in vitro-formed shoots obtained after bud-break were successfully multiplied in MS liquid medium supplemented with $13.2{\mu}M$ BA, $2.32{\mu}M$ Kin, and $0.98{\mu}M$ indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Sub-culturing of shoots every 3 weeks on fresh multiplication medium yielded a consistent proliferation rate of 3.5-fold. Shoot clusters containing three to five shoots were successfully rooted with 100% success on half-strength MS liquid medium supplemented with $9.8{\mu}M$ IBA, $2.85{\mu}M$ indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), $2.68{\mu}M$ naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), and 3% sucrose. Plantlets grown in vitro were acclimatized and subsequently transferred to the field. Inter-simple sequence repeat analysis has confirmed the genetic uniformity of the tissue-cultured plants up to 27 passages.

      • Three Weekly Versus Weekly Cisplatin as Radiosensitizer in Head and Neck Cancer: a Decision Dilemma

Negi, Preety,Kingsley, Pamela Alice,Srivastava, Himanshu,Sharma, Surender Kumar Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.4

Cisplatin-based concurrent chemoradiation plays an undisputed key role as definitive treatment in unresectable patients with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma head and neck or as an organ preservation strategy. Treatment with 100 mg/m2 3-weekly cisplatin is considered the standard of care but is often associated with several adverse events. The optimum drug schedule of administration remains to be defined and presently, there is insufficient data limiting conclusions about the relative tolerability of one regimen over the other. This review addresses regarding the optimal dose schedule of cisplatin focusing mainly on three-weekly and weekly dose of cisplatin based concurrent chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced head and neck cancer with an emphasis on mucositis, dermatitis, systemic toxicity, compliance, and treatment interruptions. To derive a definitive conclusion, large prospective randomized trials are needed directly comparing standard 3-weekly cisplatin ($100mg/m^2$) with weekly schedule ($30-40mg/m^2$) of concurrent cisplatin based chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma head and neck.

      • Magnetic Behaviour of Granular GdMnO3 Film

        Negi, P.,Agrawal, H. M.,Singh, J. P.,Kumar, H.,Srivastava, R. C.,Asokan, K.,Chae, K. H. Springer Science + Business Media 2017 Journal of superconductivity and novel magnetism Vol.30 No.6

The present study deals with the investigation of magnetic properties along with morphological and microstructure analyses of a multiferroic GdMnO3 film fabricated on Si(100) substrate by the pulsed laser deposition technique. Rutherford backscattering spectroscopic analysis suggests that the film is fabricated in the form of diffused layers having different stoichiometric proportions. Raman spectroscopy signifies that few modes present in the film are associated with MnO6 octahedra and some extra peaks indicating the mixed phase formation in tuning with the Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy. Atomic force microscopy confirms the granular nature of the film. Field-cooled and zero-field-cooled thermal magnetization curves show irreversible behaviour extending well above room temperature, which is associated with spin disorder. The presence of Gd+3 state and Mn+3/Mn+4 mixed states in the uppermost layers of the film was confirmed by near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure. Subsequently, in association with these observations, the film is a weak ferromagnetic at 5 K and even at room temperature.

      • Network Security in Embedded System Using TLS

        Vivek Negi,Himanshu Verma,Ipsita Singh,Aditya Vikram,Kanika Malik,Archana Singh,Gaurav Verma 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.2

Security in terms of Networks have turn out to be more significant to Organizations, Military and personal computer user’s. Since various kinds of threats are for data from sending it from sender side over internet till it reaches to receiver. Here we will focus on SSL it is a technique used to give client and server authentication, data confidentiality and data integrity. It transform our data into unintelligible form, data which we will be sending can be text or no text form, by encrypting our data we can save it from attacks like eavesdropping, in which interception of communication by unauthorized person, he can either listen or can add malicious information in our data which can lead to catastrophic results. This technique of secure data transmission is very useful in securing the integrity of data sent by the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in military application to commercially used Electricity meter. Since the above mentioned devices uses microcontroller to send data through internet hence this data is always going to be susceptible to above mentioned threats so it is important to ensure that it doesn’t fall in wrong hands, our objective is that our microcontroller sends the data to remote location has authenticity, confidentiality and integrity. First we will send some meaningful text already stored in controller of STM3240G Eval-board then that data will be sent to server. These encrypted packets will be sending to remote server through Ethernet. At the receiver end this data will be received and decrypted to get the original captured data.

In vitro xylem vessel elements formation from banana embryogenic cells and expression analysis of vessel development-related genes

        Sanjana Negi,Himanshu Tak,T. R. Ganapathi 한국식물생명공학회 2015 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.9 No.2

Tracheary elements formation was observed in banana embryogenic cells cultured in brassinolide-supplemented medium after a period of 10 days. The highest frequency of tracheary elements observed after 10 days was up to 31.88 %. The auxin, 2,4-D was found to be inhibitor of tracheary elements formation in brassinolidesupplemented medium and at a concentration of 1.5 lM of 2,4-D, the frequency of tracheary elements formation was reduced to zero. The appearance of secondary wall in these xylem vessel elements was observed by toluidine blue staining and lignin autofluorescence under fluorescence as well as laser confocal microscopy. Similar to lignin autofluorescence imaging, the calcofluor white staining also revealed development of characteristic secondary wall in these xylem vessel elements indicating deposition of cellulose along with lignin during secondary wall formation. The xylem vessel elements induced comprised of fiber-like elements (FLEs) and tracheary elements with deposition of secondary wall. Expression analysis of lignin biosynthesis pathway genes indicated that important genes like CCR, CCoAOMT and COMT were induced as early as fifth day of brassinolide (BL) treatment. Changes in transcript level of key master regulators of xylogenesis during tracheary elements formation showed that expression of vascularrelated NAC domain containing transcription factors (VND) were up-regulated with induction of VND1–3 and VND6–7 expression as early as third day of brassinolide treatment. This study of in vitro tracheary elements formation in embryogenic cell suspension cultures is useful in understanding the genes involved in secondary wall thickening in banana.

Assessment of cellulose substituted with varying short/long, linear/ branched acyl groups for inhibition of wax crystals growth in crude oil

Himani Negi,Sundram Sharma,Raj K. Singh 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.104 No.-

The deposition of paraffin on the pipeline surface during crude oil transportation is a significant issue foroil industries. In this regard, the demand for adequate methods of wax deposition has gained considerableattention. In the current work, five cellulose esters were synthesized with varied chain short/longand linear/branched in a homogeneous medium and characterized by various analytical techniques. The ability of all cellulose esters to change wax crystal’s structure and pour-point and yield stress reductionwas observed by cross-polarized microscope, pour-point measurement, differential scanningcalorimetry, and rheology. It was noticed that the paraffin crystallization temperature and pour-pointhad decreased significantly with long/linear side chain esters. The efficiency to reduce yield stress wasfound to correlate with the nature of the side chain. Long/linear side chain esters with 0.3 wt% are moreeffective in stabilizing the paraffin/asphaltene gel formation, thereby improving the flowability of waxyoil. The computational calculations also support all the findings at a molecular level.
