To date, pulmonary fibrosis remains an unmet medical need. In this study, we evaluated the potency of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) secretome components to prevent pulmonary fibrosis development and facilitate fibrosis resolution. Surprisingly, the intratracheal application of extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) or the vesicle-depleted secretome fraction (MSC-SF) was not able to prevent lung fibrosis when applied immediately after the injury caused by bleomycin instillation in mice. However, MSC-EV administration induced the resolution of established pulmonary fibrosis, whereas the vesicle-depleted fraction did not. The application of MSC-EVs caused a decrease in the numbers of myofibroblasts and FAPa+ progenitors without affecting their apoptosis. Such a decrease likely occurred due to their dedifferentiation caused by microRNA (miR) transfer by MSC-EVs. Using a murine model of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis, we confirmed the contribution of specific miRs (miR-29c and miR-129) to the antifibrotic effect of MSC-EVs. Our study provides novel insights into possible antifibrotic therapy based on the use of the vesicle-enriched fraction of the MSC secretome.

Review of main approaches of gas consumption prognosis and analysis models is given here. Most of them are long-term prognosis methods, which take into account some weather conditions (mostly temperature as most significant one), few short-term methods works only for non-heating period. Unlike the existing methods, new approach gives a possibility to analyze and calculate prognosis values of gas consumption in heating season taking into consideration its cyclic nature and temperature of environment at the same time. It helps to monitor, analyze, plan and manage loading of gas system during the day.
Spectroscopic ellipsometry study of Ir(ppy)3 organic light emitting diode

We studied the optical properties offactris(2-phenylpyridine) iridium (Ir(ppy)3) emitting layer in single-layer organic light emit-ting diode (OLED) device and in thin lm grown on quartz plate using a phase modulated spectroscopic ellipsometry (PMSE).Accurate spectra of refractive indexn and extinction coecientk of Ir(ppy)3 were obtained in the wavelength range of 330830 nm in the device and lm. Dierence was observed in then and k spectra between the single layer thin lm evaporated on quartzplate and OLED. Additionally dierence was found between the layer thickness estimated by quartz oscillator and thickness esti-mated from the PMSE measurement.
T'aengniji by Yi Chunghwan (1690–1756?): Land and Politics

This article examines T'aengniji (1751) by Yi Chunghwan (1690–1756?) in three different historical periods: late Chosǒn, the beginning of the 1910s, and the 1970s. These three stages were selected to compare how changes in Korean politics were reflected in the understanding of the book and in the understanding of the idea of sojunghwa 小中華, or Korea as “Little China,” in particular. These stages also depict the popularization of T'aengniji from its completion by Yi Chunghwan in manuscript form to its printing by Ch'oe Namsǒn (1890–1957) in 1912 and the first translations into Korean during Pak Chǒnghŭi's presidency (1963–79). A comparison of different T'aengniji manuscripts with the printed version by Ch'oe Namsǒn shows that the devotion to the Ming dynasty emphasized by Yi Chunghwan vanished in the beginning of the twentieth century under the pressure of the strong influence of social Darwinist ideas. The version by Ch'oe Namsǒn was used for the first translations from hanmun (Literary Sinitic) into modern Korean, thus changing the original meaning of many phrases. On the other hand, a Korea-centered T'aengniji that emphasized the importance of Korean history, geography, and culture contributed to the building of modern Korean ethnicity. Analysis of the same description of Mount Paektu in Yi Chunghwan's T'aengniji and Ch'oe Namsǒn's T'aengniji shows how one piece of information was read differently by different readers. Depending on the historical period when the book was read and the dominant political course of the time, the Korean Peninsula depicted in T'aengniji was either Confucian and sadae compliant or prosperous, strong, and autonomous.

The available literary data on the methods of obtaining, structure, sorption properties and functionalcharacteristics of porous silicon carbide were analyzed and summarized. The features and prospects ofusing of porous silicon carbide in catalysis, adsorption, electrochemistry etc. were shown. Some generalcomments about the state and possible directions of development of the researches in the area ofphysical chemistry of porous silicon carbide were presented.
