        기흉으로 사망한 폐 림프관평활근종증 : 1부 검례

        Pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis is a rare disease which is defined as an abnormal proliferation of smooth muscles around lymphatics, venules, and bronchioles. The most frequent presenting complaint is dyspnea, either in conjuction with pneumothorax, chylothorax, or on exertion. Common extrapulmonary features are retroperitoneal adenopathy, tuberous sclerosis and renal angiomyolipomas. This case was a 34-year-old pregnant woman who died of pneumothorax. She had no past history of illness. At autopsy, both lungs showed honey-comb appearance, and was proven histopathologically pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis. The proliferating smooth muscles were immunoreactive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and HMB-45. Multiple angiomyolipomas of left kidney coexisted. However, no stigmata of tuberous sclerosis was present. Pregnancy was thought to aggravate her clinical course.

        In this study, we can be obtained the following conclusions about the characteristics of leachate with waste compositions and landfill methods. pH shows a tendency to increase in E. landfill, because NH₃ is created by anaerobic degradation and dissolved in leachate. The concentrations of BOD and COD become different, In case of E. landfill, food of combustible is H. & S. landfill and then SS is high in concentration. According to passed time, T-N is high in concentration, but T-P shows a similar tendency. Heavy metals of leachate is lower than threshold concentrations. If leachate is treated biologically, microbes are not inibitory.

        To examine the agricultural availability of paper sludge, this study investigated the degradation rate of sludge, CO₂ generation out of soil treated with sludge and the degration characteristics of sludge in soil 1. Degradation rate of paper in soil at weeks after treatment was 19.0% at natural temperature and 28.0% at incubation temperature(30℃) 2. The changes of T-C, T-N and C/N ratio of paper sludge in soil at 12 weeks after treatment were 15.5%, 0.22% and 71, respectively, at natural temperature, and 14.5%, 0.24% and 60, respectively at incubation temperature. 3. The changes of pH in soil treated with paper were 6.7∼7.4 at natural temperature and 6.1∼8.0 at incubation temperature. 4. CO₂ generations in soil treated with 1.0%, 3.0% and 5.0% of paper sludge at 12weeks after treatment were 247mg/100g, 334mg/100g and 458mg/100g, respectively, at natural temperature and 385mg/100g, 550mg/100g and 618mg/100g, respectively, at incubation temperature(30℃)

      • 好氣性 固定床 生物膜 反應槽의 메디아로 폐칫솔의 利用可能性 檢討에 관한 基礎硏究 : 처리효율을 중심으로

        This study was conducted to evaluate the possibility to apply the waste toothbrush to aerobic fixed biofilm reactor for media. The media used for this research was waste toothbrush (WTB) and Pall-Ring. The feed used for this research was synthetic wastewater which was made at the laboratory. The COD, NH₄^(+)- N and PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency variations with the organic loading rate was examined at this research. The conclusions drawn from these experiments are listed below : 1. When the influent COD concentration was respectively 300mg/ℓ, 600mg/ℓ, the COD removal efficiency was decreased with the increase of the organic loading rate and the COD removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was higher than the COD removal efficiency was 0.4~1.9%. 2. When the influent NH₄^(+)-N concentration was respectively 13mg/ℓ (COD 300mg/ℓ), 25mg/ℓ (COD 600mg/ℓ ), the NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was slightly higher than the NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency for Wastetooth brush. The difference of NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency was about 0.5~1.5%. 3. When the influent PO₄^(-3)-P concentration was respectively 7mg/ℓ (COD 300mg/ℓ), 14mg/ℓ (COD 600mg/ℓ ), the PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was higher than the PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency for Wastetooth brush. The difference of PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency was about 1.1~2%. 4. COD, NH₄^(+)-N and PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiencies show very small difference between Pall-Ring and Wastetooth brush as media. So it was showed that wastetooth brush can be used as media very successfully.

        In this study, we can be obtained the following conclusions about the present environmental conditons and the post management of the expired landfill. 1. The component ration in paper, vinyl·plastic and leather·rubber of combustible amounts to much more than others. In the future, decompositions will be delayed considerably, due to these. 2. Except heavy metals in leachate, each of analysis value change considerably, but are equal to the component of general leachate. 3. The soils of lower part in landfill do not differ greatly from surrouding soils. soil pollutions with heavy metals in general domestic waste proved to be concerned greatly. 4. All of landfill facilites are poor in enviromental, and the post management is rearly controlled, so the proper countmeasure preparation is urgent.

      • 매립지 환경조건을 고려한 중금속 용출시험의 재평가

        This study was to understand leaching characteristics with pH controlling agents and Temp. control, and investigate leaching characteristics with pH control from opening a leaching test to an end for reassessing leaching test of heavy metals with enviromental conditions in landfill. The results were as followed ; 1. Because leaching of heavy metals was increased in low pH, pH must control for leaching in existing leaching test. 2. Generally, regulation time(6hr) of leaching was confirmed reasonablely, except for Cu in plating sludge. 3. In pH controlling solution, there was nearly not difference between Acetic acid and HCl, and if considering Cu, the former was appropriate. 4. In a part of heavy metal, leaching rate was increased in high Temp, and normal Temp, in existing leaching test would be revaluated.

        식물류 혼합물과 마늘의 복합 조성이 고콜레스테롤혈증 흰쥐의 혈청 지질에 미치는 영향

        식물류 혼합물 1%와 0.3, 0.5% 및 0.7%의 마늘 추출물을 고콜레스테롤혈증 유발 흰쥐에 4주간 실험 급이한 후 혈액 내 지질성분에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 마늘 추출물의 첨가농도를 0.3~0.7%로 달리하였을 때 총 식이 섭취량은 정상군에 비해 실험군에서 유의적으로 높았으나 실험군 간에는 차이가 없었다. 총 콜레스테롤은 식물류 혼합물 및 마늘 추출물을 급이함으로써 대조군에 비해 약 20%, 중성지방은 9.3~15.0% 정도 감소되었으며, 인지질도 유사한 경향이었다. HDL-콜레스테롤은 대조군과 실험군간의 유의차가 없었으며, LDL-콜레스테롤은 정상군에 비해 대조군에서 9.4배 더 높았는데, 마늘 추출물을 0.5% 및 0.7% 첨가 급이할 경우 각각 68.45±12.83㎎/㎗ 및 66.35±5.18 ㎎/㎗로 유의적으로 감소하였다. VLDL-콜레스테롤은 마늘 추출물을 0.5% 이상 첨가 급이 할 경우 정상군과 동일한 수준까지 저하되었다. 동맥경화 지수 및 심혈관질환 위험지수도 식물류 혼합물과 마늘추출물의 급이군에서 유의적으로 낮았다. 혈당은 마늘 추출물 0.5% 첨가군에서 189.37±12.02 ㎎/㎗로 가장 낮았고, 총 단백질 함량은 식물류 혼합물과 마늘 추출물 급이시 9.56±0.87~10.05±2.69 ㎎/㎗로 정상군에 비해 유의적으로 증가되었다. GOT 활성은 마늘추출물의 0.3% 첨가군에서 81.86±11.73 u/㎖로 대조군에 비해 유의적인 감소를 보였고, GPT 활성은 식물류 혼합물 및 마늘 추출물 급이군과 대조군간에 유의차가 없었다. TBARS 함량은 마늘 추출물을 0.7%로 급이한 군에서 정상군보다 낮은 함량이었다. 혈청의 항산화 활성도 마늘 추출물의 0.7% 급이군에서 83.75±2.32%로 대조군에 비해 항산화 활성이 유의적으로 높았다. This study was designed to investigate the effects of 4 kinds of plant water extract mixture and garlic extract (PMG) administration on serum lipid metabolism in hypercholestrolemic rats. The normal group was administered a cholesterol free diet, the control group a 1% cholesterol diet, and each experimental group was given a diet of 1% cholesterol, 1% plant mixture and 0.3, 0.5, 0.7% garlic extract (PMG-Ⅰ, PMG-Ⅱ, PMG-Ⅲ), respectively. Each diet was administered orally to SD-male rats for 4 weeks. Total cholesterol content decreased by about 20% with administration of PMG. Triglyceride content also decreased from 9.3 to 15.0% compared to the control group, and phospholipid was similar to triglyceride. There was no significant difference in HDL-cholesterol content between the control and experimental groups. LDL-cholesterol content of the normal group was 9.4 times lower than the control group and its content was significantly lower in the PMG-Ⅱ (68.45±12.83 ㎎/㎗) and PMG-Ⅲ (66.35±5.18 ㎎/㎗) groups than the PMG-Ⅰ group. VLDL-cholesterol content of the PMG-Ⅱ and Ⅲ groups were similar to the normal group. Atherogenic index (AI) and cardiac risk factor (CRF) were significantly lower in the PMG group. Blood glucose content was the lowest in the PMG-Ⅱ (189.37±12.02 ㎎/㎗) group among all groups tested. Total protein content was 9.56±0.87~10.05±2.69 mg/dl in the PMG-Ⅰ~Ⅲ groups and was significantly higher than the normal group. GPT activity did not show a significant difference among the experimental groups, while GOT activity was effective only in the PMG-Ⅰ group. Serum TBARS content in the PMG-Ⅲ group was lower than in the normal group. Serum antioxidant activity by DPPH radical scavenging was 83.75±2.32% in the PMG-Ⅲ group, which was significantly higher than the control group.

        The Putative Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor RicA Mediates Upstream Signaling for Growth and Development in Aspergillus

        <B>ABSTRACT</B><P> Heterotrimeric G proteins (G proteins) govern growth, development, and secondary metabolism in various fungi. Here, we characterized <I>ricA</I> , which encodes a putative GDP/GTP exchange factor for G proteins in the model fungus Aspergillus nidulans and the opportunistic human pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus . In both species, <I>ricA</I> mRNA accumulates during vegetative growth and early developmental phases, but it is not present in spores. The deletion of <I>ricA</I> results in severely impaired colony growth and the total (for A. nidulans ) or near (for A. fumigatus ) absence of asexual sporulation (conidiation). The overexpression (OE) of the <I>A. fumigatus ricA</I> gene (Af <I>ricA</I> ) restores growth and conidiation in the ΔAn <I>ricA</I> mutant to some extent, indicating partial conservation of RicA function in Aspergillus . A series of double mutant analyses revealed that the removal of RgsA (an RGS protein of the GanB Gα subunit), but not <I>sfgA</I> , <I>flbA</I> , <I>rgsB</I> , or <I>rgsC</I> , restored vegetative growth and conidiation in ΔAn <I>ricA</I> . Furthermore, we found that RicA can physically interact with GanB in yeast and <I>in vitro</I> . Moreover, the presence of two copies or OE of <I>pkaA</I> suppresses the profound defects caused by ΔAn <I>ricA</I> , indicating that RicA-mediated growth and developmental signaling is primarily through GanB and PkaA in A. nidulans . Despite the lack of conidiation, <I>brlA</I> and <I>vosA</I> mRNAs accumulated to normal levels in the Δ <I>ricA</I> mutant. In addition, mutants overexpressing <I>fluG</I> or <I>brlA</I> (OE <I>fluG</I> or OE <I>brlA</I> ) failed to restore development in the ΔAn <I>ricA</I> mutant. These findings suggest that the commencement of asexual development requires unknown RicA-mediated signaling input in A. nidulans . </P>
