Multiple shoot induction and plant regeneration using apical bud and nodal explants of 100 year old tree of Anthocephalus cadamba, an important sacred and medicinal tree in India was achieved for the first time. Aseptic explants cultured in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium augmented with different concentrations of BAP (0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 and 10 mg/l), when maintained for 60 days, healthy shoots were induced in presence of BAP (1 mg/l). Lower concentrations of BAP (0.1 - 0.5 mg/l) induced only one shoot per explant. Increase in number of shoots per explant was observed in presence of higher concentrations of BAP (2.5, 5.0 and 10 mg/l). However, elongation of shoots was completely inhibited. Bud break and shoot regeneration was largely associated with seasonal factors. Apical buds cultured during June to August exhibited early bud break within two weeks of initial culture. In rest of the months, bud break and shoot regeneration was very slow irrespective of the various concentrations of BAP used in the medium. Explants sourced from three different maturity levels of shoots indicated that actively growing shoots from the mother plant with 1 - 2 nodal segments was more suitable for culture initiation than the explants collected from mature shoots at dormant stage. Regenerated shoots with 2 - 3 pairs of leaves when transferred to half strength MS medium fortified with IBA (1 mg/l), 60% of the shoots induced healthy roots, indicating the possibility of large scale micropropagation.

The present study focuses on overcoming the drawback as fouling in a membrane bioreactor (MBR), which can be alleviated by integrating advanced oxidation process, adsorption, and biofilm carriers in the activated sludge process. The optimal sludge retention time, carbon and ozone dosage was 150 minutes, 15 g and 1.5 Lmin−1, respectively. The percentage removal was observed to be above 90% for chemical oxygen demand and total organic carbon whereas for total dissolved solids was only 40% under transmembrane pressure of 20 kPa. The increase in permeate flux was 30% as compared to MBR. Sequential batch membrane bioreactor (SBMBR) showed 12% reduction in energy consumption for three hour operation at the flow rate of 0.72 L/h (transmembrane pressure 20 kPa), and it was confirmed in the SEM of carbon, membrane, UV, CV and HPLC also. The energy consumption required also confirms the less internal fouling via the extended backwash of four hours.

The aim of this paper is to propose a device to safeguard the female child from sexual violence by continuous monitoring. In today's scenario, human-bound communication plays a significant role in monitoring applications. One such application is a wearable sensor. This paper aims to design a nanocomposite wearable sensor to protect female against sexual harassment. The wearable sensor is manufactured by compressible metal foams. A conducting polymer solution is prepared by mixing the non-conducting polymer with synthesized metallic nanoparticles such as Zinc Sulphide, Zinc Oxide and Copper Oxide nanoparticles. Smart foam is converted into conducting type by dipping the foam into the conducting polymer solution. Nanoparticles are impregnated into the foam to create electrical conductivity. In this way, the compression sensor is fabricated. The compressed foam with filled nanoparticles will be preserved as a novel decorative element in women's hairclips. This sensor is well disguised and cannot be seen by outsiders because it is portrayed merely as a cosmetic women's hairclip. This hairclip will act as a compression sensor. In recent years, women have attained significant heights in work, sports, positions, etc., and have conquered the world and still are conquering various fields of life. Women have outcasted men standing on their own feet and provided the freedom from society, respective families and spouses to achieve their dreams and ambitions. Though they have come a long way in breaking off from various constraints, their vulnerability and the peril of being prone to or a victim of sexual harassment still haven't been eradicated by the world. Surveys show that rapes and the entailing deaths have increased by 1700 percent from the past decades only in India. Provided the circumstance, it is highly essential to safeguard from the hounding men. Thus, if someone tries invading a woman for their sexual desires or feels stranded by miscreants, she may press the hairclip. The hairclip will automatically function as a compression sensor if she is forcefully grabbed by the hair or knocked over. The signal is transmitted during the compression of the clip, and her parents/guardians will receive a message about their female child's location. This provides a chance to rescue her immediately. This device does not require a mobile phone or any application for the victim to ensure their safety. The device is designed to be lightweight and easy to carry since it is a conveniently wearable product. The idea behind this wearable device is to constantly monitor the female child to protect her from a devastating sexual assault.

Induction motor is used for different applications in industries such as grinding, milling, mining and automation. Induction motor performance degrades over time due to continuous operation, over load, transient unbalanced supply voltage and current. Hence, induction motor performance and efficiency are evaluated through measurement of motor torque. The torque measurement using various sensors such as acoustic, mems-vibration, strain gauge, in line sensors, never provides the inaccurate results due to contact type sensors and improper mounting of sensor on the motor. Moreover, existing methods never provides inaccurate torque measurement for different types of motor duty cycle such as continuous duty, intermittent periodic duties, short-time duty and continuous operation with intermittent load. In this paper, novel non-contact method measures torque with Dual-function ultra-wide band (UWB) (DFR) Radar sensor. DFR acquires polarized signal reflected from air gap of motor magnetic flux. Moreover, air gap magnetic flux radiation through motor ventilator is directly proportional to motor torque. In this paper, motor torque is measured through air gap magnetic flux radiation and DFR sensor. The electromagnetic waves from DFR is reflected by the air gap magnetic flux emitted from motor and the reflected waves are polarized. The reflected DFR sensor signal from air gap magnetic flux has high polarity charge and resonance. From received polarized signal, Instantaneous Frequency (IF) is obtained through Multi-Synchro Squeezing Transform (MSST) algorithm. The motor torque is measured with IF and Gaussian regression algorithm. Torque spikes in Induction motor is analyzed during frequent change in heavy, low load, and induced transient Torque prediction through MSST IF frequency and Gaussian Regression is compared with Torque predicted through different transform such as Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT), Dyadic Wavelet Transform (DyWT). The MSST based torque measurement provides 96% of accuracy, when compared with traditional strain gauge torque measuring instrument. Initial review.

Die casting is the process for manufacturing the metal parts with desired shape for various industrial applications. Casting Process depends on many parameters variation such as die temperature, moisture level and viscosity of liquid level. At present days all the process parameters in die casting industry are measured manually. Manual measurement leads to error in measurement also time consuming. To overcome this issue non-contact type temperature measurement device is used for die temperature measurement but moisture and viscosity of the die is measured manually. Because die temperature is very sensitive one in die casting process. The proposed system is partially automated with PIC microcontroller and monitoring of the process is done through LabVIEW software.
