Electric field assembled anisotropic alumina composite for thermal dissipation applications

<P>A composite material with anisotropic microstructure was fabricated by DC electric field. Alumina was used as filler for thermal conductivity and polysiloxane resin was used as matrix. According to the alumina morphology and loading amount, various anisotropic microstructures were assembled. The thermal properties of the composite material were investigated parallel to the direction of the applied electric field accordingly. For plate-like alumina with 20 vol% loading, a thermal conductivity of 0.44 W/mK was achieved. With spherically shaped alumina, with an equal loading of 20 vol%, a higher thermal conductivity of 0.46 W/mK was achieved. The increase in the thermal conductivity of the fabricated alumina composites with anisotropic microstructure was attributed to increased filler-to-filler connectivity.</P>

전동차의 소비전력(Energy Consumption)은 유지보수 비용 절감 및 온실가스 배출 규제 대응을 위한 중요한 요인으로 본 연구에서는 전동차의 주요 전력 소모 장치인 추진 제어장치의 소비전력에 영향을 미치는 중량, 효율, 주행저항, 구배저항, 곡선저항, 출발저항 및 관성질량 등의 요인을 TPS(모의 주행 시뮬레이션) 및 성능 계산을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 차량의 주요 장치와 서비스 기기에 전원을 공급하는 보조전원장치의 부하 별 소비전력을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 소비전력 영향 요인 및 전력 사용량 예측 방안을 도출하였으며 주요장치의 용량 최적화 자료로 활용하고자 한다. Energy efficiency is a key factor for the EMU trains reasons of cost effectiveness and environmental competition. In this study, affecting factors to energy consumption for EMU trains such as train weight, efficiency, running resistance, gradient resistance, curve resistance, starting resistance and inertia mass are analyzed with TPS(Train Performance Simulation) and performance calculation. And energy consumption of each load for APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) which is fed the power to the major equipment and service equipment is analyzed. Based on the results of this analysis, energy saving strategy and prediction method of energy consumption were derived and it will be applied to the capacity optimization of APU.

This research focused on the isolation and characterization of the new strains which can be used as microbial resources for auxin production in the agriculture industry. For the isolation of the new microorganism in the gut of Larimichthys polyactis, a marine agar medium was used and 3 colonies were isolated. Through the 16S-based ID service, isolated strains were identified as 1 strain of Niallia circulans and 3 strains of Proteus mirabilis. Verifying the agriculture industrial values of these isolated strains, the productivity of auxin and activity of various enzymes such as amylase, lipase, and protease were confirmed. As a result, isolated 3 strains showed auxin activity and only protease activities which means the possibility of applying them to the production of effective microorganisms in the agriculture industry.

Saponins of fresh ginseng roots were purified by repeated silicic acid column and thin-layer chromatographies from butanolextractable fraction of the roots. Surface activities of the purified saponins were characterized by measuring surface tensions of their aqueous solutions employing capillary-rise method. It was observed that surface tension cf water was lowered down to ca. 50 erg/㎠ at room temperature by these saponins and reached almost minima at the concentrations ranging from 0.05 to 0.2% saponins. Critical micellar concentrations approximated from the reflection points on the surface tension curves were 0.05, 0.05, 0.2, and 0.2% respectively, which correspond to 0.5, 0.5, 2 and 2mM if the molecular weights of the saponins were assumed to be 1,000. It was also proved that butanol-extractable fraction obtained from fresh ginseng in this study could be served as a desirable saponin mixture with little impurities and as a good source for saponin purifications. Fresh ginseng roots were found to contain four major saponins in their butanol extract.

There have been a lot of efforts to keep permissible emission standards and to reduce the amount of emitted air pollutants. There are several air pollution control equipments, however, wet scrubber is used to remove particulate matters and gaseous pollutants simultaneously, even if it has low collection efficiency in the particle size less than $5.0{\mu}m$. To overcome this problem, we introduced a spray tower scrubber with an electrospray system which a high voltage was indirectly applied. We found that collection efficiency of fine particles in the electrospray system was improved by increasing electrical field strength and the ratio of liquid-gas flow rate (from 41% to 84% for $0.3{\mu}m$ particles). In addition, a number of small droplets generated from an electrospray system led high collection efficiency, resulting from electrostatic attraction between droplets and particles and higher collision frequency. Therefore, we can conclude that the introduction of an electrospray system is quite effective to increase the particle removal efficiency of a spray tower scrubber.

한국산 수삼의 부탄올 가용성 분획으로부터 규산을 흡착제로 사용한 column 및 thin-layer 크로마토그라피에 의하여 4종의 주성분 사포닌을 분리정제하고 모세관상승법으로 그들 수용액의 표면장력을 측정함으로써 그들의 계면활성의 면모를 평가하였다. 물의 표면장력은 이들 정세사포닌에 의하여 실온에서 약 50 erg/$cm^2$까지 내려가며, 사포닌의 종류에 따라 0.05 내지 0.2%에서 최소치를 기록하였다. 임계미셀농도는 농도-표면장력 곡선의 꺾임점으로부터 추정하였는데, 각각 0.05, 0.05, 0.2 및 0.2% 이었다. 이 값은 사포닌의 분자량을 1,000으로 보았을 때 0.5, 0.5, 2 및 2mM에 해당한다. 상기한 부탄올 가용성 분획은 사포닌 외의 물질이 거의 함유되지 아니하여 총사포닌 분획으로서 바람직하며, 개개의 사포닌을 정제함에 유용한 것으로 사료된다.
