We prepared dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with enhanced energy conversion efficiency using open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays with a $TiO_2$ scattering layer. As compared to closed-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays, the energy conversion efficiency of the open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays was increased from 5.63% to 5.92%, which is an enhancement of 5.15%. With the $TiO_2$ scattering layer, the energy conversion efficiency was increased from 5.92% to 6.53%, which is an enhancement of 10.30%. After treating the open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays with $TiCl_4$, the energy conversion efficiency was increased from 6.53% to 6.89%, a 5.51% enhancement, which is attributed to improved light harvesting and increased dye adsorption.

In this paper, phase noise analysis result for 2.4 GHz PLL(phase locked loop) using SPD(sample phase detector) is proposed. It can be used for high performance frequency synthesizer's LO(local oscillator) to extend output frequency range or for LO of offset PLL to reduce a division rate or for clock signal of DDS(direct digital synthesizer). Before manufacturing, theoretical estimation of PLL's phase noise performance should be performed. In order to calculate phase noise of PLL using SPD, Leeson model is used for modeling phase noise of VCO(voltage controlled oscillator) and OCXO(ovened crystal oscillator). After theoretically analyzing phase noise of PLL, optimized loop filter bandwidth was determined. And then, phase noise of designed loop filter was calculated to find suitable OP-Amp. Also, the calculated result of phase noise was compared with the measured one. The measured phase noise of PLL was -130 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz.

Carcinogenicity of asbestos has been well established for decades and it has similar approval standards in most advanced countries based on a number of studies and international meetings. However, Korea has been lagging behind such international standards. In this study, we proposed the approval standards of an occupational cancer due to asbestos through intensive review on the Helsinki Criteria, post-Helsinki studies, job exposure matrix (JEM) based on the analysis of domestic reports and recognized occupational lung cancer cases in Korea. The main contents of proposed approval standards are as follows; ① In recognizing an asbestos-induced lung cancer, diagnosis of asbestosis should be based on CT. In addition, initial findings of asbestosis on CT should be considered. ② High Exposure industries and occupations to asbestos should be also taken into account in Korea ③ An expert’s determination is warranted in case of a worker who has been concurrently exposed to other carcinogens, even if the asbestos exposure duration is less than 10 years. ④ Determination of a larynx cancer due to asbestos exposure has the same approval standards with an asbestos-induced lung cancer. However, for an ovarian cancer, an expert’s judgment is necessary even if asbestosis, pleural plaque or pleural thickening and high concentration asbestos exposure are confirmed. ⑤ Cigarette smoking status or the extent should not affect determination of an occupational cancer caused by asbestos as smoking and asbestos have a synergistic effect in causing a lung cancer and they are involved in carcinogenesis in a complicated manner.

Concrete in a R.C column has enhanced strength and ductility because it is confined by transverse reinforcements. But R.C columns are designed based on linear analyses by stress block method without the confining effect or the nonlinearity of the concrete. These make the significantly difference between the analysis results and the experimental results. And also ICH R.C column(Internally Confined Hollow R.C column), a new-typed column, has enhanced moment capacity and axial strength by a settled steel tube when it is compared with a hollow R.C column. Thus in this study, nonlinear P-M interaction models for a general R.C column and an ICH R.C column were developed considering the confining effect on the concrete in a column. With the developed model, parametric studies were performed and the developed column models showed reasonable and accurate results.
