Intention to Adopt Cloud Accounting: A Conceptual Model from Indonesian MSMEs Perspectives

HAMUNDU, Ferdinand Murni,HUSIN, Mohd Heikal,BAHARUDIN, Ahmad Suhaimi,KHALEEL, Muhammad Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.12

Over the years, numerous Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been vigorously established across many countries. Even though the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled companies to anchorage business returns, most Indonesian MSMEs are highly susceptible to failure and one of the main issues is the inability to manage their financials effectively. The literature on accounting points out that the success of MSMEs owing to the usage of cloud-based Accounting Information Systems (AIS) or Cloud Accounting (CA) could reduce the rate of failure by managing multiple accounting information at a low cost. Although many benefits exist, Indonesian MSMEs are not adopting these platforms in their daily business activities. This study investigates the factors that influence Indonesian MSMEs' intention to adopt CA. The study is directed by unstructured in-depth interviews with seven bestseller MSMEs where a thematic analysis technique was employed to identify them. The interview findings and prevailing literature on the influencing factors based on the TOE (technological, organizational, and environmental) framework to adopt CA in Indonesian MSMEs context are perceived benefits outweighing the cost, perceived compatibility, perceived complexity, owner-manager knowledge on accounting, organization size, competitive pressure, and informal network. The conceptual model further includes government intervention as a moderator in the model.

Strategies in fed-batch cultivation on the production performance of Lactobacillus salivarius I 24 viable cells

Ming, Lim Chi,Halim, Murni,Rahim, Raha Abd,Wan, Ho Yin,Ariff, Arbakariya Bin 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.5

The potential use of fed-batch cultivation (FBC) for improvement of the production of Lactobacillus salivarius I 24 biomass for subsequent use as probiotics was studied using a 2-L stirredtank bioreactor. Three different constant feeding rates (0.1, 0.05, and 0.033 L/h) were applied in FBCs and their effect on carbon metabolism was evaluated. The carbon flux for cell built-up with reduction in lactic acid synthesis was observed in the fed-batch as compared to the batch cultivation mode. The viable cell number obtained in the constant FBC (CFBC) operated at a feeding rate of 0.05 L/h was 8 times higher ($10.7{\times}10^{10}CFU/mL$) than that recorded in the batch cultivation. This gave the viable cell yield based on glucose consumed for CFBC of 26 times higher ($11.3{\times}10^{12}CFU/g_{Glucose}$) than the batch cultivation. This study demonstrated CFBC, which is simple with minimal use of process control equipment, has an industrial potential for improvement of probiotic production.

Fabrication of high purity silica precipitates from quartz sand toward photovoltaic application

        Agus Budi Prasetyo,Murni Handayani,Eko Sulistiyono,F. Firdiyono,Eni Febriana,Wahyu Mayangsari,Sayekti Wahyuningsih,Edi Pramono,Ahmad Maksum,Rini Riastuti,Johny Wahyuadi Soedarsono 한양대학교 청정에너지연구소 2023 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.24 No.1

The development of renewable energy is becoming a crucial aspect because fossil fuels are non-renewable energy and will runout in the near future. Since Indonesia is in the equator area which gets sunshine throughout the year, solar cell is one of therenewable energy which is very promising as renewable energy. The obstacle to develop solar cell is the high cost of solar panel. Therefore, new technology to produce silica with high purity is important to be performed in order to be used as material inmaking solar panels. Here we fabricated high purity silica precipitates from quartz sands from Kendawangan, WestKalimantan. We fabricated silica precipitated by roasting quartz sand and then dissolving the sodium silicate into boilingwater followed by leaching, precipitation and repeatedly washing using hydrochloric acid. The content of SiO2 of atomicabsorption spectroscopy of quartz sand from Kendawangan contains SiO2 of 99.2% and the remaining trace elements areimpurities. The roasting process was conducted using sodium carbonate with the comparison of quartz sand: sodiumcarbonate = 55:45 (% ratio) at 1.200 °C for 2 hours obtaining sodium silicate crystal. The final result of silica precipitatesobtained in this research showed that the silica precipitates has very high purity with content of SiO2 up to 99.99%. Thissuccessful result will contribute for domestic industry which can provide high purity silica precipitates for material source ofsolar grade silicon in photovoltaic device.

Intan Novela QA,Sri Murni,Sri Wahyu Agustiningsih 사람과세계경영학회 2015 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.20 No.2

Recently, global warming has become serious issue and evokes a great challenge faced by humankind. Wastes become one of the contributors to environmental degradation if not managed properly. Independent participation from resident is needed to manage the wastes effectively and efficiently. Problems in this study are how to develop an independent waste management and community empowerment in independent waste management based on greenpreneurship. This study is gradual development of Yogyakarta. The first year study result shows that Sukunan village residents need training in design and product made from waste, especially Styrofoam and glass wastes to be used as raw material to make brick, concrete buis, and ornaments. The residents also need training in technology model, equipment, greenpreneurship spirit, and managerial concept which are needed to find and seize market opportunities. Thus the researcher develops module and training as well as providing supporting equipments needed by the residents.

Earnings Management: A Case Study in Indonesia

Ari Kuncara WIDAGDO,Rahmawati RAHMAWATI,Sri MURNI,Ratnaningrum RATNANINGRUM 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.5

This study aims to verify family ownership’s effect on earnings management by using corporate governance as the moderation variable. This study uses data panel regression with the period of 2011–2017. Corporate governance consisted of three dimensions, namely the board of commissioners, share ownership and transparency, and disclosure and auditing. Discretionary accruals measure earnings management with a model that controls company performance. Samples are manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. Observations were conducted on 198 firms throughout the year. The results indicated that corporate governance significantly affected earnings management. However, it declined the significance of family ownership toward earnings management. Hence, corporate governance can reduce earnings management. Furthermore, of the three components of corporate governance: the board of commissioners, shareholding, and transparency, the term shareholding precisely encouraged managers to conduct earnings management. Besides, the three core bodies of corporate governance lowered the significance of shareholding toward earnings management. This study’s findings suggest that in family firms in Indonesia, earnings management is becoming more intensive than in non-family firms. Additional tests show that there is an entrenchment effect on family firms in Indonesia. Furthermore, corporate governance leads to earnings management.

Fast Convolutional Method for Automatic Sleep Stage Classification

Intan Nurma Yulita,Mohamad Ivan Fanany,Aniati Murni Arymurthy 대한의료정보학회 2018 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.24 No.3

Objectives: Polysomnography is essential to diagnose sleep disorders. It is used to identify a patient’s sleep pattern during sleep. This pattern is obtained by a doctor or health practitioner by using a scoring process, which is time consuming. To overcome this problem, we developed a system that can automatically classify sleep stages. Methods: This paper proposes a new method for sleep stage classification, called the fast convolutional method. The proposed method was evaluated against two sleep datasets. The first dataset was obtained from physionet.org, a physiologic signals data centers. Twenty-five patients who had a sleep disorder participated in this data collection. The second dataset was collected in Mitra Keluarga Kemayoran Hospital, Indonesia. Data was recorded from ten healthy respondents. Results: The proposed method reached 73.50% and 56.32% of the F-measures for the PhysioNet and Mitra Keluarga Kemayoran Hospital data, respectively. Both values were the highest among all the machine learning methods considered in this study. The proposed method also had an efficient running time. The fast convolutional models of the PhysioNet and Mitra Keluarga Kemayoran Hospital data needed 42.60 and 0.06 seconds, respectively. Conclusions: The fast convolutional method worked well on the tested datasets. It achieved a high F-measure result and an efficient running time. Thus, it can be considered a promising tool for sleep stage classification.

      • The Journalism Crisis in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia

Dudi Iskandar,Deddy Mulyana,Sitti Murni Kaddi World Association for Triple Helix and Future Stra 2023 Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia Vol.22 No.2

The focus of this research is the practice of journalism in relation to the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship (JFPP) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Journalists and curators who are participants in the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship received fundings from the state. The Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship is a unique model because it is the only one in the world in journalism practice that involves state's financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. These fundings from the state for the media lead to dilemmas and controversies. This research uses a qualitative approach and a single holistic case study method. The Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship was held from May to December 2021, involving 7,276 journalists from 857 media (print, television, radio, and online media) and 26 curators. This study found that during the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship, journalism experienced a crisis and lost its function as a control overpower. Giving cash to journalists and curators during the fellowship makes journalism lose its independence and objectivity. The Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship has degraded or eliminated the function of the press as a watchdog. Incentives for journalists while participating in the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship is a long-term investment by the government to co-opt Indonesian media and journalists in the future. On the other hand, the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship raises another aspect; the crisis of journalism. Journalism work produced in the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship does not reflect the values and principles of journalism. Journalism values, such as independence and impartiality, are absent from the Behavioural Change Journalism Fellowship product.
