Designing of a new monitoring t-chart using repetitive sampling

        Aslam, Muhammad,Khan, Nasrullah,Azam, Muhammad,Jun, Chi-Hyuck Elsevier science 2014 Information Sciences Vol. No.

In this article, we propose a new t-chart for monitoring a process under the assumption that the time between events follows the exponential distribution. The proposed t-chart has double control limits that use repetitive sampling and determine its control constants. The in-control and the out-of-control average run lengths are derived and tabulated according to various process shifts. The proposed control chart indicates the out-of-control process more quickly than the existing control chart for small shifts. (C) 2014 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Rheological characterization of novel physically crosslinked terpolymeric hydrogelsat different temperatures

        Muhammad Aslam Malana,Rubab Zohra,Muhammad Saleem Khan 한국유변학회 2012 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.24 No.3

The main objective of this research work is to reveal the detailed and extensive rheological characterization of terpolymeric hydrogel formulations using a variety of monomers having different concentrations of acrylic acid and applying a range of temperatures. The hydrogels with the different concentrations of acrylic acid were prepared in the absence of air using three different monomers, by free radical polymerization, gradually increasing the temperature up to polymerization point, using ethyl alcohol as solvent. Different shear measurements were performed to study rheological properties, temperature dependence, and yield strength of acrylic acid pharmaceutical hydrogels. Various models were applied to analyze the rheological behavior of the gels. The acrylic acid pharmaceutical gels having physical cross links in the gel networks, exhibit remarkable temperature dependence especially with relatively higher concentration of acrylic acid at greater shear rate. Flow curves plotted at various temperatures indicate that these gels exhibit a reasonable pseudoplastic behavior. All these hydrogels require appropriate yield strength to break their network struc\-tures. The gel samples exhibit the best fit to the Modified Bingham model, which can explain the overall flow behavior of these topical gels. The rheological analysis indicates that these gels may be used as topical gels for targeted and controlled drug delivery at a specific site.

Modelling and kinetic study of microwave assisted drying of ginger and onion with simultaneous extraction of bioactive compounds

Muhammad Kashif Iqbal Khan,Abid Aslam Maan,Rana Muhammad Aadil,Akmal Nazir,Masood Sadiq Butt,Muhammad Imtiaz Rashid,Muhammad Inam Afzal 한국식품과학회 2020 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.29 No.4

Onion and ginger are rich sources of bioactive compounds which are lost during conventional drying process. The present study was designed to optimize the novel Microwave Assisted Drying and Extraction technique (MADE) for simultaneous drying and extraction/recovery of bioactive compounds from model food products. The time required for drying of samples was 11 (onion) and 16 (ginger) minutes with recovery yield of 87% (onion) and 85% (ginger). The drying time was reduced to 100 times compared to hot air drying and moisture ratio of dried samples was best described by Midilli model. The diffusivities of onion and ginger slices were 1.27 e-11 and 1.43 e-11 m2/s, respectively. Moreover, microwave-based extraction was compared with conventional one. The results of antioxidant activity and total phenolic contents of condensates obtained through MADE were higher compared to conventional method. In short, MADE exhibited better yield of extraction and drying properties compared to conventional methods.

Improved Group Acceptance Sampling Plan for Dagum Distribution under Percentiles Lifetime

Aslam, Muhammad,Shoaib, Muhammad,Khan, Hina The Korean Statistical Society 2011 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.18 No.4

This paper deals with a group acceptance sampling plan for time truncated tests which are based on the total number of failures from the whole group assuming that the life time of an item follows the Dagum (inverse Burr) distribution. This study is developed when a multiple number of items as a group can be tested simultaneously in a tester. The minimum number of groups required for a given group size and acceptance number is determined such that the producer and consumer risks are satisfied simultaneously at the specified quality level, while the termination time and the number of testers are specified. Comparisons are made between the proposed plan and the existing plan on the basis of size of the groups. Two real examples are provided.

SOME INEQUALITIES FOR GEOMETRICALLY PREINVEX FUNCTIONS

Muhammad Aslam Noor,Khalida Inayat Noor,SUNDAS KHAN 장전수학회 2016 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.19 No.1

In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new class of preinvex functions, which is called geometrically preinvex functions. Some new Hermite- Hadamard type inequalities are obtained. Results continue to hold for geomet- rically convex function, which can be obtained as special cases. The idea and technique of this paper may stimulate further research in this field.

      • A control chart for time truncated life tests using Pareto distribution of second kind

Aslam, Muhammad,Khan, Nasrullah,Jun, Chi-Hyuck Taylor Francis 2016 JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL COMPUTATION AND SIMULATION Vol.86 No.11

<P>An attribute control chart is developed in this manuscript for the Pareto distribution of second kind under a time truncated life test. We assume that the lifetime of the product of interest follows this distribution with known or unknown shape parameter. The performance evaluation of the proposed control chart is studied using the average run length (ARL). The tables are presented for various values of shape parameter, sample size, specified ARL and shift constants. A simulation study is given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed control chart for monitoring of non-conforming items in the industries.</P>

Khan, Humera Mehfooz,Waseemullah, Waseemullah,Bhutto, Muhammad Aslam,Khan, Shariq Mahmood,Baig, Mirza Adnan International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.10

Construction industry is considered as one of the oldest industries in the world since human came into being and the need of their own space is realized. All this led to make the world a space of many beautiful constructive ventures. As per the requirements of today's world, every industry is recognizing the need for use and adoption of modern as well as innovative technologies due to their benefits and timely production. Now construction industry has also started adopting the use of modern and innovative technologies during their projects but still the rate of adoption is so slow. From design to completion, construction projects take a lot to manage for which technology based solutions have continuously been proposed. These include Computer Aided Design (CAD), building information modeling (BIM) and cloud computing have been proved to be much successful until now. The construction projects are high budgeted, and direly require timely and successful completion with quality, resource and other constraints. So, the researchers observe the need of more clear and technology based communication between the construction projects and its constructors and other stakeholders is required before and during the construction to take timely precautions for expected issues. This study has analyzed the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology adopting GammaAR, and ARki applications in construction industry. It has been found that both applications are light-weighted, upgradable, provide offline availability and collaborative environment as well as fulfil most of the requirements of the construction industry except the cost. These applications also support different screen size for better visualization and deep understanding. Both applications are analyzed, based on construction's application requirements, usability of AR and ratings of applications user collected from application's platform. The purpose of this research is to provide a detail insight of construction applications which are using AR to facilitate both the future developers and consumers.
