      • MiDAS/TS 시스템을 활용한 응용 개발

        멀티미디어 데이타 서비스 응용과 같이 대용량 데이타의 저장 및 처리를 필요로 하는 DBMS의 저장 장치로 기존의 디스크 뿐만 아니라 테이프 라이브러리 또는 광 디스크 쥬크 박스와 같은 3차 저장 장치가 고려되고 있다. MiDAS/TS(Multi-user index-based Data Access System/Tertiary Storage)는 한국전자통신연구원에서 개발한 바다 DBMS의 저장시스템이다. MiDAS-Ⅲ는 대용량 데이타의 효율적인 저장 및 검색이 가능하도록 광 디스크 쥬크박스 같은 3차 저장 장치를 부착하여 MiDAS/TS(Tertiary Storage)로 확장되었다. 본 논문에서는 MiDAS/TS 시스템을 활용한 응용 개발에 대해 기술한다. MiDAS/TS를 활 용한 응용 개발 사례로 이미지 검색 시스템과 인터넷 방송 시스템을 소개한다. The tertiary storage devices such as tape libraries and optical jukeboxes are now employed as storage for the DBMS to store a huge volume of data needs to be processed in application like multimedia data services. MiDAS-Ⅲ, the storage system for BADA DBMS developed at ETRI, is extended to MiDAS/TS so that it may incorporate the tertary storage devices into its storage area to manage the storage and retrieval of massive amount of data. In this paper, we describe development of applications with MiDAS/TS. Among others, an Image Searching System and an Internet Broadcasting System are presented.

        In 1925, 「Potatoes」 published in literary magazine <the Chosun Literary World> by Kim Tong-In can be thought as a work which is peculiar styles and expression methods with strong taste of Tong-In, and also thought as a typical naturalism work made under the intention. The work 「Potatoes」, when Tong-In surely didn't understand the nature of human being or life living, wasted money like water with great ambition under the noble and self-righteous environment and romantic emotion, was based on realism of naturalism, but it seems hard to say as a work that reavealed wretched life throughtly, and I think the work includes antinaturalism factors that admired a gay life of sex by reflecting his favorable aesthetic fectors with exotic ones. He dealt with 'the death' as a factor, which was something conducted the pursuit of real matter, and showed active intension to break hypocritic ethics, but finally he adapted himself to existing ethics. Because the work is composed of laconical style and accuracy and vividness of expression and plots and characters was stationed without the smallest strain, I think this work is the masterpiece of tendency literature of naturalism with the works 「Myung Moony」, 「Kim Yun-sil Chun」 etc.

      • 自然科 學習資料에 關한 考察

        In this paper, I will try to find out the significances of science teaching materials, and study the administrative methods of material as considered their effective use. The significances are considered from the relations between the materials and the theories of newly developed science projects, and between the materials and cognitive development is children. From all these theories we can observe that real objects are necessary in improving the contents and teaching methods of science education. In order to use teaching materials effectively with limited quantities of them in many classes, the materials should be administrated according to distributed forms of periods for using them. The distributed forms will be classified in four groups. The "single form", one of them, takes about 60% of analysed materials. The materials of this form will be good to be bound as units, but many quantities of materials will be necessary for the other forms to be done so. The least quantities of materials to be needed in a school are determined by four variables, and the quantities are reciprocal to a variable of them, "density", which indicates the frequency of classes used in a week. About 80% of the Elementary Science teaching materials in Korea take the small degree of density, that is, 1 or 2. This study concludes that the science teaching materials should be administrated according to the distributed forms, and prepared as considered the density, in order to teach more effectively with small amounts of money for our most schools having many classes.

      • Agrobacterium sp.를 이용한 바이오폴리머 생산에서 발효조건들의 영향

        Effects of carbon, nitorgen, PH, and reactor types on biopolymer production with Agro bactehum sp. were studied in this article. The optimal glucose concentration for cell gro wth was 40 g/l and that for pH was 6. The optimal pH for glucan production was 8. Fo r the two different types of fermentors, stirred tank and bubble column, the biopolymer p roduction was examined. The bubble column fermentor which has high oxygen transfer rate showed the high biopolymer production characteristics.

      • 백서에서 신 허혈성 손상에 미치는 칼슘 길항제의 효과

        Renal ischemia is one of the most common causes of acute renal failure. Four factors related to the pathogenesis of acute renal failure are vasoconstriction, decreased glomerular filtration rate, tubular back leak of filtrate, and intratubular obstruction. The cellular response to renal ischemic insults include decreased content of adenosine trihosphate, lipid peroxidation induced membrane degradation, alteration in cellular pH, and calcium or phospholipase induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Much attention has been given to the role of increased cellular calcium as a pathogenetic contributor to cell injury during ischemia. Author studied the protective effects of calcium antagonists on cellular injury during renal ischemia in rat. To investigate the protective role of these agents, author measured the amount of malondialdehyde(MDA) and the enzyme activities of free radical scarvengers-superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase from non-pretreated group and calcium antagonists pretreated groups in control, ischemia and reflow subgroups. The results were summerized as follows: 1) The amount of MDA in non-pretreated group was higher in the reflow compared with the control(<p<0.01). But, in all pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the amount of MDA. 2) The SOD activity in non-pretreated group was lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But, in both verapamil and trifluoperazine-pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the SOD activity. 3) Both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities in non-pretreated group were lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But in all pretreated groups, there was no statically difference in both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities. These results suggest that free radical mediated ischemic injury by renal artery clamp in rat can be protected by intraperitoneal pretreatment with calcium antagonists. As trifluoperazine has a protective effect in renal ischemia, the calcium activated calmodulin dependent enzyme may play a role in renal ischemic injury.

      • 自然科 相互作用 槪念 形成의 評價資料 開發에 관한 硏究 : 物體의 均衡과 電流와 磁氣場 單元을 중심으로

        The newly developed science program is being carried out in our elementary school science. However, the materials evaluating children's formation of the basic concepts of science are not developed enough. Learning and teaching in our elementary schools are misled now by the evaluation materials which are made without understanding the elementary science curriculum sufficiently. The purpose of this study is to develop the evaluation materials with which we could find how much and accurately Korean children build up the the interaction concept of science. The concept in a child is formed by the individual experiences and operational thinking, and is accommodated and developed by understanding the relation among the concepts. Thus, we conclude that the interaction concept is formed by perceiving change of objects, by classifying the evidencies of interaction into several groups, by abstracting the common feature from them, and by understanding the relation between the interaction intensity and the conditions of arrangement of objects in the interaction medium. According to this viewpoint, we analyzed the behavioural objects for use in evaluating the children's formation of interaction concept as follows: 11. Knowledge on the scientific terms and symbols. 12. Knowledge on the special facts of interaction. 21. Knowledge on the evidencies of interaction. 22. Knowledge on the interacting objects. 23. Knowledge on the time and space of the interaction. 31. Interpretation of the interaction laws. 32. Understanding the organized factors of the interaction law. 33. Understanding the relations among the interaction variables. 34. Solving the interaction problem and applying the interaction law. Based upon the subject contents and the behavioural objects, we tried to develop the evaluation materials which have the validity for the science teaching objects and the utility in the large class size in Korean elementary schools. We made 64 items for evaluating the concept formation of the equilibrium of objects', and those items are divided into two parts: A and B, and are put to the test by the third garde students in the Attached Elementary School to Cheong Ju Junior Teachers College. The arithmetic mean score of that test is 68.0 Pearson r of the A and B is 0.63, and the total reliability coefficient is 0.77. We made also 74 items for evaluating the concept formation of ‘the electric current and magnetic field', and those are tested in two parts: A and B by the sixth grade students in the same school. The arithmetic mean score of the test is 78.4, Pearson r is 0.67, and the total reliability coefficient is 0.80. We calculated the item difficulty (P) and discriminating index(D.I.) for each item. These values are shown in the table of item analysis. (See Table <5> and <6>). The number of the good items, which meet the conditions that P value is from 20 to 80 and D.I. is larger than+0.20, is 29 in ‘the equilibrium of objects' and 34 in ‘the electric current and magnetic field'. Most of the items being not met the conditions have a large P value, and have a small D.I. value because of the large P value, but some of them may have a smaller p value and a larger D.I. value than the value shown at the Tale <5>and <6> in other schools, since the students chosen for testing our evaluation materials were selected through the entrance examination, and have been taught under the better science facilities of the school than the other school students, and most of them are in the good family background and have comparatively high I.Q. (i.e., mean score, about 115.7). We analyzed the items having very small P and D.I. values. As a result of the analysis, we will conclude that the reason that the items have such small values may be in the children's wrong concept formation. We think that even the some items being not met the condition it is reasonable to use for finding out the process of the children's concept formation and the effective teaching methods.

      • 고려인삼의 홍삼 품질평가요인 분석

        This study was conducted to evaluate the elements affect on the quality of red ginseng. For that purpose, we surveyed the relationship between the red ginseng quality and the properties of material ginseng, processing methods, root year, root size, production location, and cultivation methods. Six-year old raw ginseng caused higher inside cavity than younger one did and larger sized ginseng increased outside cracking and inside cavity but decreased inside white than smaller sized one did. The production location did not affect the quality of red ginseng. The red ginseng processed with the ginseng grown on upland field showed lower outside cracking and inside cavity than the red ginseng processed with the ginseng grown on paddy field did. In terms of cultivation method, transplanting method showed lower inside cavity and inside white rates than direct sowing method did. In conclusion, ginseng cultivation location and cultivation method affected on the quality of the red ginseng more than the root age, root size and production location did.

      • ISC3모델을 이용한 버스터미널 주변의 질소산화물 농도 예측

        In this study, NOx concentration was investigated around the local/highway bus terminal area by using ISC3 model. NOx concentrations were simulated by the yearly mean values which were in the morning, in the afternoon and at night. As the result of the verification and the calibration for the model accuracy, the correlation coefficients was 0.94. Therefore, ISC3 model was suitable for this area. In the result of NOx concentration using ISCLT3, the average concentration of NO2 was 13.05 ppb. The range of influence that engine emissions affected terminal area, was larger in the morning than in the afternoon. Because mixing height was higher in the afternoon than that in the morning, so emissions were diffused toward upper ambient air that range of engine emission influence was narrow. At night, the range of engine emission influence was the largest in a day. Because mixing height was the lowest at night. So horizontal diffusion was dominated than vertical one.

      • Helicobacter pylori가 만성위염과 위종양에 미치는 영향에 관한 면역조직화학적 밑 초미세구조적 연구

        Background and Objectives : Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is accepted as a principal cause of chronic gastritis and an important factor in the pathogenesis of peptic ulcer and gastric malignancy. The aim of our studies is to investigate relationships between H. pylori and gastric epithelial cells. Materials ðods : One hundred and eighty one H. pylori positive cases of gastric biopsy specimens were studied immunohistochemically and ultrastructurally. Results : p53 positive staining exhibited foveolar epithelial hyperplasia in 1 out of 32 cases, regeneration in 2 out of 12 cases, incomplete intestinal metaplasia in 5 out of 41 cases, complete intestinal metaplasia in 3 out of 18 cases, chronic ulcer in 1 out of 9 cases, tubular adenoma in 2 out of 14 cases and intestinal type of adenocarcinoma in 16 out of 21 cases. Ultrastructurally, H. pylori was observed to be in direct contact with the microvilli of the target cells and was demolishing the surface microvilli. The organisms were in close contact with the uncoated cell membrance. Penetration into the gastric cells by a few organisms was associated with marked cell damage and ultimately to cell disintegration. Conclusion : Our results suggest that H. pylori plays a role in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer, leading a relatively slow, long lasting process that induces chronic active gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia, and adenocarcinoma of intestinal type.
