Development of CNT-dispersed Si3N4 Ceramics by Adding Lower Temperature Sintering Aids
Mitsuaki Matsuoka,Sara Yoshio,Junichi Tatami,Toru Wakihara,Katsutoshi Komeya,Takeshi Meguro 한국세라믹학회 2012 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.49 No.4
The study to give electrical conductivity by dispersing carbon nanotubes (CNT) into silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramics has been carried out in recent years. However, the density and the strength of Si3N4 ceramics were degraded and CNTs disappeared after firing at high temperatures because CNTs prevent Si3N4 from densification and there is a possibility that CNTs react with Si3N4 or SiO2. In order to suppress the reaction and the disappearance of CNTs, lower temperature densification is needed. In this study, HfO2 and TiO2 was added to Si3N4-Y2O3-Al2O3-AlN system to fabricate CNT-dispersed Si3N4 ceramics at lower temperatures. HfO2 promotes the densification of Si3N4 and prevents CNT from disappearance. As a result, the sample by adding HfO2 and TiO2 fired at lower temperatures showed higher electrical conductivity and higher bending strength. It was also shown that the mechanical and electrical properties depended on the quantity of the added CNTs.
Indoor Human Navigation System on Smartphones using View-Based Navigation
Mitsuaki Nozawa,Yoshinobu Hagiwara,Yongwoon Choi 제어로봇시스템학회 2012 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2012 No.10
We present a new human navigation system on smartphones for indoor environments. The conventional systems have required specific positioning infrastructures installed in buildings. In contrast, the proposed system is not to need such requirements because it can determine the position of a user by image matching to process the images from a smartphone camera indoors like a certain corridor. Although a number of personal positioning methods based on image processing have been proposed, it has been difficult in processing cost to apply them just like that to the proposed system. From this point of view, we have focused on the view-based navigation which has been developed as an indoor positioning method for robots due to its simple algorithm by only one monocular camera. By devising the techniques for applying this view-based navigation to a smartphone, we can visually provide the user having a smartphone the positional and directional information to a destination. This paper describes the algorithm of the view-based navigation speeded up for smartphones and shows experimental results for human navigation performed with usually walking in an indoor corridor.

( Mitsuaki Nagasawa ),( Mitsuo Kaku ),( Tomoaki Sato ),( Yoshio Kori ),( Kazuhisa Inuzuka ) 대한임상병리사협회 2009 임상미생물검사학회 발표자료집 Vol.2009 No.-
Background: We present the epidemiological trends of drug resistant bacterium and also we report the current situation of drug susceptibility test in Japan. Methods: We have performed the drug susceptibility test of 31 species of major bacterium with the cooperation of 87-254 nationwide hospitals since 1997. Results & Conclusion: The rates of MRSA were 60-70% and the rates of VRE were 0-0.5%. The rates of IPM resistant P. aeruginosa were approximately 20% and there were no change of resistance rates during 10 years. Quinolone resistant N. gonorrhoeae and E. coli have been increased since 2000 and their rates were approximately 60% and 20% respectively. The epidemiological investigation of Multidrug resistant P. aeruginosa have been started the since 2004 and their rates were 3-4%. Currently, the share of the methods of drug susceptibility test in Japan are MicroScan 59.7%, Vitek 21.2%, Eiken 12.3%, Phoenix 3.9% and Raisus 2.9%. The difference was admitted in the drug resistant rate with an automated microbiology testing system in a part of species. We evaluated the difference and utility among these testing instruments by using the same strains. However, the major difference and utility were not recognized.
