        Applying Haneda’s Activity System-based L2 Writing Development Model to L2 Writing Education in Korean Universities

        This study aimed to compare Haneda’s three stage L2 writing development model with Korean students’ three level L2 writing development process. I also tried to complement Haneda’s L2 writing development model by identifying the incidents/events that helped Korean students elevate their L2 writing proficiency (e.g., study-abroad experience). Data was collected from the participant’s questionnaires, interviews, L2 writings, and personal narratives. Data showed that Korean students’ L2 writing development process was generally consistent with Haneda’s activity system-based L2 writing development model, with the exception of highly motivated students. There are three pedagogical implications in this study. First, the importance of goal/motivation for Korean students to advance their L2 writing. Second, the effectiveness of the English immersion program for Korean students to improve their L2 writing. Third, the potential effectiveness of setting target readers in L2 writing.

        항만배후도시성장에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 실증연구

        본 연구는 1997년부터 2013년까지 우리나라 주요항만도시인 부산, 인천, 광양, 평택의 항만입지특성요인과 항만배후도시성장간의 관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요내용과 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 국내 항만중 대표적인 컨테이너처리 항만인 부산항, 인천항, 광양항, 평택항을 분석대상으로 배후도시 성장에 영향을 주는 변수가 무엇인지를 분석하기 위하여 패널분석을 추진하였다. 독립변수는 항만 입지특성인 수출입물동량,입출항선박톤수, 선석길이로 하였고, 종속변수는 지방세로 하였다. 분석결과 수출입물동량과 입출항선박톤수와 선석길이 모두 종속변수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 수출입물동량과 입출항선박톤수는 배후지역 도시성장에 긍정적인 영향을 주고 있지만 선석길이는 부정적인 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. Previous port studies show that private terminal operators would own facilities in competing ports within an east asian regional system, that policy environments in such a system can have spatial (de)concentration effects beyond market forces alone, and that government policies stimulating spatial alignment result in an atypical spatial jumping pattern by private players (Wang, 1998;Wang and Slack, 2000). The development of the major port-city interface can be regarded as an evolving relationship between a port and its urban surrounding (Daamen 2007). Anyport model has been supported during the past half-century of theoretical and empirical challenge in the field of port research. It provided a main criteria to compare the development of actual ports (Bird 1963). Port-City development analyzes the spatial interaction of a port and its surrounding urban area (Abdullah et al. 2012). Hoyle (2000), in his port-city evolution model, adopts a six-stage chronological approach to explain the port-city interrelationship. The ports in this study are the fourmajor ports that deal with shipping containers in south korea, which are located in the following cities: busan, incheon, gwangyang, and pyeongtaek. The data in this study ranges from 1997 to 2013. The methods used to obtain this data include gathering relevant business documentation, interviewing employees or subjectmatter experts, and statistical analysis. The results and analysis of this study are as follows. A panel regression was conducted on the four primary ports that deal with shipping containers in south korea, which are Busan, Incheon, Gwangyang, and Pyeongtaek. The port variables examined include the number of cargo traffic including export and import, the number of vessel traffic such as arrival and departure of each port, and berth length which is a measure of the port's overall construction. The variable used to determine city growth was the amount of local taxes collected. The results of the panel regression revealed that all three variables had an effect on taxes. Increases in container cargo and vessel traffic corresponded to increases in taxes collected for nearby cities, which indicates growth in those cities. However, an increase in berth length had a negative effect on taxes collected, which indicates a negative overall effect on city growth.

        사용자의 콘텐츠 선택에는 많은 시간이 소요된다. 추천시스템 알고리즘은 사용자에게 다양한 콘텐츠를 추천하여 콘텐츠 선택의 시간을 단축한다. 딥러닝을 활용한 협업 필터링 기반의 추천시스템인 Self-Attentive Sequential Recommendation과 Neural Collaborative Filtering 알고리즘을 사용하여 영화 추천시스템을 구축하고 성능을 비교하고자 한다. It takes a lot of time for the user to select content. The recommendation system algorithm shortens the time to select content by recommending various contents to the user. Using Self-Attractive Sequential Recommendation and Neural Collaborative Filtering algorithm, a collaborative filtering-based recommendation system using deep learning, we intend to build a movie recommendation system and compare its performance.
