        Nerve Growth Factor and Sensory Neuropeptide Levels in Plasma and Saliva of Various Orofacial Pain Patients

        Nerve growth factor (NGF) and sensory neuropeptides are involved in the process of nociception at peripheral nerve fibers and wide spread in central nervous system. The aims of this study were to investigate NGF and sensory neuropeptides (substance P [SP] and calcitonin gene-related peptide [CGRP]) levels in human plasma and saliva, and the associations between these sensory neuropeptides levels and chronic orofacial pain symptoms. NGF, SP, and CGRP levels in plasma and resting whole saliva samples collected from 67 orofacial pain patients (joint pain, dental or periodontal pain, mucosal pain) and 36 pain free control subjects were measured by enzyme immunoassay. The characteristic pain intensity of each subject was measured using the Graded Chronic Pain Scale and the flow rate of resting whole saliva was measured. Joint pain patients group showed significantly higher plasma NGF level compared to each of dental pain patients (p<0.01), mucosal pain patients (p<0.01), and control group (p<0.01). Plasma NGF level of dental pain patients group was significantly higher than that of control group (p<0.01). Saliva SP level of dental pain patients group (p<0.05) and saliva CGRP level of mucosal pain group (p<0.05) were significantly higher than that of control group. Plasma and saliva SP levels of joint pain patients was significantly associated with pain intensity (plasma: standardized coefficient=0.599, p<0.01, saliva: standardized coefficient=0.504, p=0.05). In dental pain patients group, plasma SP (standardized coefficient=0.559, p<0.01), saliva SP (standardized coefficient=0.520, p<0.01) and saliva CGRP (standardized coefficient=0.599, p<0.01) levels were significantly associated with age. In mucosal pain patients group, plasma SP (standardized coefficient=0.495, p<0.05), saliva SP (standardized coefficient=0.500, p<0.05), and saliva CGRP (standardized coefficient=0.717, p<0.01) levels were significantly associated with age. NGF and neuropeptides may play a role in the maintenance of various orofacial pain symptoms. The examination of those levels in plasma and saliva helps understanding the mechanism of orofacial pain, and furthermore, can be applied to the diagnosis and therapy of orofacial pain.

        회전익 항공기 구조건전성 향상을 위한 주륜착륙장치 결함 개선연구

        착륙장치는 회전익 항공기 및 탑승 병력의 생명을 보호해야 하는 고도의 안전성이 요구되는 주요 구성품으로 이/착륙 시 충격을 흡수하고 지상에서 활주 및 계류 시 동체를 지지한다. 특히 항공기 동체를 지지하는 주륜 착륙장치는 지면으로부터 시작되는 충격을 완충장치와 타이어를 통해 대부분 흡수하는 역할을 수행하게 되는데, 이를 통해 항공기에 탑승한 조종사의 안전을 보장하고, 임무 수행 간 병력의 작전 운용능력을 만족시킨다. A 기종 회전익 항공기 운용 중에, 우측 주륜 착륙장치 구성품인 피스톤 핀(Piston Pin)이 다수 파손된 것이 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 주륜 착륙장치에서 발견된 피스톤 핀(Piston Pin) 균열 현상에 대한 근본적인 원인을 찾기 위해, 파면 분석에서부터 비행 시험을 통한 착륙 하중 해석에 이르기까지 다양한 원인 규명 방법을 모색하였다. 특히 개발 당시 피스톤 핀에 적용되었던 드래그 빔(Drag beam) 구성품과의 체결 토크에 대한 영향성을 토대로 균열 발생 가능성들에 대한 분석을 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 피로 수명과 구조건전성을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. The landing gear is a component that requires a high degree of safety to protect the lives of rotary-wing aircraft and boarding personnel, absorbing the impact on transfer/landing and supporting the fuselage during taxiing and mooring on the ground. In particular, the wheel landing gear supporting the aircraft fuselage absorbs most of the shock from the ground through the shock absorber and tires. This ensures the safety of the pilot on board the aircraft and satisfies the operational capability of the soldiers between missions. During the operation of a rotary-wing aircraft, a number of piston pins, which are a component of the right main wheel landing gear, were found to be broken. Therefore, this study examined the root cause of the piston pin crack phenomenon found in the main wheel landing gear. For this purpose, various causes were identified from fracture surface analysis of a flight test. In particular, the possibility of cracking was analyzed based on the influence on the fastening torque with the drag beam component applied to the piston pin at the time of development. This ensures the fatigue life and structural integrity.

        PO-GO 연계기법을 이용한 RCS 해석코드 개발

        효율적인 RCS 감소 연구를 위해 고주파수 근사 기법을 연계한 혼합기법 기반의 RCS 예측 코드를 개발하였다. 연계기법으로 전자기파 산란에 관한 고주파 기법인 물리광학법(Physical Optics)과 기하광학법(Geometrical Optics)을 이용하였다. RCS 산란 메커니즘의 하나인 Cavity Return 효과를 확인하기 위해 Inlet 영역은 기하광학법을 적용하였고, 그 외 영역은 물리광학법을 적용하였다. 예측코드의 정확성을 검증하기 위하여 구의 이론해와 예측결과를 비교하였고, Cavity가 존재하는 Sphere에 대한 Full Wave 해석해와 결과값을 비교하였다. 마지막으로 비행체 형상에 대한 RCS 해석문제에 적용하여 개발 코드의 유용성을 확인하였다. A hybrid method based on high-frequency asymptotic optics was developed in order to predict the RCS of flying vehicles for RCS reduction studies. In cavity return, the rays are assumed to bounce from the inlet cavity based on the laws of geometrical optics and to exit the cavity via the aperture. In other parts of a flying vehicle, the physical optics method is applied to compute the back-scattered field from the solid surface. The hybrid method was validated by considering simple models of sphere and sphere with cavity. In addition, RCS analysis of a flying vehicle was conducted using the new hybrid electromagnetic scattering method based on physical optics and geometrical optics theories.

        모야모야병 환자의 뼈목동맥관 직경과 임상표현과의 관계

        Background: Moyamoya disease is characterized by a progressive stenosis or occlusion of the intracranial internal carotid artery and/or the proximal portion of the anterior cerebral artery and middle cerebral artery. Whether the onset time was childhood or adulthood, the bony carotid canal diameter might be different, but reflects the size of internal carotid artery passing through the bony carotid canal. In this study, we aimed to identify the relationship between bony carotid canal diameter and clinical manifestation. Methods: 146 consecutive patients diagnosed with moyamoya disease by brain imaging studies were included. We measured the diameter of a transverse portion of bony carotid canal on bone window of a brain computed tomography(CT) image. Patients were divided into two groups, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke according to clinical manifestation. As a result, 115 patients were included. The Suzuki stage was used as criteria for disease progression. Results: Bony carotid canal diameter was $3.6{\pm}0.5$ (right) and $3.6{\pm}0.4$ (left) in the hemorrhagic stroke group, and $3.7{\pm}0.4$ (right) and $3.6{\pm}0.4$ (left) in the ischemic stroke group. The bony carotid canal diameter of the moyamoya vessels (3.6 mm) was smaller than the diameter of non-moyamoya vessels (3.8 mm), significantly (p = 0.042). However, there was no difference in the collateral patterns and clinical manifestation in a comparison of both groups. Conclusions: In our study, there was no significant difference of clinical manifestations and collateral patterns depend on the bony carotid canal diameter in patients with moyamoya disease. These findings suggest that the clinical presentations of moyamoya disease are not related to the onset time of the disease.

        DEA를 활용한 국내 방산업체 효율성 분석

        무기체계의 복잡성과 현대화로 인해 군수품을 생산하는 방위산업체의 역할은 점점 더 중요시되고 있다. 과거 내수위주의 방위산업은 가격 경쟁력이 제품 선택의 주요 요소였다. 하지만, 오늘날 우수 품질을 바탕으로 국내 군수품에 대한 수출이 급속도로 확대되고 있는 실정이며 국내 방위산업체의 경영의 효율성을 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 방안이 필요 시 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 의사결정 방법론 중 하나인 자료포락분석기법(Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA)를 활용하여 경영효율성을 측정하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 DEA를 활용하기 위해 투입 변수로 종업원수(품질부서), R&D현황을 설정하였고 출력 변수로는 매출액 및 영업이익을 설정하였다. 방산업체의 효율성을 분석하기 위해 불면 규모수익을 가정하는 CCR(harnes, Cooper and Rhodes)모형과 수익변동모형을 가정하는 BCC(Banker, Charnes and Cooper)모형을 모두 분석하였으며 규모효율성(Scale Efficiency: SE) 값을 도출하여 비효율적인 DMU의 원인을 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 국내 방위산업체의 수준 평가 및 비효율적인 DMU의 원인을 분석하였으며 마지막으로 국내 방산업체의 발전 방안을 도출하였다. Owing to the complexity and modernization of weapon systems, the role of the defense industry in producing military supplies has become increasingly important. In previous defense industries, price competitiveness was a key factor in the product choice. On the other hand, as exports of domestic military supplies are expanding rapidly based on superior quality, there is a need to evaluate objectively the efficiency of management in the domestic defense industry. In this study, the efficiency of management was measured using DEA, which is one of the decision methodologies. In addition, the number of employees (QA Employee) and R&D performance were set as input variables to utilize DEA, and the output variables were based on sales and operating profit. Based on the results of the analysis, a future study will measure the efficiency of the management of domestic defense industry to help guide a strategic development plan.

        요구사항 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 인증의 국내 군용 항공기 적용방안 연구

        최근에 미국 또는 유럽 등에서 개발되거나 해당 국가의 영공에 취항하기 위한 민간 항공기에는 RTCA (radio technical commission for aeronautics)에서 발표하고 미연방항공국 (Federal Aviation Administration)에서 인정한 DO-178에 따른 탑재소프트웨어 신뢰성 검증이 요구된다. 이는 각 분야에서 소프트웨어에 대한 의존이 날로 심화되는 가운데 사고 발생시 경제적, 사회적으로 치명적인 영향이 발생하는 민간 항공 분야에서 먼저 소프트웨어 신뢰도 향상을 위한 노력이 진행되었기 때문이다. 이 논문에서는 소프트웨어 신뢰도 향상을 위해 DO-178에서 요구하고 있는 요구사항 기반의 신뢰성 검증을 위해 선결되어야 할 요건들을 파악하고, 현재 방위사업청의 무기체계 획득 절차에 기반 하여 각 획득 단계에 맞는 점검 요소들을 분석하여 제시하였다. 또한 해외에서 축적된 정보를 바탕으로 식별된 주요 점검요소를 국내 항공기 개발 사업에 적용하고 적용결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 현재의 무기체계 획득 절차에 개발 단계별 소프트웨어 점검 요소를 추가하고 객관적 점검 기준을 제시하는 것으로 DO-178에 따른 요구사항 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 점검에 대한 개발관리가 가능한 것으로 확인되었다. In recent years, It is required to verify software reliability according to DO-178, which announced by radio technical commission for aeronautics (RTCA) and recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for civil aircraft developed or intended to fly in the United States or Europe. This is because the reliance on software in each field is deepening, and the efforts for improvement of software reliability have been made first in civil aviation field where economic and social impacts are catastrophic in the event of an accident. In this paper, we have identified some issues to be considered for requirements-based reliability verification required by DO-178 to improve software reliability and present the major elements of the present weapon system acquisition procedure of DAPA for each stage. In addition, we analyzed the results of applying the identified main check factors to a domestic aircraft development project based on the information accumulated in overseas aircraft development projects. As a result, we have shown that it is possible to verify requirements-based software reliability according to DO-178 by adding key checkpoints to the current weapon system acquisition procedure and providing objective inspection criteria.

      • 18–30세 사이에 발생하는 뇌경색의 특징, 다기관 레지스트리 연구

        Objectives: Although there have been several reports that described characteristics for young age stroke, information regarding very young age (18–30 years old) has been limited. We aimed to analyze demographic factors, stroke subtype, and 3-month outcome in acute ischemic stroke patient who have relatively very young age in multicenter stroke registry. Methods: We evaluated all 122 (7.1%) consecutive acute ischemic stroke (within 7 days after symptom onset) patients aged 18 to 30 from 17,144 patients who registered in multicenter prospective stroke registry, 1997 to 2012. Etiology was classified by Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment criteria. Stroke severity was defined as National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and stroke outcome was defined by modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 3 months after index stroke. Results: The mean age of all included patients was 25.1±3.7 years and 76 patients (62.2%) were male. The median NIHSS at admission was 4. Considering stroke subtype, 37 patients (30.3%) had stroke of other determined etiology (SOD), 37 (30.3%) had undetermined negative evaluation (UN) and 31 (25.4%) had cardioembolism (CE) were frequently noted. After adjusting age, sex and variables which had P<0.1 in univariable analysis (NIHSS and stroke subtype), CE stroke subtype (odds ratio, 4.68; 95% confidence interval, 1.42–15.48; P=0.011) were significantly associated with poor functional outcome (mRS≥3). Conclusion: In very young age ischemic stroke patients, SOD and UN stroke subtype were most common and CE stroke subtype was independently associated with poor discharge outcome.
