자외선A로 손상된 DNA의 회복과 DNCB에 의한 알러지성 접촉피부염에 대한 표고버섯과 침향 추출 혼합물의 효과

The effects of extracts from Lentinula edodes (L. edodes) and Aquilariae agallocha (A. agallocha) on the DNA damage response in ultraviolet A (UVA)-exposed HaCaT cells and on the allergic contact dermatitis caused by 2,4-dinitro-chlorobezene (DNCB) were investigated. When UVA-exposed cells were incubated for 24 hours in medium containing L. edodes or A. agallocha extract, the level of 8-OHdG and CPD decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. The combined treatment with both extracts potentiated the decrease in UVA-induced 8-OHdG and CPD levels as compared with those following treatment with a single extract. In addition, the two extracts showed preventive effects against the UVA-induced reduction in collagen levels. Furthermore, the blood levels of IgE, IL-6, and histamine decreased more significantly upon combined treatment with L. edodes and A. agallocha extracts as compared with those following treatment with single extracts in DNCB-induced allergic contact dermatitis in the ICR mouse. The results of the present study suggest that the components with in the extracts of L. edodes and A. agallocha can help to prevent of UVA-induced genomic instability via a decrease in DNA damage, and to decrease the DNCB-induced allergic dermatitis via modulation of relevant proteins including IgE and IL-6. Further study is needed to clarify the purified components related to the preventative effects of the two extracts against UVA- or DNCB-induced genomic damage.

우울증 환자에서 외상 사건 경험과 주관적 수면 문제의 특성

Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between subjective sleep problems and various types of traumatic events of patients with depressive disorder. Methods : A total of 411 patients diagnosed with depressive disorders were recruited in this study. The participants filled out Life Time Events Checklist (LEC), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). We used the independent t-test and analysis of covariance to compare each component of PSQI between depressive patients with and without traumatic experiences. Results : The groups of patients who experienced a serious accident at work, home or during recreational activity, sexual assault, other unwanted or uncomfortable sexual experience, life-threatening illness or injury, and sudden, unexpected death of a near and dear one showed lower scores in a few components of PSQI. Sleep disturbance was a common problem in all five groups. Lower subjective sleep quality and longer sleep latency was observed in three groups. There were no differences in the other components of PSQI among groups. Conclusion : This study showed that various types of traumatic events may have different effects on subjective sleep quality as a consequence of the traumatic event which they had experienced.

This review paper was written to provide background information as well as future application for aquatic ecologists interested in using stable isotope. table isotope techniques has proved to be an extremely useful to elucidate a ot of environmental and ecological problems. Stable isotopes have been used as possible tracers to identify sources, to quantify relative inputs in a system. When utilized carefully, stable isotope tools provides apparent advantages for the scientists to find out the processes of material cycles in various nvironments and energy flows in natural ecosystems.

구멍갈파래 대발생을 야기한 질소원 추적 연구 -질소 및 산소 안정동위원소비 활용-

Recently, occurance of opportunistic macroalgae bloom (U. lactuca) is a globally considered a sign of eutrophication. The aims of this study were to determine the cause of the bloom using multi-isotope techniques(δ¹³C, δ¹⁵N, δ¹⁵N-NO₃ and δ¹⁸O-NO₃) and investigate why the bloom sustained in the lower reach of the bay. Ulva coverd Bangdu bay were measured along 9 line transects(20 sites). Water column samples including seawater, groundwater, aquaculture and agriculture drainage were collected for nutrient and isotope analysis to investigate the flux of nitrogen from the anthropogenic source. Ulva tissue was collected and analysed both concentration and isotope values for C, N and metals(Sr). The results showed that anthropogenic nitrogen source, specifically ammonium and nitrate, from the agriculture and aquaculture drainage and input from a nearby groundwater acted as a consistent source of nutrient that enabled the bloom to persist in Bangdu bay, Jeju island. With the modeling approach we found a high range in the estimate proportion of groundwater N, indicating that the mixing models is good tool to reveal contribution of N source. The low concentration of metals and high concentration of N in the tissue of U. lactuca mean this algae has the potential to be used as a fertilizer or composted if harvested. Better characterization of tributary δ¹⁵N-NO₃ and δ¹⁸O-NO₃ by better measurements or a more detailed modeling approach will aid in understanding N-cycle dynamics in estuary ecosystem.

Fludarabine, a chain terminating anti-cancer drug, is a purine analogue that causes DNA strand breaks in normal cells. In this study, we determined if A. melanocarpa and Korean red ginseng extract mixture reduce cytotoxicity of fludarabine. Treatment of HaCaT cells with 10 μM of fludarabine for 24 hours decreased cell viability and increased DNA strand breaks. Treatment of A. melanocarpa and Korean red ginseng extract mixture for 24 hours increased cell viability as compared with single extract treatment. The protective effect of these extracts on cell activity increased in a concentration-dependent manner. DNA strand breaks induced by fludarabine decreased as concentration of extract mixture increased. p-H2AX level, a marker of DNA strand breakage, decreased depending on the concentration of extract mixture. The effect of mixed extract of A. melanocarpa and Korean red ginseng on DNA damage is due to the anti-oxidative effect of A. melanocarpa and signal transmission through glucocorticoid receptor upon binding of saponin of Korean red ginseng.

OpenCV 기반 증강현실로 구현한 지능형 물류 관리 시스템

본 연구는 택배 물류 관리에서 물체를 적재하는데 있어, 최대한 효율적이면서도 노동자들의 안전을 보장하고, 적재 업무 담당자에게 효율적인 적재 위치를 알려주는 적재시스템을 연구하는데 있다. 3d 카메라의 depth 센서를 활용하여 카메라로 촬영하는 물체의 크기를 측정한 뒤 적재 알고리즘을 통하여 그 물체를 적재장소 위의 어느 위치에 배치하여야 가장 효율적으로 적재를 할 수 있을지 결정할 수 있다. 제한된 공간 안에서 최적의 위치에 물체를 배치하는 알고리즘을 통해 계산된 가이드라인을 빔프로젝터를 통해 시각화하여 적재 업무 담당자가 안전하고 정확하게 업무를 진행할 수 있다. 제안하는 시스템은 OpenCV를 활용하여 영상처리를 통해 물체를 인식하고 물체의 크기를 측정하여 증강현실로 구현한 지능형 물류 관리 시스템이다. 측정한 데이터를 Gui(Graphic User Interface) 플랫폼을 이용하여 입력받고 적재장소 위의 어느 위치에 배치해야 하는지를 안내해주어 정해진 시간 안에서 효율적으로 물체를 적재하고 업무를 진행 할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 것이다.

논문 : 1930년대 기독교청년회의 농민계몽과 소설 연구 -『농촌청년』 문예란을 중심으로

The purpose of this paper is to examine the aspect of narrative enlightenment in the field of rural enlightenment shown through NongchonCheongnyeon, which occurred during the 1930`s between peasants or peasants and intellectuals. The YMCA was already publishing the bulletin, Cheongnyeon when they started issuing NongchonCheongnyeon to support rural business. The difference between NongchonCheongnyeon and Cheongnyeon was their target audiences. Cheongnyeon was made for intellectuals and urbanites but NongchonCheongnyeon was specifically intended for peasants and the people responsible for rural businesses. Therefore, an effective way to understand how peasants were enlightened through text during the 1930`s is to examine periodicals like NongchonCheongnyeon. Young intellectuals in YMCA, including Byeongsun Hong, focused on spiritual reform for peasants and the establishment of a cooperative association. Their message was delivered to peasants through special articles in NongchonCheongnyeon. These articles which targeted peasants were easy to read in comparison to other periodicals. YMCA also serialized one to three novels per each issue as they gave high credit towards novels` popularity and educational value. For instance, 「Three Ants」 was an ant fable for historical enlightenment and 「The Success of a Couple」 was a popular novel that evoked peasants` sympathy. At first glimpse, those serialized novels in NongchonCheongnyeon seem more like short descriptions than novels in modern ages. However, they were intentionally chosen by editors of NongchonCheongnyeon to enlighten peasants. Novels certainly played an important role in terms of rural enlightenment in the 1930`s. They appeared in many different forms of written media, in many different types, according to the authors` intention or readers` demand. An awareness of these ``rural`` novels is required to understand novels in media like NongchonCheongnyeon. People without this awareness may have a limited understanding of these novels.

기획논문 : 1920년대 초 동경 유학생의 “사회”, 사회주의 담론 수용연구 ­동경조선 기독교 청년회 기관지 『현대』를 중심으로-

동경 조선 기독교 청년회의 기관지 『현대』의 창간배경은 1920년대 초사회사조의 흐름과 함께 살펴 볼 필요가 있다. 2·8 독립선언 이후 동경유학생 사회는 개인과 사회의 관계 구성에 있어서, 후자에 더욱 초점을 맞추게 된다. 동경 조선 기독교 청년회는 개인의 수신?수양을 강조한 기관 지 『기독청년』을 1917년 11월부터 1919년 12월까지 발간했으나, 1920년1월부터는 『현대』를 창간해 개인이 사회를 위해 희생해야 하는 존재임을 역설하기에 이른다. 『현대』에서는 편집을 담당한 최승만을 중심으로 ‘사회’를 추상적으로 나마 규정하기 시작했다. 그에 따르면 사회는 ‘애(愛)’를 기반으로 한 동정, 측은 등의 감정이며 상호부조의 단어, ‘린(隣)’으로 번역된다. 국가나 민족을 초월한 거대 공동체로서의 ‘사회’가 상상되고, 국가에 종속된 개인으로서가 아닌 세계 시민으로서의 자리가 고민되기 시작한다. 변희용은 마르크스주의를 이론적 근거로 해 ‘사회주의’에 관한 글을 매호마다 게재했다. 그는 노동문제를 전인류사회의 문제로 인식하며 자본가와 무산자 사이에도 상호부조의 정신이 있어야 함을 주장했다. 이른바 동정의 사회주의이다. 이 시기 사회주의가 유행했음은 이미 주지의 사실인데, 『현대』에서는 변희용을 비롯 초기 사회주의자들의 모습이 고스란히 드러난다. 최승만과 변희용은 각자의 관심사에 따라 ‘사회’와 사회‘주의’에 집중하고 있는데, 두 인물이 사회를 상상하는 방법은 서로 다르지 않다. 그에 따르면 사회는 국가를 초월한, 전인류·계급의 상호부조를 바탕으로 하는 거대 공동체이다. 이것은 두 인물이 모두 일본 민본주의의 대표격인 요시노 사쿠조의 <여명회>에서 활동하고 있었으며, 다이쇼 데모크라시의 영향 하에 있었던 것과 무관하지 않다. 이 시기에는 인본주의를 바탕으로 해 여러 ‘-주의’가 파생되었다. 이에 따라 동시에 학습된 여러 사회 사조들이 교섭하고 있었고, 이후 여러 분파를 형성하게 되는 것이다. 『현대』는 그러한 시대적 요구를 가장 충실하게 반영하고 있는 대표적인 잡지라고 할 수 있다. The periodical, 『Hyeondae』, was created by Tokyo Chosun YMCA. The birth of this periodical had very close connections with the social trend during that time. After the February 8th Independence Declaration, the Korean students studying in Tokyo focused their attention more on society, and the relationship between individuals and society. Tokyo Chosun YMCA published their periodical, 『Gidokcheongnyeon』, from November 1917 to December 1919, which mainly claimed individuals should train mentally and physically. However, when publishing 『Hyeondae』 in January 1920, they started insisting that one should sacrifice themselves for society. Seungman Choi was in charge of editing 『Hyeondae』 and he began defining the meaning of ‘society’ more abstractly. According to him, society stood for emotion such as sympathy or compassion based on love. It was translated into the word ‘Lin’ which means social aid. Society was considered to be a massive community beyond a nation or ethnic group. Individual people were considered to be cosmopolites rather than citizens who belonged to one country. In every issue, Heeyong Byeon wrote his article about ‘socialism’ based on Marxism. He believed a labor problem was all human society`s problem. He stressed that there should be mutual help even between the capitalist class and the proletarian class, so-called sympathetic socialism. It`s a well-known fact that socialism was widespread during that time and we can see early socialists such as Heeyong Byeon through 『Hyeondae』. Based on their own interest, Seungman Choi focused more on ‘society’ and Heeyong Byeon on ‘socialism’. However, there was no big difference distinguishing between their views on society. For them, society transcended a nation. It was a massive social community based on mutual aid between all mankind and classes. Both Seungman Choi and Heeyong Byeon were members of <Yeomyeonghoe>, which was created by the Japanese democracy theorist, Yosino Sakujo, and they were influenced by Taisho democracy. At the time, many ‘-isms’ were derived from democracy. Many thoughts were studied and existed at the same time and later offshoots were created. 『Hyeondae』is a good example which reflected the needs of the time.
