『미학(美學)』 : "미술의 종말" 이후의 미술관 역할과 정책

The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the role and policy of museums of the day. The role of museums keep paces up with times, especially the idea of visual arts of those days. The idea of contemporary arts has changed after the erosion of modernism`s values. We need a proper idea of contemporary arts to define the role of museums of today. We analyze Arthur Danto`s idea of contemporary arts to find a valid concept of arts and museums of the day. His theory of arts not only adequately explains arts of today as the pluralistic scenes of contemporary arts, but also demands changes of art museums. First of all, We analyze the relations between the idea of visual arts and museums of those days. Second, We elucidate Danto`s theory of arts and then draw the idea and role of museums of today from his theory. Thirdly, according to his concepts of contemporary museums, we try to define the policy in connection with the exhibition and collection in museums of today. I conclude that the proper roles of today`s museums can be found through A. Danto`s end of art thesis and their policies can be carried out in the pluralistic way.

한국 대학생의 칭찬 화행 응대에 대한 연구

This article provides the study of compliment responses of the Korean University Students. A compliment responses collected via a discourse completion task(DCT). The DCT was designed six situations in the data, as well as a prompt for a written responses to the compliments. In this article we have three main concerns. The first is to examine how matters of compliments subject are related to responses. Second, examining the participants’ relationships are reflected in speech. Third, examining gender is an important variable of compliment speech. The findings show that, First, there is a difference depending on the subject of compliment. Second, depending on the distance between people are related to responses. The third finding is that addressee’s gender is variables of the compliment responses.

다원주의 시대에서 극사실 회화의 미적 가치와 비평의 문제

오늘날이 다원주의 시대라는 관점에서 한국의 극사실 회화의 미적 가치를 규명해보고, 그것이 1960년대 이후의 미국과 한국에서 각각 하이퍼리얼리즘과 극사실 회화라는 이름으로 진행된 작업과 어떻게 다른지 고찰해보았다. 그리고 오늘날 극사실 회화의 가치평가와 비평의 특징에 대해 논의했다. 이를 바탕으로 오늘날 다원주의 비평 일반의 특징을 규명해보았다. 오늘날의 극사실 회화의 가치는 완벽한 환영을 창조하는 것이 아니라 의도적으로 왜곡된 환영을 만들어내어 작가가 추구한 목표를 달성하는 데 있다. 미국의 하이퍼리얼리즘 작가도 사진과 같은 완벽한 환영을 만들어내는 것을 목표로 작업을 한 것이 아니라 단순한 환영이 줄 수 없는 수사적 효과를 목표로 했다. 이 점에서는 한국의 극사실 회화와 공통점을 지니고 있으나 다양한 상징성을 강조한 한국의 극사실 회화와는 차이가 있다고 할 수 있다. 오늘날의 한국의 극사실 회화는 모더니즘 패러다임에서 극사실 작업을 한 70년대 극사실 화가와 달리 다원주의 패러다임에서 환영 이미지를 만든다. 다시 말하면 오늘날의 극사실 회화 작가는 미술의 거대 서사 속에서 자신의 작품을 위치시키는 것이 목표가 아니라 개별 목표를 성취하기 위해 환영 이미지를 이용한다. 그 환영 이미지의 가치는 정당화할 수 있는 담론이나 서사가 있는지에 따라 결정된다. 오늘날의 극사실 회화는 다른 양식의 작품들과 마찬가지로 작품의 가치와 질이 결정된다고 할 수 있다. 해당 작품의 목표가 무엇이고 그 작가가 고안한 극사실적 장치가 그 목표를 달성하는 데 적절한지의 여부에 따라 그 작품의 가치와 질을 판단할 수 있다. This paper aims to analyse the aesthetic value of Korean Hyperrealism from the point of view of pluralism and to compare it with the 60s American Hyperrealism and the 70s Korean Hyperrealism. I argue that the aesthetic values of Korean Hyperrealism today depend upon not making a perfect illusion, but achieving artist``s goals and effects in which he makes a illusion. It``s important to make a difference between reality and artist``s illusion in Korean Hyperrealism in the age of pluralism. And I try to elucidate the meaning of the criticism and evaluation in the Age of Pluralism. The task of criticism today is to identify the meanings and explain the mode of their embodiment. In other words criticism is just to give the discourse of justification to classify something as art. To evaluate a artwork is to determine the ranking within its artworld in which it plays a role as a artwork. The meaning of the artworld is the historically ordered world of artworks. The 70s artists in Korean Hyperrealism create artistic realities in the paradigm of Modernism, on the other hand Korean Hyperrealism artists today select an illusory devices to achieve their artistic aims in the paradigm of Pluralism.

영화 <완령옥>의 포스트모더니즘적 특성 분석

이 글은 홍콩의 중국반환이라는 시대의 전환기를 이해하기 위한 영화적 실천으로 홍콩의 영화감독 관금붕이 <완령옥>에서 시도한 영화형식의 실험을 분석했다. 이 글은 <완령옥>을 포스트모더니즘 영화 텍스트로 간주했다. 영화에는 ‘상호텍스트성’을 드러내는 메타 내러티브 영화 구조가 사용되었다. 1990년대 홍콩영화의 스타인 장만옥은 1930년대 중국의 무성영화 스타인 완령옥을 연기하고, 홍콩의 영화 스텝은 과거의 무성영화를 리메이크한다. 원로 배우들의 인터뷰 비디오 화면과 거기에 대한 배우들의 반응은 과거와 현재를 연결시킨다. 또한 관금붕은 영화 매체의 고유성을 전면에 내세우는 ‘자기반영성’을 이용한다. 영화에서 자기반영성은 카메라, 영사기, 조명 등영화장치를 화면에 등장시키고, 자연스러운 내러티브의 흐름을 방해하고, 이질적인 담론을 병치시키며, 다큐멘터리와 허구를 혼용하는 일련의 방식들이 포함된다. 영화제작의 과정을 드러내는 것은 내러티브의 흐름을 방해하고 의미 또는 행위의 근원으로서 일관성 있고 자기충족적인 영화 개념의 토대를 손상시킨다. 이와 같이 <완령옥>은 매체 자체의 표현 수단을 전경화시켜 관객들에게 과거와 현재 그리고 역사와 재현, 창작과 비평사이의 관계를 점검할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 이를 통해 <완령옥>은 관객들에게 지나간 역사적 사실에 대해 이야기하기 보다는 우리는 어떻게 역사에 대해 알게 되는가에 대한 논의에 관객을 참여시킨다. This study analyzed the cinematic experiment in Stanley Kwan``s Actress to understand the context of Hong Kong`` return to China. This essay regards Actress as a postmodern text. Actres semploys an intertextual form that involves the film``s meta-narrative-cinematic structure. MaggieCheung, a film star of the 1990s, impersonates Ruan Lingyu, a silent-screen star of the 1993s;Hong Kong film crew reconstructs the classic film’s footage; and documentary-like interviews with the veteran actors and commentaries link past and present. The concept of self-reflexivity refers to the process by which texts foreground their own production, their authorship, theirintertextual influences, their intertexual process, or their reception. Moreover, self-reflexivity in cinema might well include the designation of the apparatus (camera, monitors, switches); the disruption of the narrative flow; the juxtaposing of heterogeneous slices of discourses; and the mixing of documentary and fictive modes. Exposure of the filmmaking process disrupts the narrative flow and undermines the notion of a coherent and self-sufficient subject as the source of meaning or action. The presence of cameras, monitors, and technicians erases theusual concealment of the mechanism, dissolving the line between cinematic representation and the articulation of representation. In thus revealing its own means of expression, the process enables viewers to examine the relation between past and present, between history and representation, between creation and criticism. Actress makes viewers participate in discussions about how to realize the history rather than the history as past .

The purposes of this study were to determine an algorithm for estimating agricultural water demand of remote sites using remote sensing data and to apply it to Hwanghae South Province and estimate the present and potential water demand for agriculture use. 3 Landsat-5 TM images and DEM(100×100mm) were used for classification of the existing land cover and land suitability analysis for paddy fields. Also, 20 years meteorological data of North Korea were used for calculating the potential evapotranspiration by Blaney-Criddle eq. and net water demand. The results showed that the present and potential agricultural water demand and the developable area for paddy fields is about 89,300㏊.

5 alpha-reductase deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the SRD5A2-gene, resulting in absent or diminished dihydrotestosterone (DHT) formation and, hence, in an underdevelopment of the external genitalia in patients with 46,XY karyotype. Recently we experienced a 17 years old patient with chief complaint of primary amenorrhea, who showed 46,XY karyotype, enlarged clitoris, virilization, undeveloped breast and palpable bilateral inguinal mass. We diagnosed it as 5 alpha-reductase deficiency and removed the bilateral gonads, so we report it with brief review of literature.
