SOME INEQUALITIES FOR THE HARMONIC TOPOLOGICAL INDEX

MILOVANOVIC, E.I.,MATEJIC, M.M.,MILOVANOVIC, I.Z. The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2018 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.36 No.3

Let G be a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges, with a sequence of vertex degrees $d_1{\geq}d_2{\geq}{\cdots}{\geq}d_n$ > 0. A vertex-degree topological index, referred to as harmonic index, is defined as $H={\sum{_{i{\sim}j}}{\frac{2}{d_i+d_j}}$, where i ~ j denotes the adjacency of vertices i and j. Lower and upper bounds of the index H are obtained.

      • Unidirectional High-Power DC-DC Converter Utilizing Scott Transformer Connection

        Stefan Milovanovic,Dra?en Duji? 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5

This paper proposes unidirectional, isolated, DC-DC converter intended to act as an interface between high/medium voltage bipolar DC grid (or two separate DC grids) and another DC grid of an arbitrary voltage level. With the aim of achieving galvanic isolation, along with voltage matching, Scott transformer connection is employed. Furthermore, medium frequency operation of the isolation stage is considered, leading to an increase in converter’s power density. The proposed converter combines two series connected full-bridge modular multilevel converters, within the high/medium voltage stage, and conventional three-phase diode rectifier, within the low voltage stage, by means of the Scott transformer connection. In order to present basic operating principles and evaluate the proposed converter performance, simulation results of 40kV/1.5kV, 10MW system are presented throughout this paper.

Parameters of Calcium Metabolism Fluctuated during Initiation or Changing of Antipsychotic Drugs

        Dragan R. Milovanovic,Marijana Stanojevic Pirkovic,Snezana Zivancevic Simonovic,Milovan Matovic,Slavica Djukic Dejanovic,Slobodan M. Jankovic,Dragan Ravanic,Milan Petronijevic,Dragana Ignjatovic Risti 대한신경정신의학회 2016 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.13 No.1

ObjectiveaaSerum parameters of calcium homeostasis were measured based on previously published evidence linking osteoporotic fractures and/or bone/mineral loss with antipsychotics. MethodsaaProspective, four-week, time-series trial was conducted and study population consisted of patients of both genders, aged 35-85 years, admitted within the routine practice, with acute psychotic symptoms, to whom an antipsychotic drug was either introduced or substituted. Serial measurements of serum calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, 25(OH)D, parathyroid hormone, calcitonin, osteocalcin and C-telopeptide were made from patient venous blood samples. ResultsaaCalcium serum concentrations significantly decreased from baseline to the fourth week (2.42±0.12 vs. 2.33±0.16 mmol/L, p=0.022, n=25). The mean of all calcemia changes from the baseline was -2.6±5.7% (-24.1 to 7.7) with more decreases than increases (78 vs. 49, p=0.010) and more patents having negative sum of calcemia changes from baseline (n=28) than positive ones (n=10) (p=0.004). There were simultaneous falls of calcium and magnesium from baseline (63/15 vs. 23/26, p<0.001; OR=4.75, 95% CI 2.14–10.51), phosphorous (45/33 vs. 9/40, p<0.001; 6.06, 2.59–14.20) and 25(OH)D concentrations (57/21 vs. 13/35, p<0.001; 7.31, 3.25–16.42), respectively. Calcemia positively correlated with magnesemia, phosphatemia and 25(OH)D values. Parathyroid hormone and C-telopeptide showed only subtle oscillations of their absolute concentrations or changes from baseline; calcitonin and osteocalcin did not change. Adjustment of final calcemia trend (depletion/accumulation) for relevant risk factors, generally, did not change the results. ConclusionaaIn patients with psychotic disorders and several risks for bone metabolism disturbances antipsychotic treatment was associated with the decrease of calcemia and changes in levels of the associated ions.

SOME INEQUALITIES FOR GENERAL SUM-CONNECTIVITY INDEX

MATEJIC, M.M.,MILOVANOVIC, I.Z.,MILOVANOVIC, E.I. The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2020 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.38 No.1

Let G be a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges. Denote by d1 ≥ d2 ≥ ⋯ ≥ dn > 0 and d(e1) ≥ d(e2) ≥ ⋯ ≥ d(em) sequences of vertex and edge degrees, respectively. If vertices vi and vj are adjacent, we write i ~ j. The general sum-connectivity index is defined as 𝒳α(G) = ∑i~j(di + dj)α, where α is an arbitrary real number. Firstly, we determine a relation between 𝒳α(G) and 𝒳α-1(G). Then we use it to obtain some new bounds for 𝒳α(G).

User-centered Design of m-Learning System: Moodle On The Go

Minovic, Miroslav,Stavljanin, Velimir,Milovanovic, Milos,Starcevic, Dusan Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Eng 2010 Journal of Computing Science and Engineering Vol.4 No.1

In order to truly integrate e-Learning system into regular curriculum at a university, mobile access to Learning Management Systems has to be enabled. Mobile devices have the potential to be integrated into the classroom, because they contain unique characteristics such as portability, social interactivity, context sensitivity, connectivity and individuality. Adoption of Learning Management Systems by students is still on the low rate, mostly because of poor usability of existing e-Learning systems. Our initial research has confirmed this hypothesis. Usability issue is rising to the higher level on the mobile platform, because of the mobile devices' limited screen size, input interfaces and bandwidth, and also because of the context of use. Our second hypothesis was that it is wrong to consider a mobile device as a surrogate for desktop or laptop personal computer (PC). By just adopting the existing Learning Management System on mobile devices with adaptive technologies such as Google proxy, we do not acquire the satisfactory results. Usability can prove to be even lower compared to desktop application. One possible solution to the problem could be development of rich client applications for today's mobile devices that would raise the usability to a higher level. We developed a PocketPC prototype application by using user-centered design principles, which we presented as a third alternative in usability research conducted among university students. Results gathered in such a way have confirmed that development of e-Learning system, in order to be widely accepted by students, needs to have the user(student) in the center of development process.

Beneficial Effects of Polyphenol-Rich Chokeberry Juice Consumption on Blood Pressure Level and Lipid Status in Hypertensive Subjects

        Nevena Kardum,Branislav Milovanovic,Katarina Savikin,Gordana Zdunic,Slavica Mutavdzin,Tatjana Gligorijevic,Slavica Spasic 한국식품영양과학회 2015 Journal of medicinal food Vol.18 No.11

Epidemiological studies have shown a positive association between intake of foods rich in antioxidants and lower incidence of cardiovascular disease development. Polyphenols are considered the most abundant and important dietaryantioxidants. The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of polyphenol-rich chokeberry juice consumption on 24-h ambulatory monitored blood pressure (BP) level in subjects with no pharmacologically treated high normal BP or grade I hypertension. Twenty-three subjects (12 men and 11 women) aged 33–67 were enrolled and instructed to consume 200mL of juice daily for 4 weeks. Participants were divided in two groups, based on prevalence of sympathetic or parasympatheticactivity. Measurements of biochemical parameters and heart rate variability analysis were also applied. At the end of the intervention period, average 24-h and awake systolic and diastolic BP were significantly decreased (P < .05). This was more pronounced in the group with prevalence of sympathetic activity. Significant reduction in triglyceride level (P < .05) and a reducing effect on total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were also found. Obtained results indicate a positive impact of regular chokeberry juice consumption on BP and lipid status in pharmacologically untreated hypertensive subjects.

Effects of Alpha-Lipoic Acid Supplementation on Plasma Adiponectin Levels and Some Metabolic Risk Factors in Patients with Schizophrenia

        Bojana Vidovic,SrCan Milovanovic,Aleksandra Stefanovic,Jelena Kotur-Stevuljevic,Marija Takic,Jasmina Debeljak-Marta cic,Maja Pantovic,Bri zita ÐorCevic 한국식품영양과학회 2017 Journal of medicinal food Vol.20 No.1

Adiponectin is an adipocyte-derived plasma protein with insulin-sensitizing and anti-inflammatory properties and is suggested to be a biomarker of metabolic disturbances. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) on plasma adiponectin and some metabolic risk factors in patients with schizophrenia. The plasma adipokine levels (adiponectin and leptin), routine biochemical and anthropometric parameters, markers of oxidative stress, and the serum phospholipid fatty acid profile in eighteen schizophrenic patients at baseline, in the middle, and at the end of a 3-month long supplementation period with ALA (500 mg daily) were determined. A significant increase in the plasma adiponectin concentrations, as well as a decrease in fasting glucose and aspartate aminotransferase activity (AST), was found. Baseline AST activity was independently correlated with the adiponectin concentrations. Our data show that ALA can improve plasma adiponectin levels and may play a potential role in the treatment of metabolic risk factor in patients with schizophrenia. Future randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these preliminary investigations.
