In the determination of control laws of semi-active suspension system, optimal control theory is applied, which used in the design of fully active suspension system and in the performance index sense. Optimal semi-active control laws are designed, and the computer program is developed for estimation of performance in the time and frequency domain. It is certified that in the semi-active control system, it is desirable to minimize the spring constant and damping coefficient as possible in the given constraints. The effect of performance improvement which is almost equal to fully active type is obtained.

To investigate the softening characteristics of persimmonfruit, textural changes at temperature of 25℃, 35℃ and 45℃, and the soaking effect at 30℃, 50℃ and 70℃ were estimated. And also, content and composition of the cell wall polysaccharides, 4NKOH soluble hemicellulosic fraction(HF?), 0~3N KOH soluble hemicellulosic fraction(HF?), ionically associated pectin(IAP), covalently bounded pectin(CBP) and cellulosic fraction(CF), and polygalacturonase(PG), cell wall polysaccharides degradated crude enzyme(CEW) were studied. The hardness was lowest at 25℃, especially adhesiveness and gumminess was contrary to each other in the temperature. In the higher temperature, 35~45℃, the softening phenomenon was inhibited by degrees, but adhesiveness and gumminess showed high on the 6th days at 35℃. The softening was more promoted by soaking at 30℃, and showed higher adhesiveness. In the higher soaking temperature of 50℃ to 70℃, the adhesiveness and the gumminess was increased, but the softening was getting inhibited. The persimmon contained lower pectic polysaccharides, but PG activity was high(720μmol product/100g f.w.). IAP and CBP was degradated about 60% by the CWE, and the degradation ratio of the pectic polysaccharides was uronic acid 43~50%, hexose 59~61%. It was suggested that the severe softening phenomenon of persimmon involoved the degradation of CBP-bound hemicellulosic fraction.

This study attempts to investigate whether 11 weeks' rhythmic exercise-three times a week, intensity at 50~70%HRmax-affects body composition, health-related fitness, and respiratory function in the elderly women. As for body composition, in excess body fat group/over 30% body fat), weight and %body fat were reduced, but, there was no significant difference, Under body fat group/under 30%body fat) showed a tendency to reduce in weight and %body fat significantly. As for health-related fitness, excess body fat group/over 30% body fat) showed a increase in the muscular strength of the lower limbs, but there were no significant differences in the muscular strength of the upper limbs. flexibility, quickness, balance, and endurance. However, the muscular strength of the lower(upper) limbs, quickness, and balance were significantly reduced in under body fat group. As for pulmonary ventilation in under body fat group, FVC and %FVC increased but there was no significant difference. In contrast, Fev1 was significantly increased. In conclusion, regularly rhythmic exercise may improve body composition and health-related fitness. Moreover, it could be one of the best ways for the elder to live actively.

Laser texturing technology produces shallow dimples that serve as reservoirs for fluid media and trap the wear debris on material faces, so increase the lubrication efficiency of the materials. STD6l steel specimen has been fabricated by using laser texturing method to investigate friction characteristics through gap, depth and diameter. Marking laser system for laser texture showed reasonable results to modify dimple depth and size of steel. On specific lubricant condition. laser textured materials kept longer low friction characteristic than non treated material. After laser texturing, polishing process is positively necessary to remove the spatters attached on the surface. When used on well-controlled dimple surface. the test process results in substantial reductions in friction.

Increasingly aggressive chemotherapy regimens, advances in transplantation technology, and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome have resulted in a growing number of immunocompromised patients. Infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in this population. One of the most ominous complications is the development of typhlitis in this immunocompromised patients. Treatment of this process is controversial, and no consensus has emerged. We report a case of typhlitis who complicated agranulocytosis after exposure to drugs to treat $quot;flu$quot; like illness and recovered completely after two operations of appendectomy and ileocolectomy. Reviewing articles and this case, the favorable outcome seemed to be related to following three factors recognition of the acute surgical abdomen by abdominal CT scan, a prompt return of normal circulating white cells by the use of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor and discontinuation of causative drugs, and an appropriately timed surgical intervention.
Development of Application Technique of Aluminum Sandwich Sheets for Automotive Hood

Objective of this study was to develop basic techniques in order to apply aluminum sandwich sheets for an automotive hood part. The aluminum sandwich sheet is the material fabricated by adhering two aluminum skins to one polypropylene core. When it has the same bending stiffness as a steel sheet, it is 65% lighter than the steel sheet and 30% lighter than an aluminum alloy sheet. Therefore, it is notified exclusively as good substitutive materials for a steel body to improve the fuel efficiency. Through aluminum sandwich sheet, however, it has relatively lower formability than that of the steel sheet for automotive application. In this study, we developed application techniques of the aluminum sandwich sheet for automotive hood. The various formability evaluations were carried out in order to secure the fundamental data for the measurement of sheet metal forming and the establishment of optimum application conditions of the sandwich sheet. From these results, it was found that the sandwich sheet could reduce the weight and maintain the flexural rigidity simultaneously comparing to the steel sheet.

N/A Methods: From December 1984 to June 1991, 21 HBsAg positive and 248 HBsAg negative patients underwent living renal transplantation in Kosin Medical College. During follow up period of a mean 32.7 months in HHsAg positive group and 33.0 months in HBsAg negative group, HBsAg, HBsAb and anti HBc examinations were done by radioimmunoasssy and biochemical liver function tests were performed monthly. The liver function abnormality was diagnosed when aminotransferase values were above the normal range(50 I.U./L)in at least two consecutive determinations. The immunosupressant hepatic toxicity was taken into account when amino transferase elevation promptly returned to normal after reducing the drug dosage and was excluded in this study. Differences between HRsAg positive and negative patients were tested for statistical significance by the chi square test. Results: 1) There was no significant difference in patient and graft survival of HBsAg positive and HBsAg negative group and in the incidence of acute rejection in bath groups. 2) The significantly higher incidence of hepatic dysfunction in HBsAg positive group than HBsAg negative group was noted. Excluding chronic active hepatitis and liver cirrhosis from transplantation in HBsAg positive patients, no notable relation between pre-tansplantation histological changes and the patients and graft survival during follow up period of 32.7 months was found. 3) There was slightly better survival rate in HBsAg positive transplants than HBsAg positive hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: The hepatitis B antigenemia is not an absolute contraindication to renal transplantation, We recommend a pre transplantation liver biopsy in HBsAg positive patients, and if the histological findings suggest a benign form of liver disease, we would have no hesitation in providing a renal transplant in spite of an HBsAg positive status. To reduce the mortality from hepatic failure, the doses of immunosuppressive drugs should be lowered or with- drawn in patients who exhibit severe hepatic dysfunction.
