Manufacture and Characterization of hemp-Acrodur Biocomposites: Variation of Process Parameters
Mohammad S Islam,Menghe Miao 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.8
In this study, hemp fibre reinforced Acrodur resin biocomposites were manufactured using nonwoven hemp fibremats by varying a range of processing parameters such as Acrodur solution to dispersion ratio, relative humidity, curing time, and temperature. Dry fibre mats using Acrodur solution to dispersion ratio of 3:1 at a temperature of 160 oC and processingtime of 20 minutes were found to be optimum condition for the manufacture of the biocomposites. These optimumparameters gave the best combination of specific tensile strength (26.4 MPa-cm3/g) and specific Young’s modulus (4.4 GPacm3/g) with a density of 0.94 g/cm3. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of the optimised biocomposites showedsimilarthermal stability when compared with pristine fibres. Contact angle measurements of the optimised biocomposites showedincreased hydrophobicity of the biocomposites than those of the pristine fibres. From the water immersion test, the path ofwicking of water molecules into the biocomposites was believed to be rather straight than tortuous and A 4-week waterimmersion test of the optimised biocomposites conceded about 43.5 % loss of tensile strength and 57.1 % loss of Young’smodulus which was believed to be due to wicking of the water molecules into the fibre of the biocomposites in a straight pathrather than a tortuous path.

The music with the times, evolved from analogous tape music to digital music. New authoring tools, interfaces, and applications make us to produce high quality music using cheap equipments. Inspired by this concept, we design an classical chinese style-instrument with the audio-visual interactive function. It enables a user to compose music and to see a vivid picture at the same time.
Synthesis and Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of Black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 Monoliths

Black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 monoliths were successfully synthesized by a combined route including sol–gel method with polystyrene spheres as template followed by calcination at high temperature in the presence of oxygen. As-synthesized samples were then treated in hydrogen atmosphere at 500℃ for 6 h to obtain black Porous Zr-doped TiO2 monoliths. This as-synthesized black porous Zr-doped TiO2 composite showed relatively narrow bandgap compared to the pure anatase phase of TiO2, which may have its origin from the contributions from the Zr impurity and oxygen vacancies. The photocatalytic activity of the black porous Zr-doped TiO2 monolith was examined by carrying out the dye degradation on Rhodamine B under visible irradiation. Our experimental results indicate that black porous 0.9% Zr-doped TiO2 sample exhibits high photocatalytic activity with the photodecomposition of 95.25% under visible irradiation for 120 min.

In this study, traditional culture method and 16S rRNA gene analysis were applied to reveal the composition and diversity of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) of fermented cow milk, huruud and urum from Baotou and Bayannur of midwestern Inner Mongolia. Also, the quantitative results of dominant LAB species in three different types of dairy products from Baotou and Bayannur were gained by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (q-PCR) technology. Two hundred and two LAB strains isolated from sixty-six samples were identified and classified into four genera, namely Enterococcus, Lactococcus, Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, and twenty-one species and subspecies. From these isolates, Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis (32.18%), Lactobacillus plantarum (12.38%) and Leuconosto mesenteroides (11.39%) were considered as the dominated LAB species under the condition of cultivating in MRS and M17 medium. And the q-PCR results revealed that the number of dominant species varied from samples to samples and from region to region. This study clearly shows the composition and diversity of LAB existing in fermented cow milk, huruud and urum, which could be considered as valuable resources for LAB isolation and further probiotic selection.
