Myiasis is the infestation of live human and vertebrate animal with dipterous larvae which feed on the host’s dead or living tissue. The term myiasis is derived from Latin word ‘muia’ which means fly and ‘iasis’ means disease. It is a pathology caused by the larvae in human and animal tissue that evolve to a parasite. It is comparatively more often seen in South East Asian countries in comparison with western countries due to their subtropical climate which is favorable for the growth of flies. This paper presents a rare case of Oral myiasis in anterior maxillary region of 39 year old male, caused by larvae (maggots). The treatment consisted of surgical debridment of the wound.

A negative electrode is constructed based on MnSn(OH)6 nanocubes prepared by a simple precipitation method at roomtemperature for supercapacitor application. The as-prepared material was structurally and morphologically characterizedwith the help of XRD, FT-IR, Raman, XPS, FESEM, and HRTEM analyses. The uniform structure and fine edge morphologywith high conductivity due to oxygen vacancies promote the redox reaction, which results in high pseudocapacitance. Theelectrochemical performance is investigated through a three-electrode cell system in a negative potential window (− 1.0 to0.0 V). A maximum specific capacitance of 209 F/g is calculated at a specific current of 1 A/g. The electrodes also exhibitexcellent cycling stability (79% specific capacitance retention after 3000 consecutive GCD cycles).

The recent advancement in new generation fluorinated pyrethroids (e.g., transfluthrin, metofluthrin etc.), the use of semi-volatile vapour phase insecticides for control of mosquitoes and other domestic pests rises. Enabling the examination of the vapour toxicity profiles of these molecules and many other similar new generation molecules will provide new avenues for researchers for understanding the bio-potency in the spatial killing of pests. Hence, it is critical to establish a well-controlled portable vapour-phase bioassay method that can provide the desired precision, accuracy, linearity and robustness. In this respect, we have designed a vapour-toxicity apparatus comprising glass assemblies and developed a novel bioassay method. We found that KT 50 and percentage knockdown at 60 min reflect the concentration dependency. This validates and confirms that the method is sensitive enough to distinguish between concentrations and suitable for concentration-response experiments. We found that KT 50 and percentage knockdown at 60 min at a given concentration does not differ significantly between experiments. Hence, the method has repeatability and precision. Percentage mortality and total KT 50 against Culex quinquefasciatus shows that percentage mortality increases and KT 50 decreases linearly with the increasing concentration. This method provides an easy to operate tool to test the vapour toxicity profiles of any vapour phase insecticide molecules against mosquitoes and flying insects.

Background/Aims Data on normal stool form and frequency, which are important for defining constipation, are scanty; hence, we studied these in an eastern Indian population. Methods One thousand and two hundred apparently healthy asymptomatic subjects were evaluated for predominant stool form (Bristol chart with descriptor) and frequency. Data on demographic and life-style (diet and physical activity) were collected. Results Of 1,200 subjects (age 42 ± 14.5 years, 711, 59% male), most passed predominantly Bristol type IV stool (699 [58.2%]; other forms were: type I (23 [1.9%]), type II (38 [3.2%]), type III (99 [8.2%]), type V (73 [6%]), type VI (177 [14.7%]), type VII (7 [0.6%]) and an irregular combination (84 [7%]). Weekly stool frequency was 12.1 ± 4.7 (median 14, range 2-42). Less than 3 stools/week was noted in 32/1,200 (2.6%). Female subjects (n = 489) passed stools less frequently than males (n = 711) (11.1 ± 5.6/week vs. 12.8 ± 3.8/week, P< 0.001) and tended to pass harder forms (type I: 17, type II: 20, type III: 39 vs. 6, 18 and 60, respectively, P = 0.061). Vegetarians (n = 252) and physically active (n = 379) subjects tended to pass stool more frequently than occasional (n = 553) and regular non-vegetarian (n = 395) (11.8 ± 4.5 and 12.8 ± 4.7 vs. 11.3 ± 4.7; P < 0.05) and sedentary (n = 464) and intermediately active (n = 357) subjects (13.4 ± 4.0 and 12.3 ± 4.5 vs. 10.9 ± 5.1, P = 0.080) in different age groups, respectively. Older age was associated with less frequent stool, particularly among female population. Female gender and age > 35 years were significant on multivariate analysis. Conclusions Median stool frequency in the studied population was 14/week (range 2-42) and predominant form was Bristol type IV. Older age was associated with lesser stool frequency, particularly among female subjects. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2013; 19:374-380)
Anticorrosion Performance of FCAW Cladding with Regard to the Influence of Heat Input
Manas Kumar Saha,Ajit Mondal,Ritesh Hazra,Santanu Das 대한용접·접합학회 2018 대한용접·접합학회지 Vol.36 No.5
Heat input plays a significant role in flux cored arc welding (FCAW) for producing quality welding. Weld cladding improves corrosion resistance and other mechanical properties. Selection of appropriate heat input is required to get optimum quality of the cladding. In this experiment, FCAW cladding of duplex stainless steel is done on low alloy steel under CO₂ gas shield. Three sets of heat input are chosen for experimentation in which each level of heat input comprised of three sets of current and voltage in such a way that the heat input level remained nearly constant. The output parameters like corrosion rate is measured and microstructures are evaluated. The relationship between heat input and corrosion rate is evaluated by means of polynomial regression analysis and the results matched with proposed model with small variations. The results showed that corrosion rate increases with increase in heat input within the experimental domain. Minimum corrosion rate is obtained in the present investigation at 0.49 kJ/mm heat input with 170A weld current, 27V weld voltage and 7.5 mm/s weld torch travel speed. For a particular heat input, corrosion rate is found to vary with different weld current. Microstructure of duplex stainless steel cladding shows presence of austenite phase, and ferrite phase. For an increase in heat input, the microstructure of clad part sacrifices more amount of ferrite phase that exhibits more amount of corrosion.
Lichenoid Reaction - A Diagnostic Dilemma
Manas Bajpai 대한예방치과학회 2013 International Journal of Clinical Preventive Denti Vol.9 No.1
Oral lichenoid reactions are considered as a variant of Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) may be regarded as a disease by itself or as an exacerbation of an existing OLP, by the presence of medication and dental materials. The management of OLP and the Various OLLs may be different. Therefore, accurate diagnosis should be aimed at; here we are presenting a case of a white lesion in a fifty year old male patient shows histopathological features similar to with OLP. The diagnosis was made on the ground of the drug association.
Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Urinary Bladder Managed by Laparoscopic Partial Cystectomy

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the urinary bladder is a rare mesenchymal tumor with uncertain malignant potential. It often mimics soft tissue sarcomas both clinically and radiologically. Surgical resection in the form of partial cystectomy or transurethral resection remains the mainstay of treatment. Herein we report the case of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in a young girl, which was managed by laparoscopic partial cystectomy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of laparoscopic management of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the urinary bladder.

Ghost cell is a dead cell in which the cell outline remains is visible, but whose nucleus and cytoplasmic structures are not stainable Formerly, ghost cell have been considered to represent a form of true or aberrant keratinization simple cell degeneration or enamel matrix but the true nature of these cells has not been determined. Ghost cell maybe due to abnormal keratinization, related to ischemia, coagulative necrosis. Calcification may occur in some of the ghost cell and represent dystrophic calcification the aim of this paper is an attempt to describe in detail about the origin, microscopic appearance and histopathologic features of ghost cells.
