This work was designed to study the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide photolysis on the degradation ofmalathion pesticide in an aqueous medium. Experiments were performed in a static reactor with a lowpressuremercury vapor lamp at initial organophosphorus concentrations of 10 3. The first resultobtained showed that the system H2O2/UV can completely oxidize the organophosphorus compound. The oxidation yields obtained using the static reactor depended on the reaction time, the initialconcentration of H2O2, and the initial pH solution. However, the oxidation efficiency may be reduced bythe presence of radical traps in the reaction medium. Moreover, a model of the hydrogen peroxidephotocatalysis is also presented in this paper. The use of experimental design and in particular theresponse surface methodology (RSM) in addition to the full factorial design allowed the determination ofthe influence of the simultaneous effects and interaction of the operating parameters on the performanceof the photo degradation Demim et al. Ecol. Eng. 57 (2013) 302; Ecol. Eng. 61 (2013) 426; Boudjema et al. Desalin. Water Treat. 1065. 10.1080/19443994.2015.449. Indeed, the operating parameters studied inthis research work were the initial concentration of malathion, H2O2 catalyst volume and the pH of thesolution. The results found showed that the application of the RSM allowed describing correctly theeffect of these three operating parameters on the treatment efficacy. The optimal parameter valuesgiving a maximum yield (100%) were determined.

Objective: Advances in ovarian cancer cytoreductive surgery have enabled more extensive procedures to achieve maximal cytoreduction but with a consequent increase in postoperative morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to evaluate factors for postoperative morbidity after extensive cytoreductive surgery for primary epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), particularly those which may be modifiable. Methods: Electronic databases were searched. Meta-analysis was conducted using random- effects models. Results: Fifteen relevant studies, involving 15,325 ovarian cancer patients, were included in this review. Severe 30-day postoperative complications occurred in 2,357 (15.4%) patients. The postoperative mortality rate was 1.92%. Meta-analysis demonstrated that patient with following risk factors; age (p<0.001), Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group score >0 (p=0.001), albumin level <3.5 g/dL (p<0.001), presence of ascites on CT scan (p=0.013), stage IV disease (p<0.001) and extensive surgical procedure (p<0.001) has a significantly increase risk of developing postoperative complications. Surgical procedures including peritonectomy (p=0.012), splenectomy (p<0.001) and colon surgery (p<0.001) were significant predictors for postoperative complications. Moreover, we found that patients who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval debulking surgery (NACT-IDS) had a lower risk of developing severe complications compared to those who underwent primary debulking surgery (PDS) (p<0.001). Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that patient performance status and hypoalbuminemia were the only significant adjustable preoperative risk factors associated with postoperative complications. Patients who underwent NACT-IDS had a lower risk of developing severe complications compared to PDS.
Nutritional Quality of Legumes, and Their Role in Cardiometabolic Risk Prevention: A Review
Malika Bouchenak,Myriem Lamri-Senhadji 한국식품영양과학회 2013 Journal of medicinal food Vol.16 No.3
Legumes (including alfalfa, clover, lupins, green beans and peas, peanuts, soybeans, dry beans, broad beans, dry peas, chickpeas, and lentils) represent an important component of the human diet in several areas of the world, especially in the developing countries, where they complement the lack of proteins from cereals, roots, and tubers. In some regions of the world, legume seeds are the only protein supply in the diet. The health benefits of legume consumption have received rising interest from researchers, and their consumption and production extends worldwide. Among European countries, higher legume consumption is observed around the Mediterranean, with per capita daily consumption between 8 and 23 g, while in Northern Europe, the daily consumption is less than 5 g per capita. The physiological effects of different legumes vary significantly. These differences may result from the polysaccharides composition, in particular, the quantity and variety of dietary fibers and starch, protein make-up, and variability in phytochemical content. The majority of legumes contain phytochemicals: bioactive compounds, including enzyme inhibitors, phytohemagglutinins (lectins), phytoestrogens, oligosaccharides, saponins, and phenolic compounds, which play metabolic roles in humans who frequently consume these foods. Dietary intake of phytochemicals may provide health benefits, protecting against numerous diseases or disorders, such as coronary heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and inflammation. The synergistic or antagonistic effects of these phytochemical mixtures from food legumes, their interaction with other components of the diet, and the mechanism of their action have remained a challenge with regard to understanding the role of phytochemicals in health and diseases. Their mitigating effects and the mechanism of their action need to be further addressed if we are to understand the role of phytochemicals in health and diseases. This review provides an overview of the nutritional quality of legumes and their potential contribution in cardiometabolic risk prevention.
Egocentric Vision for Human Activity Recognition Using Deep Learning
Malika Douache,Badra Nawal Benmoussat 한국정보처리학회 2023 Journal of information processing systems Vol.19 No.6
The topic of this paper is the recognition of human activities using egocentric vision, particularly captured bybody-worn cameras, which could be helpful for video surveillance, automatic search and video indexing. Thisbeing the case, it could also be helpful in assistance to elderly and frail persons for revolutionizing andimproving their lives. The process throws up the task of human activities recognition remaining problematic, because of the important variations, where it is realized through the use of an external device, similar to a robot,as a personal assistant. The inferred information is used both online to assist the person, and offline to supportthe personal assistant. With our proposed method being robust against the various factors of variability problemin action executions, the major purpose of this paper is to perform an efficient and simple recognition methodfrom egocentric camera data only using convolutional neural network and deep learning. In terms of accuracyimprovement, simulation results outperform the current state of the art by a significant margin of 61% whenusing egocentric camera data only, more than 44% when using egocentric camera and several stationarycameras data and more than 12% when using both inertial measurement unit (IMU) and egocentric camera data.

As NFT technology and the metaverse continue to gain momentum, fashion brands are venturing into these innovative spaces to expand their reach and enhance customer interaction. This study investigates the emerging market of fashion NFTs and the factors influencing consumer willingness to pay for digital goods. By examining aesthetics, scarcity, brand image, and willingness to pay, the research seeks to provide insights into evolving consumer behavior. A qualitative approach will be used to uncover patterns and relationships shaping consumer preferences in the context of fashion and NFTs.We expect results could help gain insights into consumer behavior related to fashion NFTs in the metaverse.
