No-Reference Image Quality Assessment based on Quality Awareness Feature and Multi-task Training
Lijing Lai,Jun Chu,Lu Leng 한국멀티미디어학회 2022 The journal of multimedia information system Vol.9 No.2
The existing image quality assessment (IQA) datasets have a small number of samples. Some methods based on transfer learning or data augmentation cannot make good use of image quality-related features. A No Reference (NR)-IQA method based on multi-task training and quality awareness is proposed. First, single or multiple distortion types and levels are imposed on the original image, and different strategies are used to augment different types of distortion datasets. With the idea of weak supervision, we use the Full Reference (FR)-IQA methods to obtain the pseudo-score label of the generated image. Then, we combine the classification information of the distortion type, level, and the information of the image quality score. The ResNet50 network is trained in the pre-train stage on the augmented dataset to obtain more quality-aware pre-training weights. Finally, the fine-tuning stage training is performed on the target IQA dataset using the quality-aware weights to predicate the final prediction score. Various experiments designed on the synthetic distortions and authentic distortions datasets (LIVE, CSIQ, TID2013, LIVEC, KonIQ-10K) prove that the proposed method can utilize the image quality-related features better than the method using only single-task training. The extracted quality-aware features improve the accuracy of the model.

The effect of long-term thermal exposure at 700 °C on the microstructure and mechanical behavior of as-castCrMnFeCoNiAl0.25was investigated. Results indicated that microscopically, the as-cast alloy was not an equilibrium alloyto maintain a single FCC structure after long-term aging. The strip-like sigma phase (Cr-rich σ phase) and B2 phase (NiAl)precipitated in the FCC matrix and coarsened when the exposure time was increased. Due to the increased volume fractionand the strengthening of these precipitates, the yield strength and Vickers hardness increased considerably with increasingthe thermal exposure time up to 2000 h. The yield strength increased from 272 MPa for the as-cast alloy to 993 MPa for thealloy exposed for 2000 h. The hardness increased up to 322 Hv for the alloy exposed for 2000 h. However, the yield strengthdecreased to 664 MPa for the alloy exposed for 4000 h, owing to the coarsening of precipitates. The alloy maintained a goodcompressive plasticity after long-term aging.
Best-Effort Interference Alignment for K Users Quasi-Static MIMO Interference Channels
( Lijing Jiang ),( Rongfang Song ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.6
Interference alignment (IA) has been a powerful approach to achieve the maximum degree of freedom (DoF) for K users multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) interference channels. However, due to the feasibility constraint, aligning all the interference signals at each receiver is impractical for large K without symbol extension. In this paper, we propose two best-effort interference alignment (BEIA) schemes that the network selects the maximum number of interfering transmitters to align their signals given the feasibility conditions when each transmitter-receiver pair has a constant number of data streams. Besides, in case of not all interfering signals aligned at each receiver, an upper bound of the average throughput is derived. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes have superiority over the traditional methods, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) and cluster IA(CIA), in low and moderate signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region in terms of average user throughput. In addition, the proposed max-min relative interference distance alignment scheme outperforms the proposed scheme of equal interfering transmitters number alignment in terms of both average user throughput and minimum user throughput.
Simotang Alleviates the Gastrointestinal Side Effects of Chemotherapy by Altering Gut Microbiota

Simotang oral liquid (SMT) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consisting of four natural plants and is used to alleviate gastrointestinal side effects after chemotherapy and functional dyspepsia (FD). However, the mechanism by which SMT helps cure these gastrointestinal diseases is still unknown. Here, we discovered that SMT could alleviate gastrointestinal side effects after chemotherapy by altering gut microbiota. C57BL/6J mice were treated with cisplatin (DDP) and SMT, and biological samples were collected. Pathological changes in the small intestine were observed, and the intestinal injury score was assessed. The expression levels of the inflammatory factors IL-1β and IL-6 and the adhesive factors Occludin and ZO-1 in mouse blood or small intestine tissue were also detected. Moreover, the gut microbiota was analyzed by high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA amplicons. SMT was found to effectively reduce gastrointestinal mucositis after DDP injection, which lowered inflammation and tightened the intestinal epithelial cells. Gut microbiota analysis showed that the abundance of the anti-inflammatory microbiota was downregulated and that the inflammatory microbiota was upregulated in DDP-treated mice. SMT upregulated antiinflammatory and anticancer microbiota abundance, while the inflammatory microbiota was downregulated. An antibiotic cocktail (ABX) was also used to delete mice gut microbiota to test the importance of gut microbiota, and we found that SMT could not alleviate gastrointestinal mucositis after DDP injection, showing that gut microbiota might be an important mediator of SMT treatment. Our study provides evidence that SMT might moderate gastrointestinal mucositis after chemotherapy by altering gut microbiota.
Frictional and Tensile Properties of Conducting Polymer Coated Wool and Alpaca Fibers
Wang Lijing,Lin Tong,Wang Xungai,Kaynak Akif The Korean Fiber Society 2005 Fibers and polymers Vol.6 No.3
Wool and alpaca fibers were coated with polypyrrole by vapor-phase polymerisation method. The changes in frictional and tensile properties of the single fibers upon coating with the conductive polymer are presented. Coating a thin layer of polypyrrole on the alpaca and wool fibers results in a significant reduction in the fiber coefficient of friction, as the conducting polymer layer smooths the protruding edges of the fiber scales. It also reduces the directional friction effect of the fibers. Depending on the type of fiber, the coating may slightly enhance the tensile properties of the coated fibers.
