1993 Insecta Koreana Vol.10 No.1
Based on the materials preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, which were mostly collected from North Korea since 1970, including some recent collection in the southern part of Korean peninsula and Isl. Jeju, more than 700 species of Noctuidae were recognized. Of these, 101 species are reported for the first time form Korean peninsula.
Is Exchange Rate Regime Relevant for Transition from Plan to Market?
2008 Seoul journal of economics Vol.21 No.2
This paper offers guidelines to the future transformation of North Korea from the perspective of the exchange rate regime. For this reason first the paper reviews the relevant features of exchange rate regimes during the first period of transition from plan until the foundation of the major institutions of a market economy. The embarrassingly rich diversity does not explain success or failure, but permits analyzing the evolving role of exchange rate from fighting hyperinflation to arrive at a sustainable inflation with the possibility to join monetary integration. More specifically, exchange rate regimes of Hungary, Vietnam and the German reunification are analyzed. Finally, the options for North Korea are outlined.
Two new species of the Maliattha vialis species-group from Asia (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae, Acontiinae)
2004 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.7 No.3
Two new species of the genus Maliattha Walker, 1863: M. orbifera sp. n. (Nepal, North Vietnam) and M. volodia sp. n. (Taiwan) are described. Photos of adults and genitalia of the species and their biological notes are given; the table of the diagnostic features of the externally confusable species is presented.

Six New Records of Springtails (Collembola) from North Korea
2016 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.32 No.2
Six species of springtails (Collembola) are reported for the first time from North Korea: Pachyotoma takeshitai (Kinoshita, 1916), Folsomia bisetosa Gisin, 1953 and Agrenia agilis Fjellberg, 1986 of Isotomidae, Entomobrya sibirica Stach, 1963 and Willowsia buski (Lubbock, 1870) of Entomobryidae, and Ptenothrix setosa (Krausbauer, 1898) of Dicyrtomidae. The genus Pachyotoma Bagnall, 1949 is mentioned for the first time from the Korean Peninsula. In order to facilitate the identification of these species, illustrations and short diagnoses are provided and the poorly known P. takeshitai is described in detail. Ptenothrix setosa and E. sibirica link the Korean peninsular fauna with Central Asia, P. takeshitai shows the zoogeographical connection of the Korean Peninsula with the Japanese Islands and A. agilis has a trans-pacific distribution. Folsomia bisetosa is an interesting circumpolar element in the Korean fauna while W. buski is a subcosmopolitan species.
