        중년여성의 약물사용 실태 조사

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the drug use of middle aged women. The subject consisted of 330 middle aged women who ranged in age from 40 to 60 years. They were selected in Seoul, Kyung-Ki province, Korea. Data were collected by using questionnaires, from April, 10th to 30th 2001 and analyzed by the SPSS PC+ program using qui-square. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. The proportion of drinking and smoking experience was 42.4%, 3.7%. The motivation of drug use was advised family and relatives(46.1%), doctor's order(39.4%), magazine and advertisement(14.5%). Most of middle aged women get the information on knowledge of drug from hospital(47.3%), magazines and advertisement(30.3%), advised family and relatives(22.4%). And 57.9% of the middle aged women didn't know side effect of the using drug and 13.9% of the middle aged women have had experienced with side effect. And the level of attitude on drug abuse in middle aged women was 43%. Most of the subjects(93.9%) didn't use alternative drugs, and they used more than 3 kinds of drugs(47%). 2. They used digestives(44.2%), applying ointments(41.8%), drinks(39.4%), analgesics(39.1%), laxatives(8.8%), anti hypertension drugs (8.8%), and anti-anemic drugs(8.8%) in their orders.

        Analysis of KAP1 expression patterns and human endogenous retrovirus Env proteins in ovarian cancer

        Background Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) constitute around 8% of the human genome and have important roles in human health and disease, including cancers. Previous studies showed that HERV envelope (Env) proteins are highly expressed in cancer tissues and co-related with cancer progression. KAP1 has been reported to play a key role in regulating retrotransposons, including HERV-K, through epigenetic silencing. Objective The relationship between KAP-1 and HERV Envs expressions was analyzed only in tumor cell lines and has not yet been studied in cancer tissues. In this study, we analyzed the expression patterns and relationship between KAP1 and HERV Env proteins in ovarian cancer tissues. Method The expression patterns of KAP-1 and HERV Env proteins, including HERV-K and HERV-R, were analyzed in ovarian cancer tissue microarrays that contained 80 surgical specimens, including normal ovary and malignant ovarian cancers. Results The expression of HERV-R Env and KAP1 proteins is signifcantly higher in ovarian cancer compared with normal ovary tissues. However, the expression of HERV-K Env did not change signifcantly in cancer tissues. The expression patterns of HERV-K Env and HERV-R Env signifcantly increased in early stages of cancer and KAP1 expression was higher in certain stage and types of cancers. However, the expression of HERV-K Env, HERV-R Env, and KAP1 did not change in diferent age groups. The correlation between the expression of KAP1 and HERV-Env, including HERV-K and HERV-R, was not signifcantly correlated. Conclusions The results of this study showed that there was no signifcant correlation between the expression of KAP1 and HERV Env proteins in ovarian cancer tissues, unlike studies with cell lines in vitro. These results suggest that the actual expression of HERV Env proteins in ovarian cancer tissues may be regulated through various complex factors as well as KAP1.

        Voice Mismatch Meets Neurolinguistics

This paper aims to investigate Korean advanced L2 English learners’ strategies for ellipsis resolution during sentence processing. Ellipsis resolution is known to involve several stages of information processing from the initial step of detecting an ellipsis-licensing element by the parser to the final stage of integrating the ellipsis site with the information retrieved from the antecedent of the ellipsis site. In examining these steps, we have manipulated three factors: (i) TP vs. VP-ellipsis; (ii) two types of discourse coherence relations (resemblance(-contrast) vs. cause-effect relations); (iii) voice match vs. mismatch. We found through the ERP recordings that voice mismatch in TP ellipsis elicited N400, followed by P600, irrespective of discourse coherence relations. In contrast, voice mismatch in VP-ellipsis registered N400 only in resemblance(-contrast) relation, but not in cause-effect relation. These findings lead us to conclude that Korean advanced L2 learners of English seem to undergo the full sequence of processing stages required for ellipsis resolution.

        소유동사 구문의 통사ㆍ의미론적 분석과 수여동사 구문과의 인접성에 대한 연구

        The semantic features are structuralized into the semantic structures, and such semantic structures are closely related to the syntactic structures. Through the diverse syntactic/semantic characteristics of the Korean sentences, it is possible to precisely approach and analyze semantic features. The purpose of this paper is to examine the syntactic/semantic characteristics of the possessive construction involving possession and to set the subject­conceptual structure of the possessive construction. The sentence meaning of the possessive construction can be defined as “the agent with a will dominantly owns the target”. To lexical­internally describe the characteristics of the possession, the conceptual semantics(Jackendoff) is used as a methodology. In addition, the possession is semantically closely related to the existential construction and ditransitive construction. The existential, possessive and ditransitive constructions are detected through the concept that they are based on a fixed semantic correlation.

        헛개 열매와 배 추출물을 첨가한 향신간장 소스의 관능평가

        간 기능 개선 및 숙취 해소 효과로 잘 알려진 헛개 추출물을 함유한 간장소스의 개발을 위한 헛개 열매 추출물의 관능 평가 결과, 단향기와 단맛의 강도가 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 사과, 배, 건무화과, 복분자, 유자, 태양초의 엑기스를 헛개 열매 추출물과 혼합하여 헛개 열매 혼합간장 소스를 만들어 관능 평가하였다. 배를 첨가한 경우에 기호도가 5.0점으로 가장 높았으며, 태양초(4.9점)와 유자(4.5점)도 헛개 열매 혼합간장과 잘 어울리는 것으로 평가되었다. 배, 유자, 태양초 엑기스의 혼합비를 달리하여 만든 혼합간장 소스의 관능평가 결과, 유의차는 없었으나 배만 섞은 경우가 기호도가 가장 높았다. 배의 비율을 높인 경우 기호도가 높게 평가되었고, 유자의 경우 비율을 높이면 향에 대한 특성은 더 좋아지나 기호도 평가는 높지 않았다. 혼합간장 소스에서 헛개 열매 추출물의 첨가 유무에 대해 관능평가하였다. 배-유자-태양초의 경우 헛개 열매 추출물의 첨가 유무에 의한 유의차가 없었으나, 배를 넣은 혼합간장 소스의 경우 헛개 열매를 첨가한 것이 5.6점으로 기호도에서 높은 평가를 받았다(p<0.05). 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 헛개 열매 추출물, 배 추출물, 간장만으로도 기호도가 높은 기능성 향신소스용 조미간장의 개발이 가능할 것으로 제안되었다. The objective of this study was to investigate the sensory quality attributes for the development of soy sauce containing an extract of the fruit of Hovenia dulcis Thunb (Hutgae), also known as liver function improvement and hangover removal. Aqueous extracts of Hutgae fruit and Hutgae fruit-soy sauce were used for determining the sensory evaluation. The intensity of the sweet smell and taste was predominated in the Hutgae fruit extract (p<0.05). Various seasoning items, such as apples, pears, dried figs, Korean bramble (Bokbunja), citron (Yuza) and sun-dried hot pepper (Taeyangcho), were used to determine the suitable type of seasoned soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit extract. In the sensory analysis, the highest overall preference (acceptance score 5) was obtained from the pear extract added to soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit. The overall preference of Yuza (score 4.9) and Taeyangcho (score 4.5) extracts also very well-matched the seasoning items for soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit extract. There was no difference among the extract mixtures of multi-seasoning items added to soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit extract. As more pear extract was added, a higher overall preference was obtained. On the other hand, as the more Yuza extract was added, the higher flavor intensity without the change of the overall preference was obtained. The overall preference of soy sauce with the pear- Yuza-Taeyangcho extract mixture was not different between with or without the Hutgae fruit extract. However, the overall preference (score 5.6) was significantly higher in the pear extract added to soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit extract compared with the pear extract added to soy sauce without the Hutgae fruit extract (score 4.8). These results suggest that soy sauce with the Hutgae fruit-pear extract mixture may be useful as a functional seasoning for various salad dressings.

        소집단 책 만들기 활동이 유아의 창의성과 사회적 기술에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of book making activities in small groups devised and practiced by the researcher on young children’s creativity, and social skills. The study was conducted with a total of 43 five-year-old children in two classes of K Kindergarten in the city of J, Jeonbuk. The children were randomly divided into an experimental group(n=20) and a control group(n=23). Test tools for young children’s comprehensive creativity designed by Jeon Kyung Won(2010), rating scale tools for young children translated by Jeong Young Sun(2005) based on the social skills Rating Scales designed by Elliott and Gresham(1990) were used. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 program and a t-test was conducted to find out the difference between the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study are as follows. First, book making activities in small groups generally improved young children’s creativity such as originality, fluency, flexibility, and imagination. Second, book making activities in small groups generally improved young children’s Social Skills such as cooperation/ compliance, assertiveness, and self-control. 본 연구의 목적은 소집단 책 만들기 활동을 고안, 실시하여 유아의 창의성과 사회적 기술에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 전라북도 J시에 소재한 K유치원의 만 5세 2개 학급의 유아 43명 중 1학급의 유아 20명을 실험집단, 다른 1학급의 유아 23명을 통제집단으로 임의 배정하였다. 또한, 유아의 창의성을 측정하기 위하여 Jeon(2010)이 만 4세에서 6세까지 유아를 대상으로 표준화한 ‘유아 종합 창의성 검사(K-CCTYC)와 유아의 사회적 기술을 측정하기 위하여 Eliott와 Gresham(1990)에 의해 고안된 사회적 기술 척도 중 유아용 척도를 Chung(2005)이 번역한 것을 사용하였다. 본 연구는 교사훈련, 검사자 및 평정자 훈련과 예비 검사, 사전검사, 실험처치, 사후검사 순으로 총 16주에 걸쳐 이루어지며 사전에 4주간의 예비연구를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/PC 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전-사후 점수 증가분에 대한 독립표본 t-검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소집단 책 만들기 활동은 유아의 창의성 발달을 전반적으로 증진시킨다. 즉, 유아의 독창성, 유창성, 융통성, 상상력의 4가지 하위영역 모두에서 긍정적인 효과가 있다. 둘째, 소집단 책 만들기 활동이 유아의 사회적 기술 행동을 전반적으로 증진시킨다. 즉, 협동/순응, 자기주장, 자아통제의 3가지 하위영역 모두에서 증진효과가 있다.

        Extraction Procedures for Free Radical Scavenging Activity from Noni Fruit (Morinda citrifolia)

        In this study, we investigated maximum yield of radical scavenging activity (RSA) using each of various extraction solvents and procedure from noni friut (Morinda citrifolia). Noni fruits were either sun-dried (FS) or hot-air dried (FO) at 60℃ after steam blanching. For optimum aqueous extraction, noni fruits should be sun dried and autoclave extraction time should not be over 30 min to produce extraction with high RSA with low cost. In case of 50% ethanol extraction, reflux extracts of FS and FO resulted in IC50 of 1.92 mg/mL and 3.06 mg/mL at 8 hr. When IC50 values were lower than 5 mg/mL, coefficient of correlation was 0.71 indicating that 71% of the phenolic antioxidants in noni fruits were accounted for the activity by scavenging free DPPH. However, coefficient of correlation significantly decreased to 0.63 over IC50 values of 5 mg/mL. Autoclave extraction contained chlorogenic acid of 14.69 μg/mL and scopoletin of 3.86 μg/mL. Reflux extraction showed all three compounds, chlorogenic acid (26.19 μg/mL), quercetin (19.59 μg/mL), and scopoletin (17.4 μg/mL). Therefore, the result of this study indicated that the potential antioxidant activities and functional values were obtained significantly with reflux extraction from noni fruit.

        국가기초구역을 이용한 범죄예측모델

        In this paper, we present a case study for developing a crime prediction model in Korea. This model aims to predict regions with high crime rates compared with other regions. To develop the prediction model, we first selected critical variables related to crime occurrence. Second, we collected data for the selected variables some of which were provided by the city hall of Kyung-gi province in Korea. Lastly, we determined relative weights for the selected variables and completed the prediction model by aggregating the selected variables throughweighted summation. Regions with high crime rates were predicted based on the prediction model in this case study.

        저체중 또는 과체중 청소년에서 캠프 프로그램을 이용한 영양 교육효과에 관한 연구

        This study was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutrition education program developed for nutritionally imbalanced adolescents. A summer nutrition camp was held for 23 overweight and 16 underweight subjects. Its effectiveness with regard to was evaluated at the end of the camp and 6 months later. Nutrition knowledge, nutritional attitude, food behavior, nutrient intake, exercise habit and ideal body figures desired by the subjects. The results showed significantly higher nutrition knowledge scores at the end of the camp as compared to those obtained prior to the camp program, and these scores were maintained for at least six months. Nutrition attitude scores also improved after the education program, and these improved scores also lasted for 6 months. However, the food behavior scores measured 6 months after the education program were not significantly different from those obtained prior to the camp. Also, the exercise habit, the ideal body figures and the body figures desired by the subjects remained unchanged. When nutrient intakes of subjects were assessed before the program and 6 months later, the mean daily vitamin C intake was significantly increased after the education program. Also, the intake of iron from plant food sources increased in the overweight subjects, while less iron from animal source were consumed by the underweight subjects. Both groups tended to consume more vegetables and fruits 6 months after the education program which may have contribute to the higher vitamin C and plant-based iron intakes. These results indicate that a 4-day nutrition education camp program sustained changes in nutrition knowledge and nutrition attitude for 6 months. The increased intake of vegetables and fruits was also achieved through this education program. However, changes in dietary behavior in adolescents may require repeated education.
