부신피질 자극호르몬 단독결핍 1례

부신피질 자극호르몬 단독결핍은 국내에서 7례만이 보고된 희귀 질환이며 병인 및 경과 등 아직 불분명한 측면이 많다. 이는 질환지체의 희귀성도 있지만 치료후 자연경과에 대한 장기적인 추적검사가 이루어진 경우가 드물기 때문이기도 하다. 저자들은 비특이적인 전신증상을 주소로 내원한 폐경기후의 56세 여자 환자에서 자가면역질환의 증거없이 고프로릭틴혈증을 보인 부신피질 자극호르몬 단독결핍 1례를 경험하고 1년간의 부신피질호르몬 대치요법후 추적검사를 실시하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Isolated ACTH deficiency is a rare disorder which shows secondary adrenal insufficiency with normal states of other pituitary hormones. A 56-year-old postmenopausal woman complaining general weakness and intermittent mental confusion presented negligible serum cortisol and ACTH level with hyperprolactinemia and mild hyponatremia. Rapid ACTH stimulation test did not show significant increase of serum cortisol level. Combined pituitary stimulation test showed negligible response of cortisol and ACTH, and slightly decreased response of prolactin and gonadotropin. But the responses of TSH and GH were normal. There was no evidence of organic pituitary of hypothalamic lesion in brain MRI and antithyroid autoantibody was not detected in serum. After receiving 12 months of glucocorticoid replacement therapy, she skipped the medicine for 3 weeks and we performed follow-up endocrinologic tests. Serum ACTH and cortisol level was also negligible and prolonged ACTH simulation test showed normal response of serum cortisol. CRF stimulation test showed no response of serum ACTH. Basal prolactin level was decreased to near normal and combined pituitary stimulation test showed normal response of prolactin with slightly blunted response of TSH and GH. We concluded that the case was nonautoimmune origined isolated ACTH deficiency which was accompanied by hyperprolactinemia and resultant deficiency of gonadotropin, so we report this case with review of literatures.

방진마스크의 Stainless steel arc 용접흄 여과효율에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to investigate for filtration efficiency of several dust masks, comparing with filtration efficiency certified by KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency), and to require of the right use of protective respirator. Using a welding fume generator and chamber, several dust masks, which were widely used in the workplaces in korea, were tested for their filtering efficiency for stainless steel are welding fume. The filtration efficiency testing system consisted of a welding fume generator, a chamber and a filtration unit. The filtration unit was made of a mask which was inserted into the sampling cassette and another sampling cassette, which contained mixed cellulose ester filter paper. These two cassettes were connected with tubing. Stainless steel arc welding fume generator was delivered into an chamber. The welding fume in the chamber was passed into the filtration unit with flow rate of 30 liter/min. The welding fume filtration efficiency was evaluated by gravimetric measurement. Metal concentrations in the welding fume before and after filtration were measured with inductive coupling plasma analyzer. Following results were obtained: Filtration efficiency of welding fume for comm hygienic mas was 63.82% and the average efficiencies for A, B, C, D, E, F and G masks were 94.62% 96.58%, 83.20%, 82.76%, 77.25%, 86.55% and 93.22%, respectively. Our results indicate that dust masks used widely in the welding workplaces in korea are not proper for protecting worker's health and then the use of fume mask should be required.

간장의 덧에서 분리한 Zygosaccharomyces rouxii BH-90과 Candida versatilies BH-91의 동정및 특성

This studies attempted to bred the two yeasts of highest level of alcohol and 4-ethylguaiacol production from fermented mash conventional soy sauce. Two kinds of yeast isolated from conventional fermented mash were identified and designated as Zugosaccharomyces rouxii BH-90 and candida versatilis BH-91 which produced the highest levels of ethyl alcohol and 4-ethylguaiacol. The two yeast strains preferred pH 5.0 and 30℃for highest levels of 2.5% ethylalcohol and 18mg/? 4-ethylgaicacol production.

Energy conversion in rotating electric machines results from the relative movement of windings, magnetic flux and m.m.f which are elementary factors. In this paper, a technique repesenting the above 3 factors as space vectors in re-lative movement is proposed. The space vectors are related to phasors of A.C rotating machines under steady state. As a result of application of the technique, actual relative movements of machines corresponding to any phasor diagram are well visualized and especially concepts of torque producing mechanism is easily described.

한국노인약물역학코호트에서 폐암 발생률, 사망률 및 생존율, 1994-1998

Purpose : This study was conducted to estimate incidence, mortality and survival rate of lung cancer in the elderly people in Korea. Methods : Study population was Korean Elderly Phamacoepidemiologic Cohort (KEPEC). The lung cancer incidence cases were detected from three different sources, medical utilization database of the Korea Medical Insurance Corporation (KMIC), the database from the National Cancer Registry, and the database from the Regional Cancer Registry. The hospital survey to confirm the final diagnosis of the potential cases was conducted. A specialist on lung cancer reviewed the abstracted data to confirm the final diagnoses. The lung cancer death cases were detected from the mortality database at National Statistical Office. Incidence rate, survival rate and mortality rate of lung cancer and their 95% confidence intervals were estimated with SAS Window ver.8.1. Results : There were 213 confirmed lung cancer cases in KEPEC between Jan. 1994 and Dec. 1998. Age-standardized incidence rate of lung cancer to the Korean population was estimated to be 316.9 per 100,000 person-years in male and 65.2 per 100,000 person-years in female. Age-standardized mortality rate of lung cancer to the Korean population was estimated to be 342.3 per 100,000 person-years in male and 84.8 per 100,000 person-years in female. One years survival rate was 17% in male and 11% in female. Two year survival rate was 2% in male and 4% in female. Conclusion : Age-standardized incidence rate, age-standardized mortality rate and survival rate of lung cancer in the elderly Korean may be useful for further study and making health policy for managing lung cancer in the elderly.

M계열에 의한 거리계측장치의 동작특성

본 논문에서는 M계열을 사용하여 제시한 거리계측시스템 모델에서 측정신호로서의 M계열을 MPD(Matched Pulse Detector) 디지털상관기로 검출할 때의 고속 동기포착과 추적을 위한 임계치 설정방법과 1칩 펄스이내의 고분해능이 가능한 거리계측방법과 거리계측상에서의 멀티패스와 도플러주파수의 영향을 분석하였다. 제시된 모델에 대한 컴퓨터시뮬레이션 실험의 결과 S/N=-30dB의 PN부호와 잡음의 비에서 직접 반사파와 멀티패스파와의 비가 D/U₁=3dB, D/U₂=10dB까지 동기포착과 동기추적이 잘 이루워지고 있었으며 이 조건하에서 7-90〔m〕범위의 거리는 정확히 계측되는 것을 확인하였다. 반면에 도플러주파수 발생에 의한 위상변화에 따른 영향에서는 S/N를 크게 증가시키는 결과로 나타났다. In this paper, for the presented ranging system model using M-sequence, not only the establishment method of threshold level of a digital correator as a matched pulse detector for the fast acquisition and tracking and the high resolution ranging measurement method within one chip pulse are presented but also the influence of multipath and doppler frequencies are showed. The simulation experimental results for the distance measurement showed that the acquisition and tracking for received signal is carried out well at the D/U₁=3dB and D/U₂=10dB, the directly reflected signal to multipathed signal ratio under the S/N=-30dB, the PN code to noise ratio. At this condition, the ranging system model measured the distance from 7-90〔m〕correctly. On the other hand the carrier phase variation due to the doppler frequencies incresed the S/N a lots.

90-Day Inhalation Toxicity of Dimethylamine in F344 Rats

Dimethylamine (DMA) is a widely used commodity chemical with few toxicity data. Groups of 10 male and female F-344 rats were exposed by inhalation to 0, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 ppm of DMA for 6 hrs/day, 5 days/week for 90 days. The changes of body weight, organ weight, hematology, clinical chemistry, and histopathological changes were evaluated after the exposure. As the results, the body weight was significantly decreased at 80 ppm in male and female rats (p<0.05). The absolute lung weight showed no statistically significant changes in any group. In contrast, the relative lung weight significantly increased at 80 ppm in male and female rats (p<0.05). Erythrocytes, mean cell hemoglobin, leukocytes, neutrophil, and platelet numbers were significantly increased in male and female at 40 or 80 ppm of DMA (p<0.05, p<0.01). In addition, the serum values of total protein, urea nitrogen were increased in male and creatine kinase, total protein were increased in female rats at 40 or 80 ppm (p<0.05, p<0.01). Histopathological examinations of the male and female lung samples showed slight hyperplasia and congestion at 80 ppm. Taken together, our study revealed that maximum tolerated dose of DMA would be over 40 ppm
