Selenium 공급방법이 수경재배 토마토의 생장과 Se 흡수에 미치는 영향

토마토 ‘모모타로’를 공시하여 셀레늄 10㎎ㆍL?¹의 관주 및 엽면시비 등의 단용 및 혼용처리가 수경재배 토마토의 생육 및 과실 내 셀레늄 축적 함량에 미치는 영향을 구명하였다. 토마토 종자를 50공 트레이에 파종하여 70일 동안 육묘한 후 유묘를 코코피트 슬라이브를 이용한 수경재배 시스템에 정식하였다. 양액은 일본원예시험장 배양액 표준처방으로 조성하였으며, pH 5.8~6.2와 EC 2.3 ㎎ㆍL?¹ 등으로 조절하여 공급하였다. 셀레늄은 무기태 SeO₂와 sugar fatty acid ester에 킬레이트화 한 유기태 셀레늄을 10 ㎎ㆍL?¹으로 조성하여 관주, 엽면시비, 관주와 엽면시비를 병행하여 처리하였다. 초장, 엽수, 엽면적 및 엽록소 등의 토마토 생장반응은 셀레늄의 엽면시비, 그리고 엽면시비와 관주를 병행한 처리구에서 현저히 증가하였다. 과실 내 셀레늄 축적 함량은 킬레이트화 한 유기태 셀레늄을 엽면시비와 관주를 병행하여 처리한 경우에 0.302 ㎎ㆍL?¹으로 가장 높았다. 무기태와 유기태 셀레늄의 엽면시비와 관주 등의 단용 처리 보다는 혼용 처리가 전반적인 과실 생장과 체내 셀레늄 축적에 효과적이었다. 무기태 설레늄(SeO₂) 보다는 sugar fatty acid ester에 킬레이트화한 유기태 셀레늄 처리가 셀레늄을 함유한 기능성 토마토의 수경재배에 더 효과적이었다. This study was conducted to clarify the effects of supplying methods of selenium on the growth and Se uptake of hydroponically grown tomato plants. Tomato seeds (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill. cv. Momotaro T-93, Daki Seed Co.) were sown in plug tray with fifty holes, and raised for sixty days. Tomato seedlings transplanted to coco fiber slabs were supplied with the nutrient solutions adjusted to EC 2.3 dSㆍm?¹ and pH 5.8~6.2 recommended by the Japanese Horticultural Experiment Station. Selenium forms used were inorganic SeO₂ (here in after referred to Se) and organic selenium chelated with sugar fatty acid ester (here in after referred to chelated-Se). 10 ppm selenium solutions were treated to tomato plants with foliar applications, drenching, and foliar application plus drenching. Growth characteristics in terms of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area and chlorophyll content were significantly increased in the plot of foliar application of Se, and in the plot of foliar application plus drenching of chelated-Se than other plots, respectively. Transported contents of selenium into the tomato fruits were highest as 0.302 ppm in the plot of foliar application plus drenching of chelated-Se. Also, it had tended to be higher in the plot of foliar application plus drenching than in the plots of foliar application or drenching in both of Se and chelated-Se. Foliar application and drenching of organic chelated-Se were effective to produce the functional tomato fruits.

Splenic pseudoaneurysm following upper abdominal surgery is uncommon but highly lethal complication. Surgical and angiographic interventions are used in treatment; however, optimal therapy remains unclear. We report herein the case of a 37-year-old woman in whom proximal splenic artery pseudoaneurysm ruptured into the small intestine via a fistula, following total gastrectomy. It causes massive bleeding, which was successfully managed by trans-catheter arterial embolization.

라돈 자핵종의 알파 측정용 여과지 매질의 평가

라돈 자핵종의 알파 측정용 여과지 매질에 대한 평가를 위한 연구는 물리적 특성조사로 여과지의 정전하 충전과 역학적 강도가 조사된후, 시료채취 전과 후 여과지에 부가되는 압력차로 여과지의 성질을 시험하였으며, 알파 스펙트럼분석으로 여과지내 부착된 라돈 자핵종의 에너지스펙트럼을 분석하여 성능지수를 계산한 후 여과지의 특성을 비교 평가하였다. 평가의 결과 새로운 여과지 매질은 과거의 표준인 Millipore AA보다 크게 유리한 점은 없었으나, 정전하가 문제되는 곳에서는 Metricel DM-800을 권고하였다. 또한 평가방법은 새로 개발될 여과지들의 물리적 특성과 매질의 수집효율을 고려하여 라돈 자핵종의 알파 측정용 여과지 매질 평가를 위해 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다. A study for the evaluation of selected filter media that need further characterization particularly in the context of alpha measurements of radon progeny has been carried out by investigating physical characteristics and using the alpha sepectros-copy. Physical characteristics was investigated by electrostatic charging and mechanical strength of filters, and then pressure drop before and after sampling was tested. Alpha spectroscopy was used to analyze the energy spectra from the deposition of radon progeny into filters. The results of the assessment showed that the newer filter types do not have a great advantage over the "old standard", Millipore type AA. But Metricel DM-800 is recommended for those situations where electrostatic charging is a problem. Also this method will be sued more effective for the evaluation of new developing filters in future.

장간막정맥혈전증 1예

Mesenteric venous thrombosis is a rare disease accounting for 5-15%. MVT is generally difficult to diagnose and can be fatal because of delayed diagnosis and treatment. A case of extensive thrombosis of the mesenteric vein was diagnosed early and successfully treated in a 70-year-old female who was admitted to hospital because of bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain. Computed tomography(CT) showed remarkable thickening of the bowel walls and extensive thrombosis of superior mesenteric vein. Because intestinal infarction and peritonitis was seen, emergency operation was done and catheter-directed thrombectomy through mesenteric vein was successfully performed. She discharged without any complications.

퇴행성 슬관절염 환자의 증상 중증도 지표와 DITI의 상관성 연구

Objectives : To investigate the applicability of thermography as severity measurement in the patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. Methods : Data were obtained from 80 patiens with OA of the knee. They were asked to answer two disease-specific questionnaire (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) OA index, Lequesne's Functional Index (LFI)), one generic instrument (Korean Health Assessment Questionnaire (KHAQ)), VAS in order to assess the severity of disease, quality of life, degree of pain and taken thermography in standardized environment. Results : The thermal difference between ipsilateral side and contralaterla side of lateral aspect of knee was correlated with that of medial aspect of knee, and the thermal difference of anterior thigh was correlated with that of lateral, medial aspect of knee and patella region. Age, duration of disease, duration of morning stiffness, sex, crepitus, and painful side of knee were not correlated with the thermal differences of each region. LFI, WOMAC, WOMAC pain subscale, WOMAC stiffness subscale, WOMAC physical function, KHAQ,, VAS were not correlated with the thermal differences of each region. Conclusion : Further study on the thermography on OA of the knee in population with appropriate severity grade and the standardization of analysis of thermographic data were recommended.

혈중 아연농도와 위암환자의 임상 병리학적 상관성

Objective: Until it was recently overtaken by stomach cancer was the most common cancer in the world. It is still a major cause of death in many countries. Previous most presentation is a discussion of the possible role of micronutrients in the etiology of common human cancers. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the Zinc trace elements and clinicopathologic nature in gastric carcinoma. Methods: Trace element Zn were measured in primary gastric carcinoma from 189 patients. It was compared with age, cancer stage, cancer location and pathological types with the contents of Zn. Results: There were no significant differences in the contents of Zn among primary gastric tumors, age (P=0.207 post hoc test), and no significant differences in the contents of Zn between gastric cancer stage (P=0.688 post hoc test). There were no significant differences in the contents of Zn among primary gastric tumors, location (P=0.99 post hoc test), and no significant differences in the contents of Zn between gastric cancer WHO pathological type (P=0.553 post hoc test). Conclusions: There were no significant differences in the contents of Zn among primary gastric tumors, age, cancer stage, cancer location and WHO pathological type.

We report two rare cases of concurrent papillary thyroid carcinoma and follicular thyroid carcinoma on the same lobes of the thyroid gland. A 35-year-old female and a 32-year old male presented with a one-week history of throat discomfort and palpable anterior neck mass on the same lobe, respectively. Fine needle aspiration biopsy of two nodules resulted in papillary thyroid cancer and follicular neoplasm. This patients underwent total thyroidectomy and central compartment neck dissection. The pathologic diagnosis of two nodules at Rt. lobe of thyroid was papillary carcinoma(PTC) and follicular carcinoma.

비만을 동반한 위암 환자에서 두 병을 같이 수술 치료한 경험(증례)

Obesity is growing problem in Korea. We had a case of bariatric surgery during gastric cancer operation. Patient was 29 year old Korean lady with early gastric cancer located in the lesser curvature side of the middle 1/3 of the stomach. Her body weight was 89 kg, height 163 cm, and thus body mass index was 33.5 kg/m2. Preoperative blood pressure was 130/90 mmHg, hemoglobin 12.9 g/dL, total lymphocyte count 3,280/mL, serum albumin 4.3 g/dL, CEA 1.1 ng/mL, CA 19-9 9.1 ng/mL, and alpha fetoprotein 2 ng/mL. Another associated disease was right thyroid follicular neoplasm. The chest X-ray was normal. After IM injection of 2,500 units of heparin 30 minutes before the induction of general anesthesia, she received curative subtotal gastrectomy and Roux en Y gastrojejunostomy when a malabsorption loop of 120 cm jejunum was incorporated between the Treitz ligament and the end to side jejuno-jejunostmy site at May 29th 2006. Her postoperative course was uneventful except a minor wound seroma and the elevations of serum amylase(up to 4 folds) and lipase(up to 2 folds). She lost her body weight 9 kg in 5th, 21 kg in 7th, and 27 kg in 10th postoperative months to became 61.5 kg. On follow up exams in July 2008, she gained 4 kg to overcome her weakness and fatigue. From the above result, the incorporation of a malabsorption loop during reconstruction phase of gastric cancer operation was a good option for obese gastric cancer patients especially in cases of early gastric cancer.
