        The nondestructive testing using ultrasonic pulse-echo data is an effective test methodology esperially for metal structure. Typically, the ultrasonic pulse-echo data is processed and the results are shown in A-scan, B-scan or C-scan formats. Upon viewing B-scan and C-scan data the viewer is able to identify the location of faults as well as their rough dimension. In this paper, we evaluate the applicability of various 3-D visualization methods frequently used in medical imaging, namely, surface rendering (SR), volume rendering (VR) and maximum intensity projection (MIP), for nondestructive testing purposes. Such 3-D visualization of ultrasonic pulse-echo data enables easier identification of the location and dimension of faults more accurately.

        Effect of gamma irradiation on the shelf-life of commercial Sausage and its quality were investigated during 8 weeks storage at 30℃ following 3 to 8 kGy irradiation. Total baectrial count of unirradiated group was proliferated from 7.9X10^(3) per gram of sample to 10^(6) after 4 weeks storage, but that of irradiated group was propagated to same level after 5 to 6 weeks storage and the growth of coliform group was shown to be negative. The freshness of stored sausage was better in irradiated group than unirradiated one and the changes in components concerned with the quality of sausage was almost same between unirradiated and irradiated groups. Textural parameters of sausage after 4 weeks storage were not remarkably changed according to irradiation dose, and discoloration of irradiated sample at high dose was recognized by the mechanical measurement.

        Copolyesters containing oxybenzoate as a rigid rod molecule and methylene group and dimethyl tetramethyl disiloxane as flexible spacers were prepared by room temperature solution polymerization for the purpose of the developement of polymeric composite materials. The thermal properties and the characteristics of the polymers were investigated by DSC and a polarizing microscope. The polymers may be formed nematic liquid crystal phase, and the thermodynamic characteristics of their mesophase to isotropic phase transition could be explained on the basis of its structural features.

      • 차세대 무선 통신 시스템을 위한 안테나 신기술

        차세대 통신 시스템에서 공통적으로 요구하는 소형화, 광대역화, 집적화추세에 따라 RF소자는 광대역화, 소형화, 집적화를 향해 발전하고 있으며 안테나 기술도 현재 추세에 발맞추어 소형화, 능동집적화, 광대역화를 통하여 개발 방향을 모색하고 있다. 본고에서는 현재 추세인 소형 안테나, 능동 안테나와 더불어 최근 관심이 집중되고 있는 임펄스 통신에 이용될 수 있는 초광대역 안테나 기술에 대해 소개한다. The technical trends of the next generation wireless communication are miniaturization, broad-band operation, and integration. Thus, in accordance with this trend, RF devices and components are being developed in such way, and same with the antenna. In this paper, technology of small antenna, active antenna, and ultra wideband antenna, which can be applied to impulse communication system, are introduced.

      • 栽培中 Tomato 果實의 窒酸鹽 및 亞窒酸鹽과 Ascorbic acid의 含量變化

        This experiment was carried cut to investigate the relationship between nitrite and ascorbic acid contents in two kinds of tomato fruits namely, Bokwang, Suekwang, which were different distinguished in growth periods during culture. The results obtained were as follows. The nitrate content in two kinds of tomato fruits was relatively higher in Bokwang than Suekwang. It indicated high content as 5.8-12.5 ppm in flesh and 0.3-2.5 ppm in gelatinous pulp. In the beginning of growth period, nitrate content in flesh was 50-62.5ppm, and in the latter period was 21.3-38.4ppm. In the case of gelatinous pulp, it was decreased from 14.0-16.2ppm in the beginnig period to 9.3-10.7ppm in the latter period. In the case of nitite, there was no difference between two varieties. Nitrite content during growth increased from 0.15ppm to 0.21ppm in flesh and from 0.06ppm to 0.1ppm in gelatinous pulp. There was no difference between two varieties during growth in total ascorbic acid content and its concentration was 24.2-27.5mg in gelatinous pulp and was 13.8-18.6mg in flesh. The difference between two parts was about 10mg. In the changes of nitrate and nitrite content in tomato fruits, nitrate was decreased, whereas nitrite content was increased. In the changes of nitrate and ascorbic acid content in tomato fruits, nitrate content was decreased but that of ascorbic acid was increased slightly. In the changes of nitrite and ascorbic acid content in tomato fruits, nitrite content was increased and that of ascorbic acid was slightly increased too.

      • 컬럼형 회분건조기를 이용한 벼의 건조에 관한 연구

        The vertical column batch dryer which is suitable to Korean farm was constructed and dryer performance was investigated through field test. The effect of a drying air temperature and an airflow rate on the drying rate was studied, and an empirical drying equation was established. The average drying rate of paddy were 1.6-1.8%/hr at the air temperature of 43℃ and the airflow rates of 19.4 - 24.5 CFM/ft². The differences of grain moisture content between the inner and outer layer of vertical paddy bed were 0.5 - 0.9% The effect of a drying air temperature was larger at high airflow rate. At constant temperature, the drying rate was increased as an airflow rate was increased. The empirical drying equation could be expressed as followed: ??=0.9exp(??) Where K=3.22×?? The average whitening ratio of brown rice which was dried with column batch dryer was higher 0.6% than that of sun dried rice.

        SWSI 가뭄지수를 보완한 농촌용수구역 단위의 가뭄 평가

        본 논문의 목적은 농촌용수구역(안고 및 안서용수구역)에 대하여 보완된 SWSI를 이용하여 농업가뭄을 평가하는 것이다. 농업가뭄을 평가하기 위한 보완된 SWSI의 입력자료는 강수량, 농업용 저수지의 유입 및 저류량을 사용하였다. 강수량 자료는 대상 용수구역에서 가장 가까운 기상청의 천안관측소 자료를 획득하였고 저수지 저수량 자료는 한국농촌공사로부터 획득하였으며 저수지 유입량 자료는 저수지 상류유역에 대하여 SLURP 모형을 이용하여 산정하였다. 1983년부터 2001년까지 SWSI 기반의 농업가뭄을 평가한 결과, 전국적으로 가뭄이 극심하였던 1994년 7월, 1995년 6월, 2001년 5월에 극심한 가뭄을 나타내었으며 이러한 결과를 PDSI와 SWSI와 비교하였다. The purpose of this study is to assess agricultural drought using modified SWSI(Surface Water Supply Index) in Ango and Anseo agricultural district. Precipitation, reservoir inflow and storage data were used for input data of modified SWSI. Precipitation data was obtained from KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration) and reservoir storage data was obtained from KARICO(Korea Agricultural & Rural Infrastructure Corporation) and reservoir inflow data was simulated by SLURP(Simple LUmped Reservoir Parametric). SWSI based agricultural drought index was evaluated for the period of 1983 and 2001. As results, for the drought periods(July-1994, June-1995, May-2001) agricultural drought indices represented extremely drought states. The result was compared with PDSI and SWSI and checked the applicability of the suggested index in our agricultural drought situation.

        수문학적 유역특성자료 자동화 추출 및 분석시스템 적용 (2) -PRMS 모형을 이용한 용담댐 유역을 대상으로-

        본 연구의 목적은 용담댐 유역을 대상으로 유역특성자료 분석시스템 (KGIS-Hydrology)을 이용하여 PRMS 모형의 입력매개변수를 추출하고 유출모의를 수행함으로서 개발된 유역특성자료 분석시스템 및 추출된 매개변수를 이용한 PRMS 모형의 국내 유역에 대한 적용성을 검토하는데 있다. 용담댐 유역을 대상으로 DEM, 토양도, 임상도 등을 구축하여 유역특성자료 분석시스템에 적용하여 PRMS 모형의 입력 매개변수를 추출하였다. 강수자료 및 기상자료는 기상청의 장수기상관측소의 시계열 자료를 사용하였으며 모의 결과를 검증할 수 있는 하천유출량 자료로서 용담댐 지점(용담댐 유역)과 동향수위관측소(구량천 유역)의 자료를 사용하였다. 장기유출모의 목적에 맞는 PRMS 모형을 구성하고 유역특성자료 분석시스템을 이용하여 추출된 매개변수로서 1966년부터 2001년까지 용담댐 유역에 적용하여 매개변수를 최적화하였다. 최적화된 매개변수를 이용하여 용담댐 유역(2002-2006)에 대하여 검토한 결과 0.49~0.83, 구량천 유역(2001-2004)은 0.57~0.75의 모형효율을 나타내어 모의결과가 실측치에 대하여 높은 모형효율을 나타내었다. The objective of this study is to evaluate the applicability of extracted PRMS input parameters by KGIS-Hydrology over Yongdam-Dam watershed. KGIS-Hydrology is a system for automatic extraction and analysis of watershed characteristic data. Input parameters of PRMS were generated from GIS data (DEM, soil, forest type, etc.) using KGIS-Hydrology. Multi-temporal meteorological data from Jangsu station of KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration) were used for all simulation periods. Input parameters of PRMS were optimized using observed runoff data of Yongdam-Dam station (1966-2001) and validated using observed runoff data of Yongdam-Dam station (2002-2006, Yongdam-Dam watershed). The results showed that the simulated flows were much closed to the observed flows of Yongdam-Dam (2002-2006) and Donghyang (2001-2004) station by 0.49~0.83 and 0.57~0.75 model efficiencies, respectively.
