        In this paper procedures for collecting, analyzing and implementing audio-visual speech are described. First, we defined a list of Koren vesemes according to the articulatory positions of the phoneme set. By the list we defined pronunciation list. Based on the list audio-cisual speech is collected. Next, part of the collected audio-visual speech is analysed to obtain variation of coordinates which corresponds to the motion of real articulatory organs. Finally the measured result is applied to the graphic facial model to synthesize audio-visual speech.

        응급환자에 대한 맥박산소측정기의 임상적 평가

        Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive method of measuring blood oxygen saturation even before changes to the cardiopulmonary functions become apparent clinically. Therefore it has been widely excepted in many disciplines as a standard patient monitoring equipment. But its accuracy has been argued at low oxygen saturation levels. To determine the accuracy of the pulse oximetry in the emergency department where the patients presenting with respiratory difficulty are expected to have low oxygen saturation levels. Prospective, cross-sectional, paired measurements of oxygen saturation by two different pulse oxineters(SpO2) against oxygen saturation of arterial blood gas analysis(SaO2) was performed from May 1994 to September 1995 at two different university hospitals. Two pulse oxineters each with its digital probe were applied to the patient for the measurement of SpO2 simultaneously and arterial blood gas was drawn for analysis(ABGA) at the same time to measure SaO2. 98 patients who met the criteria mostly consisted of cardiopulmonary patients. There were no significant differences between mean SpO2(88.1±11.4, 88.2±10.0) of the two pulse oximeters and mean SaO2(88.7±11.4) from the arterial blood gas analysis(p=NS). Strong correlations were found(r=.80). But the regression declined as SaO2 decreased especially SaO2 < 90%. The pulse oximetry is potentially useful in patients with clinical signs of acute hypoxemia and patients receiving interventions that may produce acute hypoxemia, because of their ability to continuously monitor the oxygen saturation. But pulse oximetry along cannot identify the degree of hypoxemia or severity of distress. Therefore patients complaining of respiratory difficulty in an emergengy department, history and physical examination must be performed with pulse oximeter as a guide while backing it up with ABGA.

        Positive Offset Mho 계자 상실 계전기 보호 협조 정정에 관한 연구

        It is important to clear the fault and prevent resulting in damage to power system. Although the frequency of generator internal fault is relatively low, it can lead to incalculable damage to power system as well as generator. Especially, loss of field on generator can cause the generator to lose synchronism for a short time if it is not removed promptly. Therefore, it is needed to conduct research on loss of field relay for detecting or clearing the loss of field. However, the setting of the relay may vary in generator operator or engineer, and the relay is not coordinated well with other elements associated with loss of field. In this paper, we address specifically the coordination of positive offset mho loss of field relay which is one of the protection schemes for loss of field. Computer simulations are performed by using ElectroMagnetic Transients Program-Restructured Version (EMTP-RV) based on actual data.

        식도 궤양, 급성 담낭염 및 허혈성 대장염의 소견이 현저한 알레르기성 육아 종증(Churg-Strauss Syndrome) 1 예

        Churg-Strauss syndrome is a kind of rare systemic vasculitis characterized by peripheral eosinophilia, bronchial asthma and relatively specific pathological findings such as necrotizing vasculitis, eosinophilic infiltration of tissue and/or extravascular granuloma. Clinically multiple organs/systems can be involved with various manifestations of disease of lung, heart, skin, musculoskeletal system, nervous system and gastrointesinal/hepatobiliary tract. Gastrointestinal symtoms were frequently accompanied, but usually mild and easily controllable so that special study for evaluation of the symptoms hardly seemed to be needed. We experienced a case of Churg-Strauss syndrome presenting as esophageal ulcers, acute acalculous cholecystitis and treatment-resistant ischemic colitis in a 24-year-old male patient with acute upper abdominal pain and watery, often bloody diarrhea. He also showed peripheral eosinophilia, bronchial asthma, mononeuritis multiplex, skin rash and arthritis. The patient received high dose corticosteroid, cyclophosphamide and exchange plasmapheresis with resolution of almost all symptoms. But symptoms of ischemic colitis such as abdominal pain and diarrhea are not completely improved in spite of intensive therapy.

      • Comparison of In Vitro Development of Porcine Embryos Derived from Trnasfer of Embryonic Germ Cell Nuclei into Oocytes by Eletrofusion and Piezo-Driven Microinjection

        Embryonic germ (EG) cells are undifferentiated stem cells isolated from cultured primordial germ cells (PGC). These cells share many characteristics with embryonic stem cells including morphology and pluripotency. Undifferentiated porcine EG cell lines demonstrating capacities of differentiation both in vitro and in vivo have been established. Since EG cells can be cultured indefinitely in an undifferentiated state, whereas somatic cells in primary culture are often unstable and have limited lifespan, EG cells may provide inexhaustible source of karyoplasts in nuclear transfer (NT). In this study the efficiencies of NT using porcine EG and fetal fibroblast cells were compared. Two different techniques were used to perform NT. With conventional NT procedure (Roslin method) involving fusion of donor cells with enucleated oocytes, the rates of development to the blastocyst stage in EG and somatic cell NT were 16.8% (59/351) and 14.5% (98/677), respectively. In piezo-driven microinjection (Honolulu method) of donor nuclei into enucleated oocytes, the rates of blastocyst formation in EG and somatic cell NT were 11.9% (15/126) and 9.4% (9/96), respectively. Regardless of NT methods used in this study, EG cell NT gave rise to comparable rate of blastocyst development to somatic cell NT. Overall, EG cells can be used as karyoplast donor in NT procedure, and embryos can be produced by EG cell NT that may be used as an alternative to conventional somatic cell NT.

        흰쥐 침샘의 방사선조사시 Apoptosis에 대한 Diltiazem과 Pentoxifylline의 효과

        Purpose : Xerostomia is a complication met by almost all patients who have radiotherapy for cancers of head and neck. Many studies for prevention of xerostomia will be necessary. Radiation-induced acute response of salivary glands has been defined as interphase death or apoptosis. Increased intracellular calsium level have an important role in radiation-induced apoptosis. Calcium channel blocker may prevent radiation-induced apoptosis of salivary glands. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of diltiazem known as calcium channel blocker and pentoxifylline with inhibition of inflammatory response on the apoptosis as an acute response of radiation in rat salivary glands. Material and Methods : Sprague-Dawley rats with about body weight 200-250g were divided into 5 study groups : control, radiation alone, diltiazem with radiation, pentoxifylline with radiation, and diltiazem and pentoxifylline with radiation. The diltiazem and pentoxifylline were injected intraperitoneally 20 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, 30 and 20 minute before irradiation, respectively. Irradiation was given with a 4 MV linear accelerator. The 1600 cGy of radiation was delivered in a single fraction through a single anterior potal encompassing the entire neck. After 24h of irradiation, rats were sacrificed and parotid and submadibular glands were removed and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The quantification of apoptosis was performed by microscopic examination of stained tissue sections at a magnification of 200 X and the percentage of apoptotic cell was calculated. Results : In parotid glands, the percentage of apoptosis by radiation alone, diltiazem with radiation, pentoxifylline with radiation, and diltiazem and pentoxifylline with radiation were 1.72%(8.35/486), 0.64%(2.9/453), 0.23%(1.2/516), and 0.28% (1.1/399), respectively. The apoptosis was markedly reduced in the groups receiving drugs compared with groups receivinge, Radiation alone (p<0.05). In serous cell of submandibular glands, the percentages of apoptosis of radiation alone, diltiazem with radiation, pentoxifylline with radiation, and diltiazem and pentoxifylline with radiation were 1.94% (11/567), 0.34% (1.9/554), 0.28% (1.8/637), and 0.22% (1.3/601), respectively. Un the mucus cell of submandibular glands, the percentages of apoptosis were 0.92% (5.1/552) , 0.41% (2.5/612), 0.29% (1.3/455), and 0.18% (1.0/562), respectively. The apoptosis was markedly reduced in the serous glands (p<0.05), but there was no difference in development of apoptosis in each group of mucus gland. Conclusion : These results suggest that radiation-induced apoptosis of serous cells of salivary glands may be decresed by diltiazem and pentoxifylline administration. 목 적 : 두경부에 방사선 조사를 받는 경우 대부분의 환자에서 구강 건조증을 겪게 된다. 이와 같은 구강 건조증은 침샘 세포의 소실에 의해 침이 생성되지 않거나 적게 생성되기 때문이다. 침샘세포가 방사선조사에 의해 소실되는 기전은 침샘 세포의 간기사망(interphase dealth)혹은 apoptosis에 의한 직접 손상에 의해 발생된다는 것이 가장 가능성 있는 기전으로 알려져 있고 apoptosis는 세포내의 칼슘농도의 증가로 인해 일어난다. 따라서 본 연구는 흰쥐 침샘의 방사선 조사에서 칼슘통로 차단제인 diltiazem과 방사선의 급성반응에 작용하고 세포내 칼슘농도를 감소시킬 수 있는 pentoxifylline을 방사선조사 전에 투여하여 apoptosis 발생이 감소되는 지를 알아보고자 하였다. 대 상 및 방법 : 체중 약 200-250g의 흰쥐 10마리를 대상으로 대조군, 방사선조사 단독군,방사선 조사전 diltiazem 혹은 pentoxifylline을 투여군과 두 약제를 동시 투여군으로 나누었다. 방사선조사는 침샘을 포함하는 두경부에 1600cGy를 단일 조사하고 diltiazem은 쥐의 체중 kg 당30mg을 방사선조사 30분전, pentoxifylline은 쥐의 체중 kg 당 50mg을 방사선조사 20분전에 복강내 투여하였다. 방사선조사 후 24시간에 쥐를 희생시켜 이하선과 악하선을 제거하여 hematoxylin-eosin 염색을 한 후 200배의 배율에서 무작위로 10-20곳을 선택하여 현미경시야 당 전체 세포수(T)에 대한 apoptotic body의 수(A)의 백분율(A/TX100)을 구하여 각 군을 비교하였다. 결 과 : 이하선에서 방사선단독, diltiazem, pentoxifylline 단독 투여군과 두약제의 동시 투여군에서 관찰된 apoptosis 백분율은 각각 1.72%(8.35/486), 0.64%(2.9/453), 0.23%(1.2/516), 0.28%(1.1/399)이였다. 방사선조사 단독군에 비해 약제 투여군에서 apoptotic body의 빈도는 통계적으로 의미있는 감소를 보였다.(p<0.05). 악하선의 장액성 세포에서 방사선조사단독군, diltiazem, pentoxifylline 단독 투여군과 두 약제의 병합 투여군에서 관찰된 apoptosis 백분율은 각각 1.94%(11/567), 0.34%(1.9/554), 0.28%(1.8/637), 0.22%(1.3/601)이었고 방사선조사 단독군에 비해 약제 투여군에서 apoptotic body의 빈도는 통계적으로 의미 있는 감소를 보였다.(p<0.05). 점액성 세포에서 apoptosis 백분율은 각 군에서 0.92%(5.1/552), 0.41%(2.5/612), 0.29%(1.3/455), 0.18%(1.0/562)였다. 방사선조사 단독군에 비해 약제 투여군에서 apoptoticbody의 발생 빈도는 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이를 보이지 않았따. 악하선의 장액성과 점액성 세포에서 방사선 단독 투여군의 경우 apoptotic body 발생의 백분율은 각각 1.94% (11/567)와 0.92%(5.1/552)로써 두 세포간에 apoptotic body의 발생에 통계적인 차이가 없었다. 이하선과 악하선 모두에서 약제 투여 군들간의 apoptotic body 발생은 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이가 없었고 특히 약제의 병합 투여군이 단일 약제 투여군 보다 낮은 apoptotic body 발생빈도를 보이고 있으나 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이는 없었다. 결 론 : 본 연구 결과로 침샘의 방사선 조사에서 장액성 세포에서 발생되는 apoptosis는 pentoxifylline 혹은 diltiazem의 투여에 의해 효과적으로 감소되는 것이 관찰되었다. 따라서 향후 이들 약제에 의한 apoptosis의 감소가 침샘의 만성변화에도 영향을 미치는지에 대한 연구가 이루어 져야겠다.

        한국 볼링의 변천사

        The purpose of this study was to investigate changing history of Korean bowling for the renaissance of our bowling. This study was to research changing history of Korean bowling and professional bowling as review literature and experimental description and analysis of phenomenology. Through this study, the following conclusion were drawn; First, as introductory stage of Korean bowling, the first beginning of Korean bowling was bowling alley of hand operated machine`s 6 lane of the eighth US army at garrison Yongsan on July in 1952. The first bowling alley for the general public was the Korea Bowling Center on August 15th in 1969, and it was not bowling alley of Sheraton Walker Hill on October in 1967. Second, as expansion stage of Korean bowling, the founding of Korea Bowling congress was KBC of aggregate corporation that get official approval as the Ministry of Education on April 23th in 1973, it was not on August in 1969. Since then Korean bowling was vitalized and sported with Bangkok Asian Game in 1978. Later, the KBC joined to Asian Zone Tenpin Bowling Division and International Bowling Federation. And then it was obtained to Korea Sports Council`s member organization, bowling was selected to demonstration event and regular event in the National Sports Festival. Therefore Korean bowling was be competition and to lay the foundation of development as held of internal and external bowling contest and establishment of business bowling team etc. Third, as development stage of Korean bowling, Korean bowling was more spread with Seoul Asian Game in 1986 because the opening bowling arena of international standard. Especially, bowling was include with athletic students through successful Seoul Asian Game, and then it was contribute to establishment of school bowling team and business bowling team. After bowling players piled up and expend the base. Also bowling was become event sports in the Seoul Olympic in 1988. At that time, Korean bowling was win a gold medal and get excellent results in international bowling contests. Thus status of Korean bowling announced in the world bowling. After this bowling arenas and populations were increased geometrically. Therefore Korean bowling made rapid progress whole of professional, life, school sports etc. 1990`s. Fourth, as recessional stage of Korean bowling, Korean bowling was crisis and decline IMF financial crisis and mismatch between the supply and demand because of oversupply of bowling alley. At that time, Korean bowling was to face a serious crisis generally as bowling alley bankrupt and many bowling team disassemble etc Therefore Korean bowling was become repeated to regression and decrease up to now in 2013. Howev er, Korean bowling has become get excellent results internal and external bowling contest. This efforts will be motive for the renaissance of Korean bowling development. Also we will continue our efforts the introduction of bowling educational program to school as renaissance plan of Korean bowling development. This plan is a mothed of vitalize and spread to whole Korean bowling through school bowling progress.
