        Consideration of Diluents Selection and Input Amounts of the Hunter Process for Tantalum Production

        Tantalum (Ta) is a heavy refractory metal with an atomic weight of 180.95 g/mol, a density of 16.6 g/cm3, and a high meltingpoint of 3017 °C. With its refractory characteristics, it shows excellent chemical and physical stability as well as corrosionand heat resistance at elevated temperatures. The demand for Ta metal and related compounds is increasing with the expansionof the electronics and chemical industries. The Hunter process was proven to be effective in producing Ta powder in1953. Hunter proposed a method in which potassium heptafluorotantalate (K2TaF7) was reduced by sodium (Na). Thus far,this process has been the primary commercial method to produce Ta powder. In this study, quantitative differences wereanalyzed for diluent selection. Additionally, consideration was given to changes in the caloric value depending on the inputamount of diluents. Finally, the optimum material input and the properties of the prepared Ta were analyzed. Stoichiometricratios of K2TaF7(1 mol), NaCl (6.2–6.7 mol), Na (5–7 mol) were weighed, to perform a metallothermic reduction reaction. After the reaction, the tantalum powder was recovered and the flush process was carried out. After that, it was dried in avacuum atmosphere. Physical properties such as oxygen concentration, PSA, ICP-OES, and XRD of powder were conductedto evaluate the characteristics of Ta powder that was finally manufactured.

        어린 오리에 치명적인 질병을 일으키는 오리바이러스성간염의 예방을 위해 혼합생백신 개발, 백신의 방어기전 연구 및 종오리백신 프로그램의 개발로 질병방어 및 제어를 목표로 연구를 진행하였다. 첫 번째, 국내에는 1형과 3형이 동시 유행하고 있으며, 최근에는 3형의 발생보고가 증가하는 추세이다. 특히 1형과 3형의 복합감염사례도 빈번히 발생하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 효율적인 질병관리를 위해 국내에 발생하는 오리간염 1형과 3형을 동시에 방어하는 혼합백신을 개발하고 그 효능을 확인하였으며, 운반 및 보관 용이성 향상을 위한 연구를 진행하였다. 두 번째, 오리감염 생백신의 3-5일 만에 조기면역을 획득하는 특성분석을 위해 세포성 및 체액성 면역반응을 평가하였다. Cytokine이 백신접종 그룹에서 증가하는 것을 확인하였고, 특히 IFN-α에서 강한 증가를 보였다. 또한 항체가 평가에서는 기존에 알려진 바와는 다르게 백신 후 3일째에 항체를 획득하였고, 10일째에는 최고수준의 항체가 수준을 나타냈다. 세 번째, 1주령이하의 어린 일령에 치명적인 질병의 특성상 모체이행항체에 의한 예방이 가장 효과적이라는 점에 착안하여 종오리백신 프로그램을 개발하고 농장에 적용하여 평가하였다. 종오리 농장 4개동 4천수의 종오리를 대상으로 백신을 실시하였으며, 모체의중화항체가(VN titer) 8 log2이상에서 후대병아리 14일령까지 100% 방어효능을 확인하였다. 모체이행항체의 전달률은 11%수준으로 나타났으며, 후대병아리의 항체가를 개체별 추적하여 계산한 결과 모체이행항체 반감기는 3-5일령임을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 오리에 치명적인 질병을 일으키는 오리바이러스성간염 예방을 위한 혼합생백신 개발에 관한 연구로 기존의 국내 상용화백신의 한계점을 극복하고, 국내에 유행하는 혈청형들을 단회백신으로 효과적으로 방어할 수 있는 혼합생백신을 개발하였으며, 백신의 특성상 조기면역에 대한 세포성 및 체액성 면역기전을 평가하였다. 또한 종오리백신 프로그램을 국내에 적용하여 모체이행항체에 의한 후대 병아리의 우수한 방어 효능을 확인하였다.

      • Uniconzole과 Ancymidol 엽면처리가 국화의 生長에 미치는 影響

        Foliar applied uniconazole and acymidol inhibited plant height in Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. Greater retardation appeared in treatment of 10 ppm applied twice 7 day apart, than in once application of 20 ppm concentration of growth retardants. Also, greater retardation appeared in 15 day than in 45 day after application. Uniconazole was more effective than ancymidol in controlling height after 45 day. "Beksan" plant growth was inhibited most effectively by uniconazole, but "Choyeonbek" was inhibited less than the others in Chrysanthemum species. Plant height was decreased by treatments, while stem diameter was increased as compared to nontreatments. After treatments, plants had a move intense green color than control plants. There was a 29.7% increase in chlorophyll content in 10 ppm concentration of uniconazole.

        This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of different sowing time, seedling age and ridging before and after setting un the growth and yield components of flue-cured tobacco. The variety applied was N.C. 2326. The results are as follows. 1.The growth of seedlings was large in late sowing and in large seedlings. 2.The growth during early growing stage after setting was good in large seedlings, and promoted by ridging before setting. 3.There were little differences of growth during maximum growth and at topping time among the treatments. But the amount of growth was large in the plots of ridging before setting. 4.Mean leaf area showed little difference among the treatments, but leaf area of upper leaves increased in the plot of young seedling are with ridging before setting. 5.The weight of unit leaf area of lower leaves was large in early sowing and young seedling age, but in upper leaves, there were little difference among the treatments. 6.Yield and number of harvested leaves showed no significant differences among the treatments.

        This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of seedling age, hardening time and hard-ening degree on the growth and yield components of flue-cured tobacco. Variety used was NC 2326. The results are summarized as follow; 1.Time of period from setting to topping, that from setting to the end of harvest, and that from topping to the end of harvest were longer in 50-day seedling than in 60-day seedling. And there was little difference of the time of period from sowing to the end of harvest between 50-day seedling and 60-day seedling. 2.C.G.R. was high in 50-day seed]ins than in 60-day seedling until the late maximum growing stage. In the 60-day seedling, growth continued late, and as a result of this, the stem height and number of leaves per a plant at topping time were higher in 60-day seedling. 3.The growth was most desirable in the recommended hardening(4.5ℓ/3.3㎡ ㆍ day ). The growth rate of severe hardening(1.5ℓ/3.3㎡ ㆍ day ) was high during the period from establishing to middle part of maximum growth. Se there was little difference of glowing characters among the plots of different hardening degree. 4.The leaf area of lugs and cutters was larger, and the weight of unit leaf area and percentage of dry matter in the plot of 60-day seedling were lower than those in other plots. 5.The leaf weight per plant, in the plot of recommended hardening was higher than that in the plots of without hardening and severe hardening. 6.There were little effects of tome of hardening on the growth and yield components.

        The Korean education system concerning professional schools and junior colleges was changed in 1979, in such a way that we should also make the educational courses of our radiation department search for new directions. It means that we should try to find a more high-dimensional education level compared with our experience gained in the past "education system" through its own characteristics and similarities. To make it possible, I insist that it is necessary for us to introduce a three or five year education system to learn more devevloped and progressive know ledge. Further more, we should develop our knowledge through the spotpractising education method by construction an attached general hospital by doing this we will have a new way to provide lively education with more meaningful experiences. We also should deliver an associate bachelor degree flexibly by considering the present education circumstances and the policy of the "ministry of education" under a three year educational course. When the five year educational course is adopted, we will be able to train radiation scholars continuously who will devote themselves to the development of the humanbeing. I think it is obvious that we should establish an advisory committee, which will make our education system more efficient and progressive, and which will also undertake the mission of surveying the education system and delivering a certificate(bachelor or associate bachelor) equivalent to the system. I believe the thesis, with important logic and position, which many advisory organs impose and hope it to be, will play an importnat role of assistance for us. If this thesis will serve as a reference for the management of professional schools, I think I have done a little part of my duties expecting it to be favored by you.
