        重谈 ‘宋伯姬卒’

        Han Dynasty Confucian attached great importance to the study of Confucian classics, and then managed a state using the study of Confucian classics. Song Boji(宋伯姬) is a woman in the Spring and Autumn period. Her death was recorded by Chunqiu and the evaluation on her has become an interesting historical phenomenon. This phenomenon relates to ideas, a view of women and a sense of virtue in Han Dynasty, also relates to the study of Confucian classics. The evaluation on Song Boji was influenced by Gongyangzhuan and Guyangzhuan. Those praised her as a virtuous woman(??). Han Dynasty Confucian analyzed of Song Boji’s death and they analysis was influenced by Yin Yang theory(?????). Above all, Dong Zhongshu(董仲舒)’s effects is very big.

        论陆贾的仁义观

        육가(約前240∼前170)는 한대 문인이자 사상가이다. 그는 일찍이 유방(約前247∼前195)을 도와 천하를 통일하였고, 《詩》와 《書》를 경시하였던 유방의 태도를 바꾸어 놓기도 하였다. 유방이 육가에게 진나라가 망한 이유를 글로써 설명하라고 하자, 그는 《新語》를 지어 진나라가 망한 원인을 설명하였고, 아울러 치국과 위정의 도를 해석하기도 하였다. 그는 《新語》에서 강렬한 인문정신을 나타내었는데, 특히 仁義의 중요성을 강조하였다. 일부학자들은 육가의 핵심사상은 인의라고 주장하기는 하였으나, 그 주요내용이 어떠한지, 역사와 인성 등 방면에 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지, 또 맹자와 순자와의 관계는 어떠한지에 대해서는 깊이 있는 연구를 진행하지 않았다. 본고는 이점을 염두에 두고 육가의 仁義觀에 대해 토론을 전개하였으며, 그 결과 육가의 인의관은 역사를 평가하는데 주로 표현되었으며, 이는 유가적 仁義史觀임을 알 수 있었다.

        Strengthening Risk Evaluation in Existing Risk Diagnosis Method

        An existing risk diagnosing methodology (RDM) diagnoses corporate risk for product-innovation projects. However, it cannot evaluate and compare the risk levels of multiple alternatives in the product development stage. This paper proposes a modified risk diagnosis method to fill the gap of risk evaluation in selections of innovative product alternatives and the application of the method will be also illustrated by a case problem on alternative selections in electrical dimmer designs. With RDM as the foundation, a modified RDM (MRDM) is proposed to deal with the problem of selecting innovative project alternatives during the early stages of product development. The Bayesian network; a probabilistic graphical model, is adopted to support the risk pre-assessment stage in the MRDM. The MRDM is proposed by incorporating the risk pre-assessment stage into the foundation. By evaluating the engineering design risks in two electrical dimmer switches, an application of the MRDM in product innovation development is successfully exemplified. This paper strengthens the existing methodology for RDM in innovative product development projects to accommodate innovative alternatives. It is advantageous for companies to identify and measure the risks associated in product development so as to plan for appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

      • Knowledge-enriched Process FMEA Model for Process Planning

        Most process FMEA systems in the market simply fill out the worksheet/form, and can not effectively express, organize, and utilize process failure knowledge of production process during process planning. This paper proposes a knowledge-enriched representation model for enhancing process FMEA in process planning. This model can effectively represent the process FMEA knowledge other than specific process failure instances or data. Furthermore, in order to effectively utilize the previous process FMEA knowledge, an algorithm is proposed to calculate the similarity among process failure problems based on “concept distance”. A knowledge-enriched process FMEA tool has been developed by adopting Web technique so as to provide cooperative process FMEA services for process planner on the Internet or Intranet.

      • Product Specification Management in Collaborative NPD: An Investigation of Problems and Good Practices in Electronics Industry

        Client-supplier collaboration has been an imperative approach to new product development (NPD), in which a good product specification management system and practice is crucial to the assurance of product quality. This study investigates product specification management in client-supplier collaborative NPD. Based on the interviews and survey study, 12 problems and 13 good practices of product specification management are identified. It also compares the importance and degree of the implementation of the product specification practices in Hong Kong electronics industry. The results suggest that more intensive practices should be implemented for better product specification management.

        Development of a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis Based Risk Assessment Tool for Information Security

        Risk management is recognized as a significant element in Information Security Management while the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is widely used in risk analysis in manufacturing industry. This paper aims to present the development work of the Information Security FMEA Circle (InfoSec FMEA Circle) which is used to support the risk management framework by modifying traditional FMEA methodologies. In order to demonstrate the “appropriateness” of the InfoSec FMEA Circle for the purposes of assessing information security, a case study at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is employed. The “InfoSec FMEA Circle” is found to be an effective risk assessment methodology that has a significant contribution to providing a stepwise risk management implementation model for information security management.

      • Improving Product Quality through Conflict Management: A Study of Hong Kong ODM Suppliers

        Client-supplier collaboration in new product development (NPD) has been a strategy in response to fierce global competition. Traditionally, Hong Kong suppliers collaborate with worldwide clients through original equipment manufacturing (OEM) arrangement in which suppliers manufacture products according to clients' design. In recent years, a growing number of Hong Kong suppliers have transformed to original design manufacturing (ODM) in which they are assigned a design responsibility other than manufacturing products. The ODM arrangement necessitates a close interaction between clients and suppliers, which brings about intense conflict. Conflict has been recognized as an important factor affecting NPD performance including product quality. This paper studies the conflict handling practices of Hong Kong ODM suppliers based on 87 survey data. The results show that the suppliers frequently adopt effective conflict handling practices by which they can develop products of good quality through better design decisions. The results also suggest that the use of ineffective conflict handling behaviors, particularly avoiding, should be reduced for better product quality.

      • Critical Success Factors of Supplier Quality Management

        Supplier quality management (SQM) is considered as a proactive approach in the buyers' perspective to seek for continuous supply quality improvement and collaborative ongoing alliance between buyers and suppliers. Therefore, it is important for the buyers to understand their circumstances for managing their suppliers, and thereby to search for an improved way to rectify managerial deficiencies, if any. This paper aims to identify the critical factors of SQM, and then propose a hierarchical framework which can facilitate the assessment of their SQM performance in the buyers' perspective and also serve as a working tool for managing supply quality performance.
