노인의 근육뼈대계 통증이 횡단보도 보행에 미치는 영향

        엄기매(Ki-Mai Um),왕중산(Joong-San Wang) 한국콘텐츠학회 2015 한국콘텐츠학회논문지 Vol.15 No.12

This study attempted to examine the impact of musculoskeletal pain on pedestrian crossing using a sample that consisted of 282 aged people. The research method involved an examination of the musculoskeletal pain of the elderly using a musculoskeletal questionnaire. The subjects were also told to walk across four- and six-lane pedestrian crossings while their gait velocity, step count, and step time were measured. The research results for pain by body regions indicated that waist pain had the highest complaint rate(33.3%). When there was musculoskeletal pain in the waist and leg/foot, gait velocity also decreased and step count and step time increased. However, usage of a cane turned out to have a positive impact on pedestrian crossing. Nevertheless, no significant relationship between waist and leg/foot pain and pedestrian crossing characteristics was found. We expect there will be continuous further studies on the subject of diverse physical problems of the aged and pedestrian crossing.

Pain, Depression, Body Mass Index in Conscripts with Chronic Low Back Pain in South Korea

Ju Hwan Lee,Ki Mai Um,Jung San Wang,Sa Gyeom Lee,Joo Hyun Park,Ja Pung Koo,Jung Hee Kim,Suk Hee Lee,Ok Kon Moon 국제물리치료학회 2014 Journal of International Academy of Physical Ther Vol.5 No.1

This study is a cross-sectional study for conscripts with chronic low back pain, where it is designed to investigate general characteristics that conscripts with chronic low back pain carry, and it is also aimed to analyze the correlation as well as discrepancy within pain, depression and body mass index depending on their ranks. In this study, 90 Korean conscripts with chronic low back pain participated. And in order to analyze general characteristics as well as pain, depression and body mass index of the subjects, this study adopted a survey questionnaire upon general characteristics, and it also employed Visual Analogue Scacle(VAS) and Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression(CES-D) Scale which have proven their credibility, where BMI values for the subjects were calculated based on 'Asian Pacific standard' Body Mass Index(BMI). From the general characteristics exhibited by the subjects through this study, average age and average height of the subjects were 20.78±1.41 and 175.97±5.34 respectively; and corporals displayed the highest ratio of 42% with the chronic low back pain while 40% of the total subjects experienced the duration of the illness less than 6 to 9 months. Moreover, 57.8% of all subjects were reportedly suffering moderate pain, and 48% exhibited depression while 49% carried BMI value between 18.5 and 22.9kg/m2(normal range). Based on the analysis of correlation among pain, depression, discrepancy of BMI depending on the ranks and each independent variable, it appears that there is no significant difference amongst the ranks, and there is no correlation between independent variables; however, it was obvious that all groups divided by the ranks had a moderate pain(45-74mm), depression(≥16) and BMI value in normal range(18.5-22.9).

The Effects of NEES on PARP Expression and Cell Death in Rat Cerebral Cortex After Ischemic Injury

Sung Won Kim,Jung Sook Lee,Ki Mai Um,Ji Sung Kim,Suk Hee Lee,Yoo Rim Choi,Nyeon Jun Kim,Bo Kyoung Kim,Mi Suk Cho,Joo Hyun Park,Soon Hee Kim 국제물리치료학회 2010 Journal of International Academy of Physical Ther Vol.1 No.2

The majority of strokes are caused by ischemia and result in brain tissue damage, leading to problems of the central nervous system including hemiparesis, dysfunction of language and consciousness, and dysfunction of perception. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) on necrosis in neuronal cells that have undergone needle electrode electrical stimulation(NEES) prior to induction of ischemia. Ischemia was induced in male SD rats(body weight 300g) by occlusion of the common carotid artery for 5 min, after which the blood was reperfused. After induction of brain ischemia, NEES was applied to Zusanli(ST 36), at 12, 24 and 48 hours. Protein expression was investigated using immuno-reactive cells, which react to PARP antibodies in cerebral nerve cells, and Western blotting. The results were as follows: In the cerebral cortex, the number of PARP reactive cells after 24 hours significantly decreased(p<.05) in the NEES group compared to the GI group. PARP expression after 24 hours significantly decreased(p<.05) in the NEES group compared to the GI group. As a result, NEES showed the greatest effect on necrosis- related PARP immuno-reactive cells 24 hours after ischemia, indicating necrosis inhibition, blocking of neural cell death, and protection of neural cells. Based on the results of this study, NEES can be an effective method of treating dysfunction and improving function of neuronal cells in brain damage caused by ischemia.

      • A Study on Automatic Berthing Control of an Unmanned Surface Vehicle

Vu, Mai The,Choi, Hyeung-Sik,Oh, Ji-Youn,Jeong, Sang-Ki Korean Society of Ocean Engineers 2016 Journal of advanced research in ocean engineering Vol.2 No.4

This study examined a PD controller and its application to automatic berthing control of an unmanned surface vehicle (USV). First, a nonlinear mathematical model was established for the maneuvering of the USV in the presence of environmental forces. A PD control algorithm was then applied to control the rudder and propeller during an automatic berthing process. The algorithm consisted of two parts, namely the forward velocity control and heading angle control. The control algorithm was designed based on longitudinal and yaw dynamic models of the USV. The desired heading angle was obtained using the "line of sight" method. Finally, computer simulations of automatic USV berthing were performed to verify the proposed controller subjected to the influence of disturbance forces. The results of the simulation revealed a good performance of the developed berthing control system.

      • Study on down-cutting ladder trencher of an underwater construction robot for seabed application

        Vu, Mai The,Jeong, Sang-Ki,Choi, Hyeung-Sik,Oh, Ji-Youn,Ji, Dae-Hyung Elsevier 2018 Applied ocean research Vol.71 No.-

Abstract

This paper presents the basic physics required to predict the performance of a down-cutting operation of a complete mechanical system including underwater tracked vehicle (UTV) and ladder trencher (LT) in a subsea application. The bar forces on a complete LT are assessed, by considering the forces generated by individual cutting tools when they are mounted on an LT. The thrust or traction requirements for the overall system (UTV and LT) are then estimated, and the required tractive thrust and normal reaction forces of the overall system can be calculated. In order to analyze the weight and balance requirements of the UTV, the moment of the LT caused by the cutting system is studied. The energy and power needed to drive the LT are then estimated and considered in relation to the tool characteristics. To demonstrate the application of various equations to practical problems of machine design or performance analysis, a number of numerical simulations are performed using the derived approach. This simulation provides important insight into the behavior of the trenching machine that can be used to design a trenching machine for the required working conditions. For this, the parameter study and sensitivity analysis are conducted to determine the variations of the operational and geometric parameters, and to observe how the cutter tools and material condition affect the forces, moment, weight, and power components.

Highlights

This paper presents the basic physics required to predict the performance of a down-cutting LT of an underwater construction robot for subsea application.

The sensitivity analysis is conducted to determine the variations of the operational and geometric parameters affecting the forces, moment, weight, and power.

The study provides important insight into the behavior of the trenching machine.

The typical steps of design process to be followed for a trencher machine are presented in this paper.

A numerical simulation was performed to demonstrate the application of various equations to machine design or performance analysis.
